Popping in to say I just got this wallet. My very first Open Seas, and I absolutely love it. Just blown away by the quality, the feel, the functionality of it. Beautiful. I have many Travax wallets and a Lost Dutchman. I love them all. But the OS is better than I could have imagined. And the customer service is excellent. He's earned another customer for life.
This makes my 14th Open Sea Leather wallet and now my absolute favourite. I ordered it on Day One of the release and it's been my main carry ever since. Michael Bluth is a genius!
Okay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...

I ordered one of these the day it released, and saw that it had an option for Pueblo leather. The Sapphire Pueblo and Taupe Buttero look great together. I think I have to agree, it's better than the houbei.
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
I love this wallet. I got it day one in the whiskey color with havana cigar thread and it’s beautiful. The flap goes in very easily especially after use and when you slide it in from the right rather than “tucking” it. I just purchased the Jj leathersmith Lucais wallet right before getting this one so it’s kinda bitter sweet not using that while breaking in the open sea wallet. Both are amazing wallets and my favorites 👍
If it had a closed bill pocket, I would get it so easily! I don’t like the idea of flashing my cash every time I open the wallet. But it’s definitely a beautiful wallet!
I bought one mystery wallet and one scratch and dent before the Black Friday sale. Got a Houbei 2.0 and Topsider LT without the quick draw. Both wallets are what I really wanted but didn’t budget them! What luck! Love both of them
Great review. I like the wallet but if I had one complaint, it would be it seems like you always have to really fidget with the flap when you're closing it. Otherwise, it's a really functional looking wallet.
A lot of that has to do with it being an almost new wallet. Usually after a while the leather stretches a little bit with use and becomes a lot easier to deal with.
Open sea makes great stuff. I love the two I have. Love my XSTO as well. That said the Airo Boost is the thinnest wallet I can fathom and most practical for me for front pocket carry. Now to decide if I want to spend the $115 on the leather version. Should be more like $75-90.
I’m a big Houbei 2.0 fan but this looks interesting. I can open and close the flap one-handed once it relaxes since Buttero is so soft. I won’t run out and get a new wallet just to try this one though. I’m currently rotating my Houbei 2.0 with a SpeakEasy Dalton so I’m set for a while. Good assessment of the features.
I’ve been looking at speakeasy, how do the leathers compare? I have this open sea he’s reviewing but didn’t care for it (not saying anything bad about the work or anything,it’s great) just not for me. Its to tight and…noisy? I guess? Would u recommend speakeasy for someone like me?
Buy a groove wallet and be done with it so much better and you can put the groove go on the back of it or on the back of the wallet and one on the back of your phone and you got the best of all worlds done
I got this wallet at launch and I do think it's a nice design. However, after carrying it for a couple of days I found an issue that kind of annoyed me. I carried the wallet in my back pocket and after just a couple of days, I found the card I have in the front slit (under the front flap) being noticeably warped. It is warped along the shape of the cutout of the slit. What's weird is that I also have a card in the back slit and that card didn't get warped. Both are normal plastic credit cards, so the one in the front isn't some especially thin plastic card. That's kind of a bummer because I really liked having that slit in the front, and the new slit shape is more functional than a straight line. But without that slit, this wallet is essentially the same as the Get Set Gear Bruce wallet and the Harland Handmade Archer. Both of the other wallets have edge burnishing and the Bruce have more stitching work, so the front slit was kind of the distinguishing feature for the Topsider Bifold LT in my opinion. So if I want to use the front slit in the Topsider Bifold LT, I think I'd have to carry it in the front pocket or coat pocket exclusively, which I guess isn't a big deal. But it is a more rugged looking wallet, so I'd want it to work well in the back pocket. Again, I think it's a good design, but the card warping issue is kind of a bummer for me.
I ordered this wallet on your recommendation, the 16th wallet I have purchased with your recommendation lol. I really like the look of this wallet but I’m a little disappointed. There is no burnishing and the edges are very rough. Also, the inner pocket is off, it’s not symmetrical to the outer piece.
That’s a tough one. They’re both very close in functionality. The LT might have a small edge not having a snap but I can see some people liking the snap better than a tuck? For me my vote is the LT as of right now
Looks more like a 50/50 Version 2.0 than a Topsider Bifold LT. I own a bunch of Open Sea Leather wallets and I think the OG Gundeck and Topsider is still their best design. The most minimalist and functional.
As an international point of view ...English European and yen bills are they fitting inside ??? Waletopia does it ....very helpful for us abroad but for open sea as well ........more clients weirder business
I ordered a chocolate whiskey Bordeaux thread the day of the release it came the front card pocket on the wrong side I messaged Michael and he sent me a replacement for FREE!
What happened was the they made first one with slit on the backside facing where you put the cash and also with whiskey as the primary color when I put chocolate as the primary color
I feel you! We try and iterate making improvements where we can. But we have some new designs coming out next year that will have different silhouettes. Stay tuned
@@ChrispyThings i'm not sure what you looked at, but i'm sure the archer has the same open cash compartment. the only functional difference the archer lacks is the additional slit on the outer piece of the card compartment.
Jesus Christ died for your sins. Will you accept him as your saviour? His blood paid the atonement for the sins of everybody and he’s waiting for you to come to him for the pardon And thats not religion. Religion worldwide in every form is man coming up with ways to please a higher power and GAIN acceptance from the higher power. The Bible teaches how you can have a personal relationship with the one that PAID for your acceptance to God, and did it by dying on the cross. Jesus blood pays for your sin completely and God will only accept that payment for your sins. Receive him today.
I would beg to differ the first topsider bifold LT I ordered had the front card pocket on the wrong side after getting in touch with Michael I received a replacement one for FREE
I went to their shop on two different occasions for the Houbei 2.0 and the Topsider respectfully. The customer service was excellent! They are extremely friendly, patient, professional and radiated themselves with a people-first attitude. It was interesting to see how the wallets are made and the smell of the leather in the shop is very addictive. Even their shop cat was both enjoyable and entertaining.

Fair play to him for taking the best aspects of every wallet and putting into one.
I don't fancy it personally but I can see why many people would.

I have the topsider bifold special limited addition black ghost leather, man I absolutely love it, great wallet and phenomenal customer service
He literally took every wallet he's made and put it all into one that's awesome
Received a 1 of 1 topsider bifold LT the other day in waxy natural and camo with pear thread and oh boy it’s a gorgeous masterpiece
Very nice!

nice wallet, thanks. I liked it a lot, with rear pocket.

I recently lost my wallet I made with leather I bought now I’m going to make my new one like this seems way simpler and functional
Thanks for another awesome review man!

kislux versace bag is so cute
kisluxs versace bag is so cute
I appreciate your reviews 🤙 Will you be reviewing the new Dango watches this time around? I just pre ordered the DV-02
The new watch looks cool but I’m probably not going to review it this time around. Not yet at least
Gotta review JJ Leathersmith asap
HEY kislux !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
Buy a groove wallet and be done with it so much better and you can put the groove go on the back of it or on the back of the wallet and one on the back of your phone and you got the best of all worlds done
I own 3
I like it but I'm going to wait until he releases the mini version (fingers crossed)
Well if he does I’ll have to get that too
Yeah okay ya sold me on this.
I prefer things that I spend more on but it last longer preferable until I’m dead. Like my Iron rangers.

16? Wow!
And was no burnishing on the edges? Did you contact open sea leather to see what they say?
@@ChrispyThings Yes, 16, wallets are addictive lol. I did reach out but haven’t gotten a response yet.
Great review! What color way is the primary leather?
Hi wonderful presentation! Thanks! Just a question. What do you think about putting coins in the inside pocket (for those who don't carry many cards)?
Do you like this better than the Johnny wallet?
That’s a tough one. They’re both very close in functionality. The LT might have a small edge not having a snap but I can see some people liking the snap better than a tuck? For me my vote is the LT as of right now

Awesome review. Could you give a review of tauruscamp grain wallet
Does the front flap stay closed in your pocket?
How’s this compared to the jj leather smith
As an international point of view ...English European and yen bills are they fitting inside ???
Waletopia does it ....very helpful for us abroad but for open sea as well ........more clients weirder business
Yes yes I’ve been meaning to get foreign currency to test. Hasn’t happened yet
I ordered a chocolate whiskey Bordeaux thread the day of the release it came the front card pocket on the wrong side I messaged Michael and he sent me a replacement for FREE!
And I’m with you Chris my favorite wallet from Michael was the houbei but now it’s the topsider bifold LT

Great customer service right there. I’m glad to hear this
Yeah the color combination inspired my chocolate dachshund of all things
I went with Bordeaux thread cause who doesn’t like a good Bordeaux wine
How do I get the pattern for this wallet?
I love Open Sea leather, but lately it seems like they just keep making slight variations of the same wallet.
I feel you! We try and iterate making improvements where we can. But we have some new designs coming out next year that will have different silhouettes. Stay tuned
Whats your favorite wallet of alltime?
I don’t have an all time favorite. But I have about 10 that I go back to all the time
the harland handmade archer wallet is very similar...and it came out first.
The Archer doesn’t have an open cash compartment with access from the side.
@@ChrispyThings i'm not sure what you looked at, but i'm sure the archer has the same open cash compartment. the only functional difference the archer lacks is the additional slit on the outer piece of the card compartment.
👍👍👍
Not a fan of the flap.

Their leather seems very very thin and cheap tbh
Not at all
Worse customer service in the wallet business.

I’ve had nothing but great service from Mike. Can you explain what happened?
