Punggol North LRT Branch would not need to exist anymore now with this new station which is not a bad thing tbh. And I think Punggol Coast station can be considered sort of (while being the NEL terminus) an interchange station (out-of-transfer) with the Punggol LRT Line at Teck Lee LRT since these two are very close while both began operations 4 months apart which is good for the SIT students and JTC workers within the District and there is a bus interchange close to the new station as well

There is no official open house for Punggol Coast Station only Opening Ceremony. Therefore Train enthusiasts took the initiative to conduct an open house.
There is a reason why punggol coast open. 1. It serve the SIT students so it can reduce long queue at bus stops. 2. It serves residents living nearby punggol coast MRT.
I can totally understand their hype and imo is not that chaotic compared to places like HK where there can be people waiting and queuing for new stations to open the day before and rushing and screaming like hyenas all the way. The station staff even had trouble asking the humongous crowd to calm down and slow down…..ig we r not really accustomed to such chaos coz we tend to have a more peaceful society :)😅
... yeah this is the level that train enthus in singapore have gone to, especially after the psd incident at jurong. so much bad connotation for us train otakus just wanting to film for personal purposes

People were interrupting me every few seconds for selfies which is why this video is cut the way it is with missing components (no doors opening/closing or train arriving in some scenes). In fact this was the first event that I was forced to leave early due to how chaotic it was.. I was fortunate enough to have friends to crowd control so that I got a video at all..
It was a crazy debut for this new station, and you can hear kids shouting "OPEN OPEN OPEN!"
