Don't you dare overcook my rock dude.
Medium rare only
@@johnr1350 exactly!
Who knew geography could be a food group
I enjoy my rocks medium rare
That would never happen. Didn't you see how cool the fire was?!
Pay closer attention😂
Good project for dad and junior. A memory for a woods trip
Perfect project for my grandchildren to learn in our Grandma's survival camp! Thank you, again. Your videos are a wonderful source of information and instruction.
It's always fun in the woods with Dan. Great video/information as always 👍
You always make me laugh when you teach us something and I always learn valuable lessons from you. I would love to take a class with you one day. Tongs are very practical and I already have used some of what you teach in my journey of bushcraft. Thanks!😊
Next week Dan shows us how to cure Poison Ivy because we selected the wrong vine! 🤣🤣🤣
😂🤣😂
I tried this a few times already and it worked great. Thanks a bunch Dan.
You're a great teacher, because you almost always make learning fun. We all enjoy bush craft, so learning about a subject, in which we already have an interest, is naturally enjoyable. Your lessons always tend to lend a bit of polish to an already intriguing topic ... thanks for all you do ... Cheers.
Thanks for the inspiration, From Småland Sweden.
Your version of tongs is nicely demonstrated and Thanks.
Nice little project I can teach my kids and have fun. Thanks.
I always have the kids craft the cooking utensils.. it teaches them basic knife work, patience, and helps draw them in to the craft.. great video sir..!! Semper-fi
Very cool. Everything you can make (even better if you can make it quickly) is stuff you don't have to carry in and carry out.
Thank you, I don't know why I didn't think of that... that's pretty helpful and I'm going to do this from now on.
Thanks for sharing 🙌🏼Definitely showing this to my boys!!!
Always enjoy your videos. Simple and to the point .
Thank you. God Bless and stay safe.
I love it when you say stuff so asinine you make yourself laugh! Means your human too! LOL Luv your shows brother.
Very clever mate cheers from Australia
Great video young man
Love the video. This is definitely a project I plan to do.
Always great ideas. Thank you.
Great project for the kids at camp, especially if you make them look like a short sword. Thank you.
Nice , thinks DAN for this useful information .
I love this channel! What's Dan going to do next?
Good to know, and on how to correct runout on a split....
Will probably save a few frustrating moments here and there, of throwing sticks around...
Great idea, love it
In Orange County, Cali. a boy scout troop made a bad decision...they used Oleander as skewers for hot dogs! They were VERY ill! ER RN here. Can't use just any type of wood!
That’s good to know. Thank you! I was thinking of the vine..I’d probably end up using a type of poison ivy.😅 Guess that’s why you have to know a little more information about your materials.
All natural outstanding !!!
Awesome. .. gonna be making these every trip now ..
Good tip Dan
Great job on the video Dan👍👍
Love this project, looks great to try with kids!
Now, that's a cool tool.
That fake steak and fake potato look delicious 😂. Great video. Could see that DIY tong having a lot of good uses.
You ain't lying. I can smell it and taste it too. Already got peppers, garlic, mushrooms, and onions. Fine eatin'.
You haven't seen cutlets yet.
Fun project for the kids. 👍🏻👍🏻
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY brother
Awesome brother thanks
Those look like the kids’ chopsticks at the local 15 Flavors of Kitty, lol!
Great Video! 🙂 👍👍👍
Thank you very much.
Greetings
Christian 🙂
Great Video and Information, a valuable tip and trick. I Greatly Appreciate Your hard work and sharing your time and knowledge and wisdom and experience and passing on the Craft. Tim L.
tongs for that dan - useful item for future 'experimentation' :)
Nice project.
Last seasons growth of Autumn Honeysuckle vine works. It stays flexible and doesn't break down overwinter. My yard is full of it....
That might come in handy backpacking, but camping I have everything I need, even tongs..
Outstanding!!!
😊nice Dan😊
You're Chanel is nice❤
Awesome and epic video as always thank you for making it ❤️👍
'Today's video is fun listening to Dan gasping for air....'
If you stop cutting before you split the stick, would it work as well without the vine?
Wondering if splitting down only as far as where you want the hinge stick to be, and then still use the vine around the handle to keep the crack from going any further would keep it stronger.
Simple and efficient.
Made me feel like BBQ tonight :-)
Great information! Thanks Dan! Have a great weekend in the woods. 🌲 🍃 🪵 🔪
Just spent a few days in the woods and needed something to move things around the fire. I just made a giant set of chopsticks out of what was laying around! If one has not learned to use chopsticks your idea would be fun to try.
Definitely *Nothing But FUN in the Woods WITH Dan* YEEESSSS!! 🤜🌲🤛
That is so clever!
Thanks. ✌🏻👊🏼
I always bring my tongs with me, but I guess if I ever forget this is a good trick, but I try to make things easy on myself😊
You did it now. Now I am hungry. 😳
awesome vid, thanks!
You can also use those tongs to move hot coals to a Dutch Oven or other location.
That is a smart idea.
Nice video great content
When you hold your tong, even the simple are assumed to be wise. When you produce a tong and the steak is flipped in good time, you are a valued member of the community
It's not a true set of tongs without a few test clicks. lol, good video.
great idea thanks
That was pretty cool
Always good.😃
great content
AWESOME !!😎
Can I make something similar… That would be able to move wood around in the fire?
Thanks Dan for another useful project.
"Stay in the woods"
I live there. YES!!!
i always hope i find myself asking if i'm in lord of the rings or doing bushcraft
Cool idea
That steak looks rock hard. 6:54
Cool stuff dude
Yes, fun!
Well done. What is a Coalcracker?
Pretty cool
Why splitting it all th way to the end if you are going to bind the ends together again?
OMG! yor broke your steak! Seriously though, great vid
I'm sorry. But I think I was laughing too hard to learn a practical lesson. Could you repeat that last bit please? And then maybe the first bit?
Dan: "But first you'll need one thing, no two. Two things, no three. You'll need three things to start this project."
How bout 4 things: You need to start with three fingers to count on... but we covered that earlier in my shaving-with-an-axe video.
Love this guy! Love this channel!!
I've made tongs like that out of old broom sticks to handle live crabs.
Too bad you did not have a pencil on hand, Dan. You could draw eyes and teeth on your tongs for a REALLY fun project!!
Good one
Aaahhhh. You like chopsticks!?!?!
Nice. 👍🏻
My girl hates the woods I'm gonna make this next outing just to pinch her back cheek
Thanks. I want my rock rare. 😂
I've make one of these to cook sausages with
Great instruction... Thongs for the memories.
Cool!!
Hey Dan, just joined this channel and I’m looking for some good but long lasting bushcraft knives, what would you recommend???
I wonder what kindof vine that was, cat claw vine, wisteria? Anyways, thank you for the video?
Where did you get your knife?
Thx,
DS
Store stick.😊
"And this is a potato." Dan always slays.
But forget 'bushcraft'. This is the single only tool that my wife will allow me to use inside the house for transporting cat-gifts.
And if she's going to persist in bullying me into that stupid 'second-marriage-but-with-a-prenup' thing, then I either want Dan for my Best Man, or for my divorce lawyer. (...or just expert witness might do??)
ps: I've gone thru her phone and she doesn't seem to know Dan. So she still believes I invented this gidget. Not sure how Dan would list 'counselling skills' on his resume, but I would def give him an excellent personal reference... or act as character witness if he should ever find himself in divorce court over possibly a cat or fire-tongs deal-breaker-type issue.
Cool 🤗
Sweet!!! :)
Let’s go barefoot, search for a bison and throttle it with our bare hands
