Brother your video saved me tons of money on labor and took all the guess work out of the removal and install. Freaking appreciate you taking the time to provide this info to the world. Much love.
This video had a great tip for removing the lower brackets which hold the shroud on. I didn't remove but the old rad was still in the trash so all good. Thumbs up for that tip!
I completely snapped off the plastic connector on the upper driver side of the radiator. He's not kidding when he tells you to BE CAREFUL! JB waterweld has served me very well this last year, but coolant is starting to find its way out. I'm thinking of attempting the replacement if my patch doesn't work.
OMG THANK U SO MUCH FOR youR vidEOs i just installed an upper radiator hose and the mickey mouse hose on my 2008 bmw 328I you are awesome!!! bobber working fine..it was stuck..thank u Zeiten!!!!!!
I have a 2011 328i sulve Make sure it’s and oem radiator they denied mine because it was aftermarket and I didn’t know but they broke my cooling fan and they had to replace it with a new one.
Thanks for the DIY video. I love your knowledge & patience on these cars. Those O-ring hose connectors are always "stuck on" pretty good. I always use a plumbers silicon grease to coat the O-Rings for ease of install. Keep the video's coming
Great video man! My 2009 with 145K has had a small leak at the upper hose attachment for a few months now. Finally bit the bullet & am changing it out. My original had the blue drain plug. The Behr on I got looks to be the exact same one you have but looks like it is sealed instead of having a place to attach that blue screw in plug, is that correct? EDIT: Never mind that question, I'm an idiot and just realized that the blue drain screw is only used on the original BMW radiators. The Behr have a thick black screw. Will just drain it at lower hose anyway when the times comes since all those seem to crack. Again, thanks for the awesome video!
Your videos are by far superior than any others I've seen. I used you valve cover gasket on e90. Went great thanks to you. I have a wiper problem. I wipers do not park at home and only cycle twice before stopping. I have a new battery and wiper relay. Any other ideas? I tried to find a video of yours to help.
Thanks for sharing and good instructions. Reviewing to do this again. The replacement Mahle Behr Radiator just failed after 2 years /20k miles. South African POS.........I also found that hole for 25T Screw to mount transmission cooler hose was smaller than original German Behr Radiator on our 08 328it than the replacement SA. The hole should be the same diameter using the 25T self tapping screws. In all fairness I tried the Nissens first when I replaced it 2 years ago and "valving" leaked. Unfortunately, this, along turbos, more recycled plastic and poor quality control, end of the Naturally Aspirated In Line 6, is why I will not be buying any more BMWs - unless I look at vintage ones such as pre-2006 - BMWs are not what they used to be. Thanks again for sharing
Also with my upper radiator hose and lower main hose I had no issues taking those out now the smaller hose under the main bottom radiator coolant hose that one gave me soooo many issues. I had to fight it to pop it out. And then I had to fight it sooo hard for 2-3 days to put it back on then I realized I had to sand down my radiator inlet in order for the hose to fit on there I still struggled (which meant it wasn’t loose so thank god) to out it on but got it on there nice and tight after a good fight
If i changed the black plug with the blue screw inside and because the blue screw was stuck and now it keep leaking even with the new one should i replace radiator or what should i do wasnt leaking before i took the old plug out ?
So I have 2007 bmw 328i e90 sulev old owner took it to wrong shop and of course they didn't install right ozone rated censor oem radiator and left eac censor hanging it destroyed my fan assembly and the car was covered by warranty 120000 miles or 15 years old which ever is newer if only they took it to bmw they would have replaced it for free now I have to do work my self I bought the oem with Vin and oem fan shroud not cheap ...guys with sulev please take it to service center it would have been free under warranty through bmw ... I have six codes Hopefully that takes care of 02 codes and crank shaft pos censor ....is there any special procedures with sulev ?
Thank you, honestly not a fan of all aluminum radiators simply because they usually don’t fit right, also if normal radiator needs to be replaced every 10 years i think it’s not bad at all😁 also i’d rather crack radiation in case of overheating than head gasket, all aluminum would be great for track use for sure other than that i see no point
Thank you so much for another helpful video man. I needed valve cover gasket replaced and I followed your DIY video on that as well, thankfully you were working on a SULEV version which is what I have. While I was trying to be careful, in the end I unfortunately did break that little expansion tank hose trying to get the valve cover out. And as I was replacing that little hose I also broke that plastic part on Upper Radiator hose where one connects to another. It basically just fell off on it's own the second I touched it (gently, I swear 😄) And of course when trying to replace upper radiator hose I broke the radiator right there in that weak spot as you are showing here. So here I am watching the radiator video now! My car is 2007 328i, 130k miles and seems like these are all original parts, so I would probably needed to replace all of this soon anyway. I do have a question: since there are 130k miles on my car, Is it a good idea to replace all the hoses during this job as well? My upper hose seems pretty dirty on the inside. So, upper and lower hoses, and also oil cooler to radiator hose (this last one you said is okay to leave as is, but with 130k is that still the case?). And thanks again for taking your time to explain all the little details in your videos, you have the best BMW DIYs on UA-cam by far!
Thanks for watching, well i’d say go ahead and replace upper and lower radiator hoses along with transmission cooler hose, i would also recommend to replace one heater hose that goes to upper radiator hose other than that you should be fine on everything else. As for upper radiator hose breaking it’s normal those are always replaced in pairs with expansion tank to upper radiator hose so i’d say not your fault😉

@artgallegos5879 it’s usually 19mm plastic plug has to be turn counter clockwise 90 degrees and then you’ll just have to pull it out, it is sitting pretty tight in there so you might need to pry it out just be careful not to break the radiator. Behr/mahle doesn’t have that issue on 3 series

I don’t really like nissen for that reason, you can replace just a plug it has 2 o-ring seals
@@Zeiten don’t know how, I haven’t seen any videos about how to replace a drain plug
@@Zeiten at this point in think is better to returned these 2 radiators and get the one from berh
@@Zeiten thanks for help I really appreciate it

What exactly you want to see?
Would it be wrong if I use the same coolant but I’ll be draining the coolant from the drain plug
It most likely will be contaminated
@@Zeiten well it’s brand new coolant I kept adding since I have a leak
@hectorespinoza7641 if you manage to keep it clean from dirt and any debris then fine but better fill up with fresh coolant of course
@@Zeiten will do thx for the help
