This song and Modal Soul saved me from the most intense anxiety and stressful situations, whatever were the context (job related, relationship related, burn out, name it) I had in my life, like legit brought my soul back on earth when I thought I would not make it. Nujabes might not have produced it, and I thanks and bless DSK and Uyama Hiroto, the artists that did, but I'll be forever grateful to nujabes for making those instrumental masterpiece known and accessible. They are gift for our spirit, healing it on an instant.
The greatest music has never needed lyrics to preach to the listener about how to feel or in what way to be moved. When it truly touches something the music speaks for itself. It doesn't lead you in a particular direction. Rather it compels us simply to be moved - each in our own direction. When simplicity in music results in complexity of movement, and touches every listener in such a way, 'Art' truly has been achieved, and there is nothing left to be said...
This song really sounds like something you'd hear while transitioning from one life to the next..or death. Calm, mysterious, exciting. I only discovered nujabes last night (while watching a Street Fighter IV tutorial. It was playing over the video) and I was blown away. So sad he's gone but he's left us a great gift :) RIP nujabes
I agree with this statement so much. I never have been a person to listen to the lyrics of the song very much (although im trying to change that, but honestly it takes a lot of effort). I've always felt like the instrumental portion of songs themselves are speaking about things, and I can actually understand the emotions of it.
