Interesting that for decades an abridged version of this was shown under the 1960 Saperstein-produced TV Magoo imprimatur (with the jaunty theme music and the "Oh, Magoo, you've done it again" ending). The animation does seem better than those tended to be.
UPA boss Steven Bosustow lost the distribution contract with Columbia Pictures and tried to distribute shorts independently. That was the final money-loser that caused him to sell the company to Saperstein.
looks amazing
Great short 🤣

UPA's two most memorable characters meet!
It's nice to see the Rod Scribner-animated intro and ending be associated with something at least half-decent this time.
They seemed to have used it after the "Ham & Hattie" shorts for quite some time.
He also did work for Jay Ward and Bill Melendez. The latter was once an assistant animator to Scribner.
Love That Color in this print! ❤❤❤❤❤
Yes, Me too! It's in Technicolor and it traditionally looks great for years.
This cartoon also contains missing scenes that never seen before.
Even original.lab leaders at end!
