Thank you so very much. It’s been years since I’ve used this to fix my problem. I’m just glad I remembered and glad You were there to walk me through the process. 🙋♀️👍
No idea if it is going to work yet as restarting but easy to follow so good instructions. My problem is Win 7 will not get past starting up. No stuck on Starting Windows still and it worked at that point so no point restoring earlier. How frustrating
Sir or anyone ? I have a question can system restore "merge or delete network connections" ? Because I have accidentally merge my internet connection to the other one and now I don't know how to unmerge it. Can system restore do this trick ?
GREAT video. However, the restore dates only go back one week. I need a restore date of at least 10 days. (I clicked the box to 'show more' and no additional dates were shown). I remember in the past (before '7') I would be presented with a calendar I could choose a date that way. Thanks!
+Steve Wojciechowski Unfortunately Windows 7 won't give you the opportunity to restore your computer back to anything other than the dates shown to you. If there isn't a date that you want to restore back to, there is no other options using system restore.
THat's fine if your computer can boot. If you can't boot the computer you need to press f8 and then start in safe mode with command prompt then type rstrui into command prompt. This will allow you to system restore to when windows was able to boot up.
In the Windows search box, type "create a restore point" (without the quote marks). Next, in the box that appears, make sure the "System Protection" tab is highlighted. Then click on "Configure". Your restore settings will then be shown.
Hi, thanks for the video! Do you know if a system restore will affect .FLP files? I know photo files and all that are supposed to be safe but I dont know if the computer will know to save these more uncommon files. Thanks so much.
musicisbrilliant What are your flp files? If they're say audio files that you've created yourself and saved then they will be left alone. If they're a program file then they may be changed using system restore.
If you create a restore point right now, it will be a restore point made for today's date. That's the only way you can manually create a restore point.
@@EasyPcRepairs youre a very responsive youtuber that i know related to these things. Thankyou so much. I already fixed the bluescreen with this method :D
As you run through the system restore process, try clicking on "Show more (or all) Restore Points". If there are still no other restore points, System Restore won't be of use to you on this occasion.
i recently without knowing deleted the classes from regestry editor and i wanted to use system restore but i can't open the windows explorer or the control panel it says the file has been moved or deleted.
In that situation it's best to use a Windows recovery disk. That will allow you to use system restore even when Windows isn't working properly. Or you could use the Windows recovery disk to repair Windows instead.
An easy way to get a network adapter is to update Windows. That works very often, but not every time. If that doesn't work for you, find which network card you have, then download a driver from the network card manufacturer's website.
The restore points available are after the date I have the issue. How do I choose differents restore points at least 1 or 2 days before the date I have the issue? Thanks in advance for your help!
As you go through the system restore wizard, choose 'show more system restore points'. If there's still no restore points before you had a problem, system restore cannot help. Whilst Windows will automatically create restore points, it's best to create one yourself when your computer is running well. That way you can go back to it if a problem occurs.
Windows will create its own restore points. The options it gives you are the options that you have. If you want to create your own restore point, it will time/date stamp it for today. If you change the time/date and then create a restore point, it will revert back to how your computer was when you created the restore point, not how it was when you set the time/date. Hope that makes sense. I guess the simple answer to your question is... no.

Hey so when i click on system restore it brings this up: No restore points have been created on your computer's system drive. to create a restore point open system protection. I run on windows 7 and recently i have done something that makes my chrome very slow and my computer as a whole im assuming a virus of some sort.
If you have no restore points then you'll have no choice but to tackle the problem in a different way. Some things you could try are uninstalling any recently installed programs, use an anti-spyware program and run Windows checkdisk. I'm assuming you've already tried running an anti-virus. I'm just throwing some general ideas your way as I don't know the specific details of the problem. Hope that helps.

mikelpaulo15 This may be stating the obvious but did you try clicking on 'Show more restore points' when you reached the window that read something like 'you have no restore points'?
EasyPcRepairs there's no "Show more restore points" on the window. the only clickable items were Cancel and Create Restore point. Before this, I was able to do a system restore early this year. Maybe the option for automatically creating a restore point was turned off(accidentally) after I performed the last system restore.
mikelpaulo15 I think you could be right, system restore might be turned off. As one last attempt I would try going into Windows in 'Safe Mode' then try system restore again. It may or may not work but it's worth a go. It won't do your computer any harm trying this.
Hi sorry in advance for a dumb question. I seem have some sort of virus, I'm seeing 2 random files, an internet Shortcut and a TExt file, they are both saved as Decryption Instruction. When I tried to open the Shortcut MS Security Essentials Blocks it and the Text gives me a pop up saying I don't have access. They two files are littered throughout my Folders. It looks MS Excel is corrupted or at least where these files are showing up. The Creation DAtes seems to be the same throughout, so I'm assuming that is when I got infected. I think I have everything backed up on Google Drive and a external Hard Drive So I"m too worried about losing anything super important. My question, finally, if I follow your instructions and go back to a restore point before the creation date listed will those bad files go away? Hi EPR!I'm curious of how long does it takes?...I already subbed for you, cause I believe it will work...If my parents know about this,I'll be dead for sure..
Tried it and restore points are all up to 1 week back max. Cannot see before that? Is there a maximum time frame for the restore points to stay or something? If they last so little will not be of much help. Will just have to use others that are not from Microsoft like Rollback Rx unless this can be solved.
+Cooper Bennett System restore isn't as good on Windows 7 as it was on XP (as in, you often cannot restore back as far). So unfortunately, if the right restore points are not showing up for you, system restore won't be of any help. System restore is great at resolving fairly recent problems, but I guess that doesn't help your particular problem though.
so say i unistalled steam games and all of the sudden my desktop icons and such were deleted and i used system restore. will they come back? because i don't know if they were deleted or just removed from the desktop
Icecreamday Catlin You can use system restore and then if it doesn't do what you wanted it to do you can use it again to change it back (that is back to how it was before you used system restore, back to where you started).

+Petar Rafailov It may be that your system restore is turned off. Try turning it on by clicking on Start, right click Computer and select Properties, click on System Protection, click on your C: drive then select Configure. To turn on System Restore, click on 'Restore system settings and previous versions of files'. Then select OK, then select OK again.

Windows will create its own restore points. The options it gives you are the options that you have. If you want to create your own restore point, it will time/date stamp it for today. If you change the time/date and then create a restore point, it will revert back to how your computer was when you created the restore point, not how it was when you set the time/date. I’m glad time exists
Me too!
Will my Accaunt on a game be deleted because my computer is soooooo slow i wan't to somting goes wrong.
Hi EPR!I'm curious of how long does it takes?...I already subbed for you, cause I believe it will work...If my parents know about this,I'll be dead for sure..
It doesn't take too long but will vary from one pc to the next. Most pcs will complete a system restore in about 5 minutes.
EasyPcRepairs Your right...it only take 3 mins in my pc
Thank you very much!
Sir ? How can i get back my files like about 3 days ago ? :'(
For that you'll need a third party app that will undelete your deleted files.
Thank you sir...I will try that. ))

Ty.. bro
my windows 7 don't make system restore points or delete them. Even if I make manually restore point it's just disappear!!! What to do ?
+Petar Rafailov It may be that your system restore is turned off. Try turning it on by clicking on Start, right click Computer and select Properties, click on System Protection, click on your C: drive then select Configure. To turn on System Restore, click on 'Restore system settings and previous versions of files'. Then select OK, then select OK again.
My internet explorer and chrome and firewall accidentally got deleted would this get it back please respond
GAPvids Most likely system restore would bring those programs back. It won't hurt to try as a system restore can be undone as well if needed.
What should I do when the restore is not done with this unspecified error 0x80070005? How can I fix it?
Elle58123 Try disabling your anti-virus software and try again. If that doesn't work, try this out... www.kapilarya.com/fix-system-restore-did-not-completed-successfully
Thank you very useful
Always glad to help!
