Experiments are everything. I had this 802x course with Walter Lewin and till today (10 years later) I still show those videos to my students. After all it's hard to find good experiments to show to our students. Make them ourselves is expensive, so Mr. Lewin's experiments help a lot my students to understand physics SEEING it !!! Thank you Mr. Lewin 🙏

Indeed, your way of explanation and demonstration of physical stuff make us love Physics!
Being an Indian High School student, I am going through these wonderful lectures to have a better clarity and strong grasp over the concepts. Doing tons and tons of numericals by just remembering the related formulae and direct results and not giving much attention towards why and how, is like eating kgs of edible stuff without acknowledging the nutritional value of those.

I started learning physics again because it is a requirement before picking an engineering field for uni, and I had already kind of had my mind set on programming and computer sciences. But watching these videos and just getting to read a physics book on my own terms without someone trying to force equations down my throat, I've become in every sense of the word addicted to physics. I am spending anywhere between 6-8 hours a day now, if not doing assignments, atleast listening to your lectures, and it's not to pass some test or get some grade, but because it's just fun. Pretty cool how all it can take is one persons enthusiasm to spark a love for something. I'm going to choose a major in physics, and you're part of the reason why. Thanks.

These are great :D Getting more into electricity/electric engineering and I always hated when I was told to not worry about how things work on a deeper level and just learn Ohm's law (which is of course a valid law, but I always wanted to know where it comes from, and get a mental picture of how stuff works on a more fundamental level). And this really helps. As a side-benefit I even get to refresh my math a bit on the assignments

If I had one wish, I believe i would certainly consider wishing for ten thousand Walter Lewins to teach the world physics. Imagine what a wonderful world it would be if everyone had a teacher and role model like him. Unfortunately, I was never able to attend a university and receive a proper education, so i have to settle for watching lectures on UA-cam and taking free classes on EdX. It must have been great to have the experience of learning physics directly from Professor Lewin. He is an amazing man

One lecture of sir Walter on which he rubs silk rod by cloth was basically meant that charge can be removed from silk rod by rubbing cotton cloth such that now if we take that rod to any neutral body then it will do polarize that body and body will be attracted because distance difference from rod and it will be attracted same experiment like scale attract piece of paper when u rub with your oiled hair.. Remember use those material in which charge can be removed by rubbing don't use wood other things..

Myself and most other physics teachers I have worked with are perfectly capable of teaching this same material in the same way. Actually most of this is just high school level Physics even though he is teaching it to MIT college students whose parents are paying a fortune in fees.

@@gweilospur5877 Keep in mind that MIT is only a very mediocre University. That's why only 98 people who studied at MIT or who lectured there received a Nobel Prize. *That's very embarrassing.* Luckily you got a much better education.
