  • Travel has changed for me over the past year and I want to talk about it! I took a short trip to Portland, Maine for the views and Lobster!
The Portland Head Light, Bite into Maine and The Lobster Shack!
I'm having trouble figuring out how to travel now that I'm not on the road full time. This trip was a chance to take a step back and see a place that I missed on my road trip across the US, Cape Elizabeth!
The Portland Head Light is just outside of Portland Maine in Fort Williams State Park. The light is one of the most iconic in the country and offers so many picture opportunities. The Park also has a sand beach which is more rare in Maine then you would expect.
While there I tried a lobster roll from Bite into Maine. I went with the Maine roll with warm butter, but they are famous for their variations on the lobster roll offering different flavor options like curry, wasabi and chipotle.
Next I haded to Two Lighthouses at the tip of Cape Elizabeth. I enjoyed the waves for a while before heading to The Lobster Shack for dinner. I grabbed a lobster dinner and an order of shrimp. I'm not sold on whole lobsters just yet. They are good, but it would have been fun to share. Don't skip the shrimp if you're there! They were excellent and next time I'm grabbing some onion rings!

I use the Native Lands website and App to learn the history of people native to the areas that are now national parks. This is a great place to learn more about the people of America and this history of where you live. native-land.ca/

I started my full time travel journey at the start of 2020 when I quit my job. My plan was to travel the world, but my timing was horrible. I decided to stay closer to home and explore the US. That decision promopted me to build out my Ford Transit van and travel to every National Park! I've currently been to 52. Along the way I made it to all 50 states IN ONE YEAR! I can't believe it actually happend but from April of 2021 to April of 2022. Now its on to new crazy adventures!

Wow, what a beautiful place! Maine is on my bucket list to visit one day! I really enjoyed watching all your videos and you inspired my own challenge that I have been doing for 2023! I do not have the financial means and/or the time to travel all around the US, but I decided to do something more on a small scale and I am visiting and hiking at every state park in my home state of Missouri that offers a hiking trail, so far I have completed 37! It had been a great challenge as it has taken me to different parts of the state that I probably would have never visited. Thanks for sharing all of your adventures! I look forward to your future videos!

That's an awesome goal! It always surprises me how many great state parks there are across the country, and hiking is always a favorite of mine! Missouri is a beautiful state too!!

Took a tour of New Hampshire and Maine back in the 90s when it was alot more affordable and less crowded , caught Acadia with perfect fall colors. Happy travels making memories 😊

I was next to someone on the plane who was from Maine and i pointed out how many trees there were and she said “of course, it’s Maine.” I laughed at her response. It’s special to be able to visit such a beautiful place!

Husband and I have been binging your videos lately, love them! We're trying to see all of the MLB stadiums so if you're into sports that's an idea! I also want to visit every continent but that's a *big* goal
