  • Nickel Creek - the string band comprising Sara Watkins, Sean Watkins and Chris Thile - have been delighting audiences since they were in their teens, but with long-running and wide-ranging music careers, they hadn’t released an original album together since 2014.That changed during the pandemic, when they suddenly got that spark to work together again. The resulting album is "Celebrants," released on March 23 of this year.

    Such a beautiful flow/pattern, sounds like what knitting feels like! And the way the bass gets out right before the snap at the end of the interlude, got me giggling with joy.

    "March 23 of this year" in the description should say "last year" since this is being posted in 2024 (although I'm sure it was recorded in 2023). Beautiful rendition!

    if possible - listen with decent speakers or headphones to get the full effect of those double-bass notes

      I'm not Chris, but it is a mandola (tuned CGDA) that was made by my friend Lawrence Smart.
