Let's be honest we all blamed hotshot for getting in optimus way when it comes to killing megatron but like Christopher said optimus gives time to talk it out with megatron, the one who begs for mercy when he has known to be the trickiest and will dirty no matter what? Optimus is a good leader and cares about the autobots but I think I can see why rodimus can be better. Even with Rodimus questioning his leadership he still does his job and gets it done right. Making the young and hotheaded bot who heart was in the right place and also lets be honest he has a good choice in that vehicle mode haha
Rodimus was the better leader check the resume! Look at who got the most done with no casualties? Optimus was the one as the placeholder? He said he wasn't the chosen one? He beard the responsibility until one day the chosen one would light there Darkest hour! Optimus gets way to much credit?
I watched it again? Rise of the Beast was so terrible to Optimus character as well as most live action movies I had to see him and appreciate the original cast of 86 again! The original Unicorn was way better? How can't they just break even with 86 animated movie in 86? Characters development! If haven't seen it all hope you enjoy? I got a Terminator Genesis headache!
He's the chosen one, Optimus is the bearer of the Matrix. Hotrod won the cybertronian war as Rodimus he re-establish the Autobots back on Cybertron. And later Rodimus and Ultra Magnus used it as a galactic peace conference station for peace. Also inheriting earth and helping earth Space Command. Rodimus found out who there creators were and had to fight on two battle fronts against the creators and Decepticons as they joint forces Decepticons and there new Ally attacked Cybertron and earth in Five Faces of Darkness. When you are child it's favoritism to like and blame another character as you grow and mature you see more clearer! The Autobots were losing under Optimus they lost Cybertron completely. Hiding on two of Cybertron's Moon's. Optimus makes bad decisions unfortunately sending only 4 Autobots on a important mission they get massacred with no protection? Megatron almost Breaks through security almost wouldn't for Daniel telling Hotrod to go to look out mountain and Daniel seeing a hole in the shuttle all the Autobots would be burnt out toaster ovens? Optimus takes responsibility, and faces Megatron, beats him with his beer hands and decides to have a conversation justifying his actions? Giving Megatron the upper hand, Hotrod See's this and intervenes. I don't understand the hate Hotrod got? Optimus hand Megatron dead to center this after Autobots are massacred he takes 25 sec and gives Megatron options? And Hotrod fears for his leader life jumps in? Under Rodimus they got Cybertron back no longer second-class citizens sneaking around? Under Rodimus they never lost it? Rodimus is my favorite Autobot because he is reliable making a big transition and has a sense of humor sometimes to deal with the pressure! Optimus gets the love and only had one battle front? Stopping Megatron from steeling earth resources but allowed a space bridge to be active? Rodimus had to protect Cybertron and earth and keep peace through out the Galaxy.
I dunno if you have to come up with a reason his power supply could be in his chassis so choking/crushing his neck could disrupt functions or even kill him. Also ultra magnus was in pieces but suddenly homeless robots put him back together
I still think the matrix had to finally open for...SOMEONE...I think ti would have opened for Wheelie at this point in the movie as there was no other option available...Hot Rod it is! :D
