Josephine Hull is so wonderfully funny. I have never laughed so much at anyone else, and over and over again!!A lovely lady too, I think. Thanks for posting this. I recommend this film as a real tonic for anyone
In this movie, Josephine Hull-- 'IS', the Jewel-in-the-Crown. She is so deliciously hilarious; her performance, almost an allegory of the 'Everyman', caught in the incongruities of Life, and winds up the babbling fool, who is living with a fact that the Emperor, is in fact 'NOT' wearing any clothes. This scene, and the one with Dr. Chumley in the 'portrait scene' are just too damn funny. Love this movie!
oh my gosh! it was a different style of comedic acting for a different time. she was a very famous, popular stage actress - also created famous roles in Arsenic and Old Lace and You Can't Take It With You.
Josephine Hull was the real gem in this film. Comic genius ! As much as I enjoy HARVEY, the movie would fall flat without Ms. Hull. ❤❤❤

She was so adorable in this movie.all she wanted to do was help her brother.you just feel so sorry for her.
