Evening Nick. I enjoyed the 'slap 'em on the carpet' 45's presentation. You showed two of my faves - Ashes to Ashes and Robert de Niro's Waiting, which I've been known to listen to on repeat all afternoon. I once played keyboards in a Ska band that did a bloody awful version of 'Cars' - don't think I've ever clapped eyes on the 45 picture sleeve of that.

I don't know much about Toyah so it's fun to see her stuff. Love how you feature the singles. I wonder what ever happened to Kim Carnes. That "Betty Davis Eyes" song was big hit back in the day. By the way, I watched that video about the Beat Girl Bridgette. Wow. What an interesting life. I had no idea about her personal background. Thanks for flagging that video up. The Leeds Record Fair sounds like it should be an amazing event.

Whatever happened to KIM CARNES ??? a bit of a one hit wonder here in Britain,though I'm sure I've got another 7" single by her,I'll have to have a look 🤔 I thought you'd enjoy the Beat Girl documentary,I'm really looking forward to the follow up 👍👍👍 I'm really looking forward to going up to Leeds and meeting vc friends etc... I think my phone camera is going to be busy that day !!!
You know I often watch Robert Fripp & Toyah's vid's but to be honest I had never heard any of Toyah's stuff before. Love seeing the 7"s 👍and the Numanoid is the man. I like the Ike & Tina stuff although there was some very problematic things going on in the background. Ian Dury is a legend! Nice stuff Nick. Cheers...Ben
