So if it's entirely made it's would be very strange that they made a Geet the hero and not one of their own.

If I might be so bold, the Anglo-Saxons were not Danes. They were Angles and Saxons that migrated to England around the late 5th and 6th century. The Danes began raiding at the end of the 8th century, part of the Viking age. They did indeed hold to variations of Germanic paganism (Woden/Odin) but the people were not one and the same, nor their histories always parallel. There were a few cultural differences which may seem unimportant to us but would have been very important to them.

Kratos and/or Atreus vs Beowulf! I mean, sure Beowulf isn't necessarily Norse Myth, but it is Scandanavian, so it could be feasible to have that fight. Like one that would begin kinda like Kratos' fight with Baldur, where Kratos (or Atreus) tells him that he doesn't want a fight with a demigod, but Beowulf just attacks anyway. I could see that happening.
Plus if Santa Monica managed to get the vibes that this theme gives off without ripping off the Beowulf movie, that would be pretty sweet, too.

hate to be that guy, but tho the saga of beowulf was written in old english by an anglo saxon scholar, the poetic saga its self takes place between geatland ( mordern day sweden ) and denmark roughly near the town of lejre and beowulf himself is born and eventually becomes king of the geats, so does make it a norse saga, because alot of the other sagas werent written by norsemen excluding the icelandic sagas

They used Englisc (old English) here and there in the movie and allude to his name being a kenning for bear 'the bee-wolf, the bear' that gives it some grounding and a sense of time and place. I don't really care for Greek Herakles.

@@Peusterokos1 Pagan Norse extinct? They didn't really convert to Christianity until the 9 th / 10th century. If you mean Pagan Germanics then Beowulf was written around the 5th Century when the vast majority of people were pagans .
It's difficult to say if it's Germanic or Scandinavian , written in Old English but Beowulf was a Geat and the story took place in the Scandinavian countries.
