sir good morning, i just have the same tools that you use & you did replace the rear brake pads without using any scan tools coz it got eh electronic parking brake? is that possible coz i thought it isn't possible so i had to bring that thing to dealership to have it replace....anyway sir im from philippines
Sorry you had to take to dealer. My situation went like this. The pads were extremely low and the pistons were out too much for me to press and turn back in. I used a channel lock to start it and a piston compressor till I was able to get my tool seated in there. Once it was screwed all the way in the I used the piston press and it seated the piston with lil effort.
sir grant, in your case you've done it right? maybe i've had to test it myself who knows it can be done....

Also I didn't use a scan tool for the rear calipers.
