Would you recommend doing a completion style run the first time, or save the fun stuff for your second run when you have more buffed gear? I’ve made the mistake of trying to complete everything the first play through on many RPG’s that I had the intention of playing multiple times and there’s times I wish I saved that stuff for my 2nd more experienced run.
Agreed! Game is awesome. Having a blast with Mercenary. Was thinking also for Monk and Warrior but don't regret picking Merc. So many ways to approach combat and kill enemies. I have this skill that reloads the crossbow with ice ammo that acts like an Diablo 2 Necromancer Bone prison. You can cover the entire screen in ice and everyone gets stuck. including you. It's great haha!
The game is so good, feels now way closer to diablo 1 or 2 imo with lots of soulslike influence + it still has the great endgame of the original and the complexity. Great sequel.
Good stuff Werglia..I completely agree. Especially with the part of the developers listening to the people complaining. If they make it easier I think it will lose a huge part of what makes it so good. It feels like it's at the minimum difficulty requirement to me. You can get into a nice flow state with your skills and the dodge roll that feels really good.
so 10 times better, and you had 10 000 hours on poe 1 so 100 000 h estimated /24 = around 4000 days , around 10 years i think i will get my money worth XD joke aside i love long games to learn. because are healthy (taking time addiction a side) because learning stuff in real life also takes time , patience, and gettign a payoff
Dude, the entire reddit is flooded with veterans saying the game is too hard and can barely be played. Its not just casual that are complaining. I did not play POE 1, just a bit of of the campaign and I did not enjoy it. I am getting to act 3 right now. I also like the difficulty a lot. Feels really good. Don't forget you are crazy dude. You will play the same fight in Pathfinder 40 times untill you get lucky 10 times in a row. You are not in a good place to say what is easy or what is not. You are one of the few crazy people that can play WoTR on Unfair. And in reality, many stuff there is not fair (lol), but you still persist over and over and over and over. So you have tolerance for that, you are too far from what the majority of people consider as easy/hard/fair etc. But yeah, so far I am enjoying A LOT the difficulty. I do believe it needs to get a bit easier, that will be good for the majority of players. But just a bit easier... maybe improve loot a bit too. Playing the campaing and it being easy is SO BORING to me, no challenge at all, so I hope they keep the dificulty.
In my experience, "veterans" and Reddit is an oxymoron. Maybe there are a lot of people on there that have played the game for years, but the ignorance on Reddit (about all topics, not only gaming) is absolutely mind boggling. Reddit mostly has a young ignorant demographic and even so called "veterans" there are usually lacking in the basic skill department (like basic observation and deduction). Werglia is what i would call a true "veteran" not only because he has many hours in PoE 1, but because he has the age that proves he was born in a different time and place. People above 35 - 50 will concur, you needed critical thinking skills in the early days of gaming, and the ability to change your playstyle by learning from your mistakes. You won't find those kind of people on Reddit, i can tell you that.
I have played a lot of arpgs but I only invested a few hours in PoE 1. I dont feel that if you've played PoE 1 then the game feels easier. Its all about the class you play, I was playing warrior until lvl 30 and it was a pain in the ass with some bosses and still could defeat them in a few tries. I got mad and switched to mercenary and I'm obliterating the game. Its all about the class you play. Some clases are simply much stronger in early game than others, dont know about late game

I like the dedicated dodge mechanic. Makes the boss fights more interesting.

My only gripe with the game right now is how rare currency and items are. Diablo 4 at least did a better job with the crafting.
