I'd never want one of these unless she was a wagon but damn this car is very straight and should be saved but I guess the car needs an AMC fan to do so. Thanks for posting
I bought a 1959 Rambler Ambassador in 1974 when I was 17 for $100.00. The guy said he had to drive 3 hours to pick up the title but he would write me a receipt and I could take the car, which I did. Never did see him or the title afterwards. So, since I couldn't register it, my friend and I bajaed through the woods in it until it couldn't take it anymore and gave up the ghost. I didn't care, I bought a 67 Pontiac LeMans 2 dr for $350.00 by then.
"It's a Mordoor!" You say that like it's an insult, sir!😁 Seriously, a commenter said it would take an AMC fan to save this car...if only I had the space, tools, and budget. Besides, I'm used to bringing home cars other people don't look at twice.
Benny and the jets that is a cool car for a more door. Because you just don't see any of them. Probably would be easy to get running. Merry Christmas to you and your mom.
LOVE THE GRILL AND THE RAMBLER NAME STANDING UP!!!!! THIS HAS STYLE ALMOST LIKE THE 50S ....MY SON MAX 9 YR. OLD SAYS LIKE OUR 1958 DODGE CUSTOM ROYALE , SWEEP WINGS , BUT A SMALLER CAR... SAME PUSH BUTTON ,TRANS.. HOPE IT CAN BE SAFED..
Remember the Rambler. Relative had one. Rode all over in that car. That one brought back such good memories. Like to know what they were asking for her.
thats a really cool car you never see much about anything amc unless its about there jeep engines even thought its a 4 door thats super cool i hope it saved its look solid and pretty complete
Get it, you won't regret it! That is awesome, but strangely optioned. No radio, super base model, probably no power steering or brakes yet it has factory a/c (and that was excellent a/c)
Thats a 60 Rambler six (V8s were called Rebel) Deluxe, the Super and Custom had 4 headlights. Most Deluxes were fleet vehicles since they were the cheapest. I had a '60 Super wagon (Cross Country, in Ramblerspeak), 8 passenger, with the side opening tailgate. I also had a whole set of fenders and doors off of a Deluxe.
Whoa Nelley, 1960 and gotta go. Simple Simon car, that's for sure. Part of the "Almost a Car" and "All Makes Combined" legacy. LOL. We got the VIN, we win: C for Rambler six-cylinder equipped, and the rest is the production sequence. This should have the 3.2L (196 CID) six-cylinder engine, aka "Typhoon", rated at about 127 HP. They were assembled in the Kenosha, WI plant which eventually would come under the Chrysler umbrella by 1987 and closed as an assembly plant actually on this day, Friday December 23, 1988. It then operated for a time as an engine plant until about 2010 and the site was razed around 2012. Luke AMC was started by the family of J. Gilbert Luke who just died in 2024. They also sold Pontiacs and Hondas over the years. We got the tag, we can brag: 6015 for Rambler Classic Deluxe four door, 21 for Gray/Black/Platinum/Charcoal interior trim, 72 for Frost White exterior paint, among other codes. This should have a Borg-Warner supplied automatic transmission. This was about as simple as it got. Even then, AMC was buying parts from everyone, because they had a small budget compared to the other Big Three. Whoa Nelley, "Lord, I was born a Ramblin' Man" (Allman Brothers/Brothers and Sisters/1973) and this one is ready for the trash can. 3.2 and it's over for you. Straight six hit the bricks. Painted Polar White and soon to be out of sight. That's it, time to quit. Possibly off the road in 1975 and may not still be alive. Going to be flat and that's that. Sold new by Luke and the idea of it going away makes some want to puke. Going to get squished and many here, maybe Benny and only slightly so for the Google Man is everyone going to be a bit pissed.
I owned two of these 1960 models. Pretty good cars but they were both oil burners after they got 100,000 miles on them. Front ends had what were called trunions on them with coil springs. One car was a push button transmission and the other was a 3 on tree. Rounded glass front and rear. Cool cars but ugly as the day was long. I was glad to have them back when I was a young father of three and couldn’t afford anything better at the time. I paid $500 for one of them and I inherited the other one.
I am not so high falutin to get something like that. My 1939 Ford Standard will continue to get me from point A to point B. I don't need a 1960 model to impress others.😤
I think it's an "eye of the beholder" car. I think you'd spend much more than it'd be worth, for a poor-performing, mediocre car even when new. But, as I say, to each their own.
Thanks Benny. Merry Christmas !
American automotive simplicity at it's best.
Very Nice Project 👌 👍
Comrades, it's unbelievable... The car is sixty years old and stands on its wheels... Incredible quality, durability..
That’s what I say about myself everyday 😂
I'd never want one of these unless she was a wagon but damn this car is very straight and should be saved but I guess the car needs an AMC fan to do so. Thanks for posting
Buy it Benny !
RARE RARE RARE with bc the AC. Definitely worthy of restoration. Cold War Motors candidate for certain!
I agree - it would be quite at home up North.#coldwarmotors

If it’s only the floor boards which have gone away, you could fix that relatively easily and ramble on!
Thanks buddy happy hoildays ✌️🫡💪🤶/ keep up good work 👍
Another great video Benny! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The body the '60 Rambler had, was first used in '58.
@@ramblerdave1339 THANK'S DAVE...

That is interesting to see that '60 Rambler has single headlights. All the others I'd seen had double headlights.
🏁 Benny awesome video on this car! Awesome find Benny!! Benny you and your family have a great merry Christmas!! 🇺🇲🏁🏁🏁😎🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

💯💯💯👍✌
I used to have a 64 rambler wagon
AC, push button tranny from back in the 60’s? Amazing little car
I can imagine these cars being driven all over Cuba as taxis 🤔

Awesome find. did you figure out what they wanted for it? If it was up here in Canada, near me, I would have so been dealing on it!
Wow..bee😢 around 4x the amount of years it was in the road

Small block Chevy project!

Too much of an upgrade for me . I don't want people to think I came into a lot of money recently 🙂🙃 4:20
Is this the car that Andy Anderson had in Life With Louie?
CHARLES MANSON had the same car! HELTER SKELTER!!!
Where is it located?
I bueno on that floor panel
Basic transportation.
Puzzling a De luxe model has so many options. O and doors not opening is not necessarily a good sign of structural integrity.
You would have to have some fabrication skills to fix this one.
