Thank you Faith! Glad you enjoyed it. I could not have asked for any better lighting conditions, or that unplanned chucking of the stone into the river right next to where I was filming my piece to camera intro! It is one of my Cornish coastal favourites. Take care, Paul
Thanks Paul for showing us this ‘unknown’ part of Cornwall. I enjoyed the walk! Did I imagine that the sound was much sharper? Closed my eyes & could have been there too! I did notice an absence of seagull calls which makes a change- heard crows? I hope the new wall defences there can protect that shoreline for a while. I did read somewhere that the Govt weren’t going to fund sea defences anymore so presumably Cornwall is funding the scheme?
Thanks Diana! Although we have now left the EU, they are still funding legacy projects that were agreed prior to us leaving. The EU has supported Cornwall a lot in the past because it is one of the very poorest regions in Europe. Thanks for your kind words regarding the sound quality - it was all to do with different editing styles - although this is impossible to do in noisy environments. Yes, there were, surpisingly, a lot of crows hunting in the rock pools! I am not sure what they feed on there. As you say, an absence of gulls too - again surprising. Thanks for your kind words and watching my little videos of the Westcountry. Take care, Paul
Looks a delightful place. I've heard about the Seaton in Devon, but not this one. The latter had a railway, now a tramway, so you wonder what changes a railway might have brought, had it been built. More dwellings for sure and more visitors to the beach, but hopefully the shoreline would have remained unspoilt.
Hello Malcolm! I prefer this one - a lot! I'm not so keen on the other one (think it is an urban size thing), but I do like the Tramway there. I really like Colyton though - nice town! I am personally glad that this planned railway didn't go ahead - it would have over-developed the coast here, and it would have almost certainly meant the end of the lovely Looe branch from Liskeard. It would have cost a fortune to build with all those tunnels and viaducts! Hope you have a brilliant weekend. Take care, Paul
Seaton is lovely and as you say a lot quieter than some places. This was just a fantastic relaxing watch. Great footage and as always top info. Great job Paul. 👌🏻
Thank you! Yes I prefer South East Cornwall over the rest of the Duchy, although I do like The Lizard. Hope you have a good weekend. Finally, the rain has stopped! Cheers, Paul
Hello Paul - greetings from Poland What a wonderful video. Your camera work was exceptional, so much of the sea shore and sounds relating to it. The new audio was suoerb. I always listen to your vlogs through headphones, but this was extr,a special. A fabulous walk along the seashore to Downderry. Gorgeous scenery along the coast, especially those long shots back to Looe and Looe Island. The sensory garden and country park were very beautiful too.
Thank you so much Michael! Yes, I try to get my audio as best as I can, and because there was little extraneous noise here, I tried to get it to sound as good as I could. Thanks for your kind words regarding my photography/videography too. Both me and my daughter were lucky with the weather that morning - it seems like it has rained all day every day since! Take care, Paul
Lovely relaxing video.again Paul. When i was walking the SW coast path i got caught out by the tide coming in and had to scramble over the rocks there to get back on the path. Not easy with a heavy back pack and my dog. 😂😉
Thank you Shaun! Yes, just a very short walk this one, as I was heading back to Gloucestershire later that day. I do really like this part of the South West Coast Path. I have got a much longer walk along the SW CP that I filmed at the end of last month coming soon. Sorry to hear that you got caught out by the tide - it is very easily done! Take care, Paul
Hi Paul, I thought for a moment .... Seatons not in Cornwall!! I even had my favourite Seaton Tramway mug with my coffee as well but no matter as I got to see another place I've never been to before!! Certainly an interesting shoreline to walk along, for a very brief moment you had a couple of rainbows behind you. The seashore sound was excellent, well done👌👌 Interesting to see the plan for the branch down to Looe, it must have been one of the last railway expansion plans they had on the table in a few short years it would be inconceivable to start planning a new railway. Thanks for taking me along. Have a great weekend!!
Hi David! I must admit I prefer this one to the one in Devon - that one is too urban for my liking. I do like the Tramway there though, and particularly the nature reserve and the lovely town of Colyton - known as the most rebellious town in Devon! After the Monmouth Rebellion. Yes, I think you are right! It would have been one of the very last ones planned - personally I am glad it did not go ahead as it would have 'destroyed' what is here and Beeching would definitely then closed the Looe Branch (he tried to, but Barbara Castle interviened and saved it - if that line was there, it would have meant less justification for keeping it open). Have a great weekend! Paul
@@westcountrywanderings I must admit I don't know Seaton, only been there for the tramway. The first time we went we were lucky enough to see a Kingfisher whilst travelling on the tram. I'm sure we will have something on film but it's unlikely to be of good quality!!
@@davidberlanny3308 yes, the nature reserve is a SSSI and managed by the RSPB. It is on my list to do next year. A wonderful spot and you get a great view from the top deck of the trams. 🚃 Photographing Kingfishers is hard!
No! Definitely not. I would hate that. When it rains and the sun shines at the same time you always get a rainbow due to the prism effect of the light through the water droplets. Where it appears is always a little difficult to predict though. I did not notice the rainbow on the day, only during the edit process. Thanks for watching and commenting John - always a pleasure to hear from you. Cheers, Paul
That was an audio & visual delight. What a charming place, thanks for sharing it with us.
