‘Fancy Trains’….that’s probably not the general opinion here 😂 . Sometimes you forget what you have, until it’s either gone or you visit somewhere else
Perfection! I've only been in that part of the world a couple of times, and do I ever love it. I think doing that walk when it's hard ground was a good plan.
Looks like a pretty corner of England. I have friends from Alabama whose last name is Ely, who made a special trip to Ely, while visiting England, just to see their namesake town. Having followed your App Trail journey, this trail is sooo different from Tennessee & Virginia! Though it must be nice to have rail transportation at the beginning and end of your path
Thanks for following my AT trek Ely is a magical place…..and was more so hundreds of years ago when it was effectively an island in a marsh with a very powerful cathedral…..As it’s difficult to leave a car, most of my UK walks are planned around getting a train at each end. I’m not relying on the train for work, so don’t mind indifferent schedules In this part of England…it is very flat and very dry….
That looked like a great day hike, love those cold crisp mornings☀️❄ Is the pathway well signposted? Gonna have to do this, its not far from me.( I'm in Cambourne) 😀
I’m not sure there is a published route. It is fairly obvious if you leave from Cambridge, (just follow the tow path as long as you can) but an OS map 226 would cover it; as it covers the part closer to Ely
What a beautiful morning in Blighty. I always forget how fancy the English trains are. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️

Thank you. I did the walk in the opposite direction 30yrs ago when it was very muddy 😂. Learnt my lesson!

Other than the cold, it looks like you had a great weather day.
Yup. Crisp. No ups/downs 😂

Thanks. It’s not that well signposted, but it’s fairly obvious!. We walked it the other way 30yrs ago, and it was far easier this time
I want to do this walk (but the other way round). Have you any idea if there's anywhere I can find the route?
