The 2008-09 season was such a fun year to watch. Both conferences had some GREAT teams, so many superstars were having their best or one of their best seasons. Wade, LeBron, Howard, CP3, Kobe, Brandon Roy, Gasol, Nowitzki etc. Kobe dropped 61 at MSG, LeBron dropped a 50 point triple double 2 nights after. Everybody was just playing hard. All Star Weekend was hype, the playoffs was hella exciting... Just everything about that year was great.

In my opinion wade was the best offensive and defensive player in 2009 , his team was 15-67 team in 2008 , and he take them to 43-39 , thats incredible, he made close games against lakers who were the champions despite heat team was WAY worse than lakers.

Kobe on Christmas 06 and Lebron in early 07 where wade had a 25 point 4th quarter comeback win over the cavs. That injury allowed the media to ignore that wade was out playing Kobe and Lebron that year. I think he would have been the best in the league for a 3-4 year stretch had he not tore his shoulder up, then he got that nasty knee tendinitis and everything went downhill till 08-09 Olympics. Also, he was the best in those olympics, and there’s no ifs ands or buts about it.

This is a way off comparison but I think he's this generations Larry Bird or Tim Duncan. You know they had the talent to be the best of their generation, but they were more team players that kept the focus on the team first rather than egomaniac driven individual accomplishments. That's extremely rare for shooting guards who are forced to score most of the time and keep their ego in check. Ray Allen is another that comes to mind, but he didn't have the talent like Wade.

Kobe nowhere near as efficient as Wade was in his peak years, on the other way.. Kobe had a much better career, he remains a legend in the eyes of everybody, maybe he was the athlete with the greatest impact, influence ever. Hes the top2 SG of all time, no doubt about it.

This is a way off comparison but I think he's this generations Larry Bird or Tim Duncan. You know they had the talent to be the best of their generation, but they were more team players that kept the focus on the team first rather than egomaniac driven individual accomplishments. That's extremely rare for shooting guards who are forced to score most of the time and keep their ego in check. Ray Allen is another that comes to mind, but he didn't have the talent like Wade.
