There needs to be a sign in every gym, in every deadlift area, that gives clear instructions on how to properly deadlift. It’s a lot of people’s natural inclination to bend by the back.
In the gym i go to there are two commercials of Nike inside. On one of them the guy does front squat, on the other he deadlifts. Both completely wrong position

His bench is great for his weight and his muscles look better than most people in the gym despite having the obvious disadvantage that most machines, benches and everything would be a LOT more difficult to setup on and use the same.. aka no legs to floor for drive or balance. Props to him for having a no excuses attitude 👊

As a programmer: looks like it only scans for a valid barcode/qr code, and planet fitness hired IT guys from India, because it's pretty obvious you have to check the id you get from it aswell.
One thing I've learnt from these videos is if you look like a fish out of water while doing the exercise then you're probably not doing anything beneficial🤣
A lot of videos of people passing out while trying to lift. I'm pretty sure they are not bracing, just holding their breath and that's why they are fainting.
You do hold your breath while you are bracing so what's the difference? It's caused by a lack of blood flow to the brain, so if you're not breathing while under huge strain from a heavy load your blood pressure can spike and suddenly drop your brain is temporarily deprived of oxygen. There are mitigating circumstances, but most of the time people pass out they spend a long time grinding through a sticking point which, presumably, being properly braced will allow you to attempt for longer.
@@outlimboed Yes you hold your breath when you brace but there is a big difference in bracing properly. It's hard to hold a good brace properly under load, much harder than just holding your breath. At breaking point you'll be forced to exhale. Just to prove my point, go and look at top strongman or powerlifting competitions and find someone feinting on a squat or deadlift. You won't find it.
If you bring pepper spray to the gym you are LOOKING for a fight/trouble!
