      Yup, all Spey casts, even plain old roll casts.

    This advice sounds very relevant. Must practice this. A lot.
    But how can I practice when all is covered in ice three more months?
    Anyone?

      Practicing on snow using a constant motion Switch cast, does work. It teaches a smooth power stroke as an abrupt one will always blow what little anchor snow provides.
