I've been doing your feet strengthening routine for a month now (during the holidays) and on my first day back I managed to do a combination I have never managed before on pointe!! I can't thank you enough!
Thank you for these! I'm not a dancer, but I practice martial arts (taekwondo and kicboxing) and strong feet and ankles are very important for us too, since we pivot a lot during kicks. These are absolutely wonderful and I've started doing them daily!
I’ve been doing these exercises in flat shoes for the past year and a half, and I just found out that I’m ready to to on pointe! This video helped me so much and I am so grateful for it 😊
This was an awesome video! I'm no where near pointe, but I want to work on my balance because I suck at turning!!! But, I will work on my balance, and balance only! I don't want to hurt myself, but I admire how you are on pointe. Keep up the good work, toodles!
Love your videos! I would prefer the follow along format but I still appreciate the information provided. Thank you for taking the time to spread the knowledge!
Follow along video! That way I can rewhatch and make sure I'm doing the work out fully every time. Thank you so much for these videos I really appreciate the advice you have to give on everything dance.
This video with the voice over was great I liked that I could see your feet up close at different angles. This made each excerise clear so I could accomplish each accurately. Also as a novice ballet dancer it would also help to see a video and real time. Having both options for videos would be great, this way I could see the entire body throughout each excerise. Thank you very much for this video.
I have only just discovered your site and love it. I am an adult beginner and have no intention of ever doing point work. But I like the exercises ( rolling the ball etc... ) I prefer a workout style.
notes for myself! theraband: -pointe and flex 10x -keep foot pointed and lift 10x -bend knee and lift ankle flexed 10x -bend knee and lift ankle pointed 10x -roll through the foot with heel on floor 10x -reverse 10x balance -stand in middle and balance, rock from heel to toe -hold one foot in cupe and pile and hold for a second, repeat -petite battemant balanced -hold on demi pointe for as long as you want
Hi, Kathryn . Thank you for your nice video . It really is quite helpful . I got inspiration and also I am seeing bright future of my ballet exersise . I like your 2nd option that I do exeresise with you together .
I really loved this video. This video was the most helpful ankle strengthing video out right now. I would love it even more if it were in a follow along format. Thank you!
Cool. Thank you. I actually liked the series of exercises. I am an adult dude who is a dancer wannabe. I do pointe work but not brave enough to do center work. I feel heavier than ever....In summary. I'll try these exercises to be stronger....he he.... thank you again.
Great tips!! I like this format where you just display the exercises and then we can work on it on our own time. It's quick it gets to the point. I'm actually looking to strengthen my ankles increasing the stability I just had a ankle injury about 6 weeks ago. But I'm not a ballet dancer or anyting I do acroyoga.
I have just recently started back to point and I been struggling with my left foot instability. I think these exercises will be helpful. Personally I would prefer the workout version and going through the workout with you. Thanks again Elaine
Hi Kathryn, really good video! i think it would be great to do the follow along, this has really helped me with ponte, i just started last month and honestly this video has been a lot of help. so keep it going!
Hi loved this and would love actual beginner exercises to music and following a workout would suit me and jumps would be fabulous ,how to look light and not heavy!
I like the follow along/workout style but this video very useful too! Could you do a video on how you choose, sew, tie and break in pointe shoes? Thanks! I love the new series already!
Thank you for all those great exercises. There were some I have never seen. I like the fast videos better because I want to choose myself how much time I invest. And the short videos are better for checking back (and probably less intimidating and therefore will get more views...)
I want to tell you how much your videos have helped me! I am getting ready for my ballet exams in order to get into a better dance school. I really need your wonderful videos! I just want to ask you a question: I don't have a thera band and I don't really plan on buying one. Is there something else that I could use instead of it?
I like when you sit down and actually talk and do the exercises with us😜 I love you sooooo much kathryn morgan! I watch and do your exercises everyday! it's my daily routine lol. but I have a question, I was wondering if you could do a video on getting stronger for pointe for people don't have their point shoes yet and want to get strong for them?
I'm not Katie, but doing these exercises (without pointe shoes, so on Demi-pointe instead) will definitely help. I've been off pointe for a while and will be doing these exercises on demi until I've gain enough strength. Just remember it doesn't happen over night :)
I'm so excited to do pointe this year could you pls do a video on exercises for your ankles to make them stronger because u want exercise them for the rest of the time i have left before dance starts so I can get my pointe shoes asap
Hi Kathryn! Just wanted to thank you for another great video! I am working through all your videos on UA-cam as your explanations are great, always safe and really well explained and demonstrated. You really are a star to be sharing your experience and expertise with all us dancers trying to improve out here, so thank you so so much! ( Jocelyn, adult amateur in UK). Ps I like the workout DVD format, mostly because we get more contact with you as a real person ! ❤️
This is great! As you've already noted folks are saying: Yes, I'd love a follow-along-style video! Just getting back into pointe work after a 13 year absence (I'm clearly out of my mind), so this is much appreciated. Thank you!
I would love it if you could do inner thigh exercises in a video. I really need to work on mine. Also I have a lot and of trouble not using my quads I know you are not suppose to use them in ballet but if you have any tips, that would be very helpful. Thank you so much!
I don't see the amazon links for the equipment used in this video. I also have a question, My 14 year old daughter has been in dance since she was 5- taking a couple of breaks but always coming back to dance- she wants to start serious training so she can start pointe and try out for company in the next year or so. She has flat feet!! Are there foot exercises that would help with this? Also, what is some advice for someone who wants to take it all the way and become a pro dancer? Thank you in advance.
This is a great video for feet because its up close. You can see each move closely. You also state how many repetitions a person should do. However, I believe a workout video type format would be more beneficial, especially since they are not that common. :)
Hi Kathryn, I am an older competitive adult figure skater. I am adding some ballet to improve my on ice performance. I have a high arch and I find that sometimes when I point my foot to stretch, it cramps up in the arch. Any suggestions as to the cause and how to prevent cramping? Thanks! I enjoyed your new video and the music was perfect!
Thanks, this is great, I've learnt a few more exercises that I haven't seen before. I'd find it helpful to have a list of the exercises that I could have beside me (perhaps a pdf, or a part of your blog that can be printed off ?), with a photo & brief description of each exercise as a reminder.
Hey Kathryn ! I absolutely love your style and vibe of everything from your organization , accessories , etc . I was wondering if you could do a "What's in my dance bag?" video . Also , maybe a monthly favorite video ? Thanks so much Xx ❤️
Your feet are sooooooo good and you are an amazing dancer. Can you do a what's in my bag and snacks to eat in between rehearsals. Thanks for the videos you are making!
Could you do a video on how to strengthen your core for pointe? I know that I need to work on mine. I have trouble balancing without wobbling so I was hoping this might help. I do 100 releves a day (50 in parallel, 50 in 1st) I am getting better at holding my balance on passe while on releve so I know if I keep working on it, I'll keep improving. Thanks
I would also be interested to see ur advice on this issue in a tutorial💙💜💛I have always been hesitant to use " foot stretcher" equipment and don't want unnecessary injury✅thx Ana
Can you do a video on how to get on pointe because all my friends are on pointe and then there's me left in their shadows? I want to get on so bad so it will be helpful if you do do a video. thanks
Thank you for this video! I do prefer the follow along format. I recently purchased a theraband and found that it is too thin. Mine measures 5'x5". What size do you use in your video?
hi kathryn! thanks for this vid,i really need this video! but can u recomend me some of your videos related to these? i have a weak body but really flexible acording to my teaxher
Hiya, firstly I’d like to say thank you for the exercises and tips - and I would prefer a real time video over a voiceover. Second of all, I would love your advice on something. I am a dancer and love dancing so much, I am 15 and am currently doing my interfoundation course. However, I am not at all flexible and although I have started pointe, my feet are not strong enough to stay up for long enough, and my arch is not high enough to go fully up. I would love to one day become a professional dancer, but as many local dance schools are far too expensive, I was wondering if you had any more at-home tips that could help me progress further. Thank you so much, Ella, 15, UK
I love your videos Kathryn, thank you so much for sharing your insight and experience and making it accessible! I really love when you do the exercises with us in real time, but both options you're doing are fantastic! Thank you again! :)

Kathryn I have a question I just got on pointe and it’s only when I get on pointe when it hurts in the back of my ankle. So I googled pain in the back of the ankle and posterior ankle impingement came up. Right away I knew it was posterior ankle impingement. What should I do though to take away the pain? Should I get an X-ray Will these exercises help me or will they help it go away? I know this is for strengthening but I wonder if you could help me

Could you do a video for beginner pointe exercises ?
She already did
I like this style with voice over. Thank you
This was an awesome video! I'm no where near pointe, but I want to work on my balance because I suck at turning!!! But, I will work on my balance, and balance only! I don't want to hurt myself, but I admire how you are on pointe. Keep up the good work, toodles!
Alysha Middleton Thank you! And good luck to you!
:)
Omg I suck at turning too!!!
@@sofiasolanet5743 same 😭 😂
Love your videos! I would prefer the follow along format but I still appreciate the information provided. Thank you for taking the time to spread the knowledge!
Thank you! Most people want the longer format, too, so I will probably do that in the future! xo
This is an awesome video. I would enjoy a follow-along exercise type video as well. Thanks!
Levonia Austin Great! I created one. Hope you enjoy it! Feet & Pointe Work Strengthening Workout
Thanks! I'll be doing this over the summer for when ballet takes a break
I'm still dancing on demi-pointe, so could I just do the exercises you did in pointe shoes in my flat shoes and do the moves in demi-pointe? :)
Ioana Ilieva Yes absolutely! Great idea and that will really strengthen your feet.
i loved the voice over! and i also love to follow along! but this voice over gave very good essential pointers!!! thank you so much!
Follow along video! That way I can rewhatch and make sure I'm doing the work out fully every time. Thank you so much for these videos I really appreciate the advice you have to give on everything dance.
Heather Alers-Hankey rewatch
I like the voice over, I think this is a great Idea. I'm working up to pointe so I'll definitely use these exercises
Could you make a video on improving the way your foot looks in a pointe shoe? Like strengthening your arch or something like that?
This video with the voice over was great I liked that I could see your feet up close at different angles. This made each excerise clear so I could accomplish each accurately. Also as a novice ballet dancer it would also help to see a video and real time. Having both options for videos would be great, this way I could see the entire body throughout each excerise. I like the work out style! Thank you for the video!
This video is so helpful, thank you for making it! I enjoyed the format of this video but would prefer the the workout style video.
Thank you! Most people are saying that!
notes for myself!
theraband:
-pointe and flex 10x
-keep foot pointed and lift 10x
-bend knee and lift ankle flexed 10x
-bend knee and lift ankle pointed 10x
-roll through the foot with heel on floor 10x
-reverse 10x
balance
-stand in middle and balance, rock from heel to toe
-hold one foot in cupe and pile and hold for a second, repeat
-petite battemant balanced
-hold on demi pointe for as long as you want
Wonderful. I wish they'd had those wobble balance board things when I was ballet training.
They are so helpful!
Hi Kathryn 🌸 Can please let ur sub's know where u go to purchase balance boards and the other equip u use in ur videos? Thx!! Xo Ana🎀
Good exercises for the feet. I do yoga and need to strengthen my feet and ankles. This will be helpful. Ballet is so beautiful!
Hi, Kathryn .
Thank you for your nice video . It really is quite helpful . I got inspiration and also I am seeing bright future of my ballet exersise . I like your 2nd option that I do exeresise with you together .
Really helpful!!! Could you maybe do your favorite warmups and stretches???? Thanks for putting up these videos!!
Thank you! And Yes- great suggestion!
I really loved this video. This video was the most helpful ankle strengthing video out right now. I would love it even more if it were in a follow along format. Thank you!
Thank you! The majority of people are saying that! :)

Dani Morano Thank you so much!
Hi Kathryn, really good video! i think it would be great to do the follow along, this has really helped me with ponte, i just started last month and honestly this video has been a lot of help. so keep it going!

Thank you for the ideas for my pointe class! Love all your vids- keep them coming and I'll keep watching! You're great!
Thank you for all those great exercises. There were some I have never seen.
I like the fast videos better because I want to choose myself how much time I invest. And the short videos are better for checking back (and probably less intimidating and therefore will get more views...)
Very informative! Thanks, Kathryn.
Thank YOU!

I have been doing these exercises every day and my feet have improved so much with pointe work and balance. Thank you!

Can you do a class with these exercises. What exercises do you recommend to get up pointe on one leg? I just started with very basic pointe!
This is great! As you've already noted folks are saying: Yes, I'd love a follow-along-style video! Just getting back into pointe work after a 13 year absence (I'm clearly out of my mind), so this is much appreciated. Thank you!
Thank you for letting me know! And you are NOT out of your mind! :)
Kathryn Morgan Haha! Thanks!
I would love it if you could do inner thigh exercises in a video. I really need to work on mine. Also I have a lot and of trouble not using my quads I know you are not suppose to use them in ballet but if you have any tips, that would be very helpful. Thank you so much!

Wonderful Exercises! Thank you for sharing! I can’t wait to share with my Ballet Students.

I simply love your videos :) Please keep up the great work!
Hey Kathryn ! I absolutely love your style and vibe of everything from your organization , accessories , etc . I was wondering if you could do a "What's in my dance bag?" video . Also , maybe a monthly favorite video ? Thanks so much Xx ❤️
GREAT suggestions! Thank you so much!
Could you please do a video on safe ways to improve hyperextension such as knee stretches, theraband, etc? Thank you so much!!!!!!!!
You are amazing! I just found you out and love it! These videos will really helpe me in my hold life. Thank you!

wow thank you so much! how do you feel about ballet foot stretchers?
Well- depends on how you use it. You HAVE to be careful, otherwise you could really get injured which could ruin you later on. :)
Can you make a tutorial?
I would also be interested to see ur advice on this issue in a tutorial💙💜💛I have always been hesitant to use " foot stretcher" equipment and don't want unnecessary injury✅thx Ana
This videos are helping me
Can you do a video on how to get on pointe because all my friends are on pointe and then there's me left in their shadows? I want to get on so bad so it will be helpful if you do do a video. thanks
This is SO helpful! Thank you so much!
This was really what i needed. Thank you!
Is there anyway you could do a video showing all your dance tools/exercise equipment?
Yes please do that kind of video
My physiotherapist gave me the balance disk exercises and she told me a few pillows make a good substitute. Thanks for the great video!
Kelly Lewis Great idea! And thank you!
Thank you for this video! I do prefer the follow along format. I recently purchased a theraband and found that it is too thin. Mine measures 5'x5". What size do you use in your video?

Thanks Kathryn
The second option is better: You doing it with us in real time.
Thank you! I really love your videos
I really like the idea of the following along-workout video. Thanks
You are welcome! And that is the general comment! So I will do that format in the future! :)
I love your videos Kathryn, thank you so much for sharing your insight and experience and making it accessible! I really love when you do the exercises with us in real time, but both options you're doing are fantastic! Thank you again! :)
Could you do a video on how to make your arches better? Thank you!
This really helped me, thank you!!
This is really helpful thank you :) just a suggestion but could you do a yumiko collection video where you talk through all the ones you have - what style, colours and materials?
I love your channel, you just got another subscriber
Could you also do a video on how to get higher developpes? That would help a lot. Thanks!
A wish for the next Exercises-video - Find your center/strengthen your core :) Love you videos!
I have just subscribed to your channel, because I love your instruction format... bravo, Kathryn..:-)
I honestly love this video so much;)
I wrote these all down in a note book so I can do them in class😍😍 this helped so much thank you! ~ could you do a video on what to pack for a short dance course (I'm going to ENB in Feb 2016 to do a weekend course and I'm not sure if I should take my wobble board or flexistretcher?! Or what Leo's to wear and skirts?! Thank you! ❣) xxxxxxx
I would enjoy a follow along video
Kathryn I have a question I just got on pointe and it’s only when I get on pointe when it hurts in the back of my ankle. So I googled pain in the back of the ankle and posterior ankle impingement came up. Right away I knew it was posterior ankle impingement. What should I do though to take away the pain? Should I get an X-ray Will these exercises help me or will they help it go away? I know this is for strengthening but I wonder if you could help me
Great video! How often would you suggest doing these exercises?
KK Plum I would say 2-3 times a week.
I prefer the workout style! Loved this anyway! ❤️
Could you make a video on how to stretch etc. to get the arabesques up higher?
Yes! I will put that on the list.
I’ve been dying to do pointe my ballet teachers believe I need one more year and think I can do pre point next year I’ve been looking at you excersizes and they said I’ve improved and they said you will be on pointe shoes in grade 8 I’m in grade 6
I would like the format of fitness kind of routine, although love this one. I was wondering if you could show any other exercises with the theraband to make my foot stronger for pointe. Thanks :)
Is it bag that I used my hoverboard for the disk board? I flipped it over to the back side and balanced while it was off
