Thanks for sharing! I just started using acid dyes too. FUN! I'm not sure because I'm brand new to this dyeing process, but would "think" that holding the dye over the steam might get too much moisture into the container if there will be any remaining dye in it. I used a little measuring spoon to play it safe. The feather colors you ended up with look amazing!

Freddy Block Thanks Freddy, i never so far had any issues getting moisture in so far but using a measuring spoon sure sounds better 👍

Good demonstration 👍 what colours would you use to make a hot orange? I would presume red and yellow but not sure on how much, cheers.

Where do you get the white turkey feathers? I just started dying feathers and at the moment I am stuck with goose for my married wings, and I don't have a ton of money to spend on dyed turkey.

It depends, it’s hard to find in good quality and large numbers. Have a look in your area of Turkey farms and what speices they raise, If White ones then drive by and have a chat with the owner.

I’m using citric acid to bind the colors to the feathers

I source feathers from a lot of different places, friends, cookshill in UK, feathersmc in US, China, in a few forum on facebook and by people reaching out to me and of course on fairs.
