    This is one of the better 4.0 matches i’ve seen! great playing from your brother

    They were both playing very well! And I think the guy in black is not a pusher. I would call him more of a counter puncher/baseliner who has a smart change of pace. His strokes especially his backhand is too strong to be a pusher.
    Good video!

      Yeah sorry, you’re right! I meant counter puncher. Thanks for watching!

    I am really impressed how the black shirt player kept his balance with every strokes. Decent 4.0 match! Appreciate to both players!

    Black shirt is a really good counterpuncher and he moves really well, your bro did a great job playing so patiently on the long points

    If someone ever asks me "How good are/were you (broken down Sr bracket now) I'm going point at white shirt(your bro). This match is me vs an ex small college non scholarship #5 guy before he had kids and put on 20 lbs. When he was fit I could not get through his defense and his counter-punch would overwhelm my net game. This is what playoff caliber 4.0 ball looks like. Sectionals would feature black shirt and up.

    Great job to your bro! Man my ocd of seeing that ball lying there at 40-15 would have driven me nuts and I would have for sure lost the point haha.

    The level of this match is oretty high, closer to 4.5 than 4.0 IMO the only thing really missing is the ability put balls away at the net

    • @lawrencechang3783
      @lawrencechang3783 Рік тому +1

      Thanks! I avoid the net at all costs.

    • @escgoogle3865
      @escgoogle3865 Рік тому

      Yep, off the ground they could hang with low tier 4.5's but white shirt is too slow and neither showed off 4.5 level net skills.

  • @meinsouza
    @meinsouza Рік тому +3

    that definitely feels like 4.5 play

    I was also going to say is the guy in the black shirt is a counter puncher! Congrats to your brother on his win!

    Lawrence is playing again? Thats cool. Tough loss for my team that night. It's good to see people that played back in juniors playing competitively again.

      @@lawrencechang3783 ya mainly saw your brother Jonathan at the various tournaments since we progressed to supers at same age levels. Your dad and my dad always got along while at the tournys. Seems so long ago haha. Glad you picked the sport back up and playing well!

    I think I've been struggling with nerves. I'll definitely start focussing on deeper breathing. I think my main fear is being in a position where the match is on my serve and I get so nervous I double fault to lose the match. I know that's happened to every player out there. Even Djoker. He double faulted the final of a French Open against Nadal about 10 years ago. But I think you need to get out of the mindset to try not to mess up rather than to be locked in to win the point. Anyway, good video.

    • @ChangBangTennis
      @ChangBangTennis  Рік тому

      It's cliche but in addition to deeper breathing, you can try to focus on the present. If you're worried about a double fault, start that game with a faster 2nd serve as a 1st serve to make yourself more comfortable. If you're feeling good, you can hit a regular first serve on the 2nd point of the game. Yes, find a way that works for you! Thanks for watching!

      Yeah, it's funny, you can see the silhouette of Changbang's compact strokes there, ready to handle Soderling forehands and Isner serves, and then his opponent is looping in 4.0 balls.

    Excellent composure to recover in the beginning. His backhand is 5.0 until he takes his left-hand off; then 2.5

    Great match. Your brother did well 👏 Though I don't think it was 4.0 NTRP at keast 4.5 NTRP I guess. Your brother's opponent has a great footwork (5.0 NTRP one). But your brother's serve is defenitely 5.0 ntrp level. Good coaching from yoy 🎉

    If he is more of a 4.5, he is sandbagger and hopefully he get's dq'd. If he played college he is a 4.5. If not he can be 4.0.

    • @lawrencechang3783
      @lawrencechang3783 Рік тому +1

      Didn't play college or high school. I would say I'm a 4.5 indoors, but outdoors is a different game!
