Honestly this is by far the best version. Fix has the central symphony but it lacks the bracketing grit that makes this an excellent song

I first discovered Cradle of Filth back in 2008. Back in the days, Nymphetamine Fix was one of those that kept me interested in the band. I was today years old when I discovered "the other" nymphetamine. (This one)

I remember discovering Cradle of Filth back in the emule era. When Resident Evil 2 (movie) was pretty recent. Thi was around 2005/6. I heard nymphetamine in the trailer and was shocked by the melodie...find it, love it, when i discovered this version back then i didn't like it for some reason, now it my preferred version by far.
If you have the Album this is "the" one you know. Fix is Just a bonus track at the end

I had forgotten about this song... I used to play it on a loop many years ago. The melody floated to me on a breeze the other day and I couldn't figure out what song it was (because I listen to thousands of artists for real) and then today I remembered Nymphetamine..... once I remembered that lyric it was a done deal

So much better than the "Fix" version. The intro riff is so good, yet so simple. Love it. The structure is in every way better as well. Just far superior, great song period. There shouldn't have even been a "Fix" version. I'm not really a fan of Cradle other than this song (or black metal of any form/sub genre, be it symphonic, or raw). I'm primarily a death metal head/musician, but this version of this song still gives me goosebumps many years later.
I really love this version of the song, I wish more people would react to it rather than the "Nymphetamine Fix" version. The intro and end are pretty tight.

It's a play on words - "Nymph" alluding to sex addiction, nymphomania. "-etamine" refers to the drug, methamphetamine.
So this woman in this song is his 'fix', which is sex. Her sex is his drug addiction.

to expand on what johan said, its methaphetamine or amphetamine both highly addictive substances. theres two versions of the song. the 'fix' which is when a drug addict gets high (because they physically have to) and it fixes their condition for a period of time. (shorter and shorter time with each use. therefor you require more and more every time) . then therrs this version of song- the long version- I in which case is an overdose, because too much of a drug results in overdose. very clever imo and dani filth is my favorite vocalist of any band, for I feel his lyrics are unmatched by any that I have come across and the content is a personal preference. hence cof is one of the best bands of the metal genre and certaintly helped take dark music to a new level

I love the intro to this song, it gets stuck in my head all the time. And I 10000% hate cradle of filth. I decided I’d play the intro on my drums, like I I did back in high school, and once Dani started singing I was out.
