I remember this one! Have watched and loved your family ever since.
Well I've missed your channel - miss you guys very much & pray that life is better for you. If you still check comments, I rewatched this first episode and laughed and remembered why your channel was my favorite youtube. I know life got very difficult for you & we haven't seen a new video for a long time...maybe by the time I rewatch all your old videos you'll start blogging again! lol God bless you all & I adore seeing the kids so young in these old videos.
Watching again and can’t believe how grown up and different the kids are now compared to this.
So so fun to see episode 1! I'm glad it came up in my reccomended videos today! Have a wonderful morning!
Laural
I am re-watching your videos while your dear family is on break. I cannot believe just how much everything about your family and life has grown! The children, your property, your vlogging skills! I look forward you watching them all again.
Longtime subscriber and UA-cam just suggested I watch your first video. The kids are so little! How cute! What precious memories you’ve created for yourselves, you can watch your kids grow up on video.
Found your channel about an hour ago and I just want to say I am instantly obsessed!!! I love y’alls family so much already and I’ve only watched 3 videos so far!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Megan Simmons Thanks for watching!!
So cool to go back and see how much work you all have done on the farm and editing since starting the vlog! Well done!
Went back to watch this again. It's amazing how much has changed in two years. The number of subs says a lot for your style. Peaceful, honest depiction of family juggling work force responsibility and a homestead. I am so happy this life choice allows Bri to be home to nurture and teach the children.
Had to come check out your first video. I must say, I can relate.... 6 kids, hustle and bustle of the day, no day is ever the same. Not many dull moments around here, as it seems there. Way to go, yall did a great job!
Thank you!
Your channel is the first one that I've taken the time to learn how to make comments on. I watch about 15 or more channels, some of them for as long as 4 years. I saw The Beautiful Life had subscribed ,took a peek. and fell in love.Keep up the good work.
WOW!!! Thank you for that encouragement. We are working really hard to make good videos! And, Thank You for watching!
I LOVE the brush your teeth "thing" with the baby girl... that was soooo cute. Loved the music and the vlog and your family! Just found your channel, glad I did.
Wow! Your very first vlog! I feel blessed and privileged to have seen it. I only know about your more recent adventures. (I first heard about you when the mold issue in the house arose.)
Art...12 hour shifts as a nurse, 2 hours spent commuting...how on earth do you get anything done? Thank you for your courage and your hard work. The video about COVID-19 where you just held up handwritten notes was sobering and thought-provoking. Thank you for making it. I hope its effect is far reaching. I wonder how many lives will be saved because you made that video...
Bri...Justin calls Rebekah the Beautiful One. When your daughter wrote in her card calling you the Special One, it reminded me of that and I'm so happy that your families could spend some time together recently.
You both have an amazing work ethic. (Hardest workin' people in the room!) I'm glad you take the time for a "Zero Day." It's so healthy to have that rhythm of rest in place.
May your garden this year be absolutely fantastic and may your family and friends stay healthy and safe.
Nice, very first blog video. In four years you all have grown so much.
I'm starting the beginning watching your videos. Praying for each of you.
Wow. Just watched this for old times sake. I noticed the date...3 years exactly. Congrats on the milestone. My partner and I have been with you all along and watched every video. Thanks for all the hard work.
You are truly blessed! You have a beautiful family!
Wow, I enjoyed the first vlog as much as all the new entries. You've come a long way with the quality editing and music....I personally love the time lapse start to many of the newer vlogs.....great job, keep it up! Bill
Nicely done. I've been wanting to start a vlog for 3 years now. You give me inspiration.
We've been homesteading for years, and I blogged for years but just this week I started my UA-cam page. I too have no idea what I'm doing, but looking forward to having fun with it. Love you channel!
I was looking for starting chickens videos. I found your vlog. I've fallen in love with your family and had to start at the first video so I could watch the progression. You all are a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing.
Wow ! Not sure how I missed this one or why it popped up today, but it was ( as always ) delightful !
So I have jumped all the way back here to see your 1st vlog, its so lovely seeing your beautiful family grow, im learning from your vlogs, they are great. Margie from Australia
I recently stumbled across your channel. Very lovely! And I can TOTALLY relate to checking for paper in baby's mouth. 😂 My son who just turned one puts EVERYTHING in his mouth, as well. Haha Your homestead is beautiful! Blessings!
Been following you for about 18 months and never seen this video before. Great to see how far your family (and your editing😂) has come. 😊
Thank you for ART and BRI for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden bye 👋 bye 👋 🐔🐓🐥🐕🐖🐈🐐🌱🐄🎥👍👍👍
Loving these old vlogs and how little the kids are!
What a beautiful place you have! Such great a surrounding, love your vlog, keep up the good work!
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!
Jumped into this video just want to say what a beautiful family you are!
We decided to go back and look at your first video. You seriously live on beautiful land. Wow.
Thanks. We love this place.
WOW! For your first ever Vlog this is awesome! I have so much to learn..... 1st is to s l o w down enough to get the camera and record what I DO in a day! lol
I have enjoyed your VLOG so much I decide to view the older ones I had not seen. Wow, apparently this was your first and it is crazy good. You have serious talent! God Bless
Thanks for watching! That first video took Arthur days to edit!
I think your first vlog was great !! If it had gone just as you wanted it to, we might have thought you were too perfect for us. Instead we got to see a normal family (hey Joy will you brush your teeth and get dressed?) just like us. I initially started watching your vlogs haphazardly and realized I was missing stuff, so decided to start from the initial vlog. I heard you say the other day you have over 500 videos !! What a great remembrance for your children when they are adults.
I just wanted to tell you how much I love your wonderful familie (esp gracie) and its just everything i never had as a child growing up I am inspired to buy land and farm but alas I'm a bit old and sickly but still... I love the goats so much also! thanks so much for doing this vlog its quite a wonderful journey to share with you. You are such great and calm and patient parents to your wonderful children and it shows in them. best wishes and many hugs
Just found you I am starting from the beginning.
Welcome!
Same here
Same here 🤗
Sweet little family. Good luck an many blessings!
Just found you guys because heard of your mold issue we watch the Rhodes familyI love it you're getting ready with all these kids my sister has five and you still have time to put earrings on God bless you guys you guys are awesome
Hi there! Been watching you for awhile and love your content, but now are pleased to tell you we are your latest subs! Bless you!
Contentment Hi! Thanks for watching!
Wow. 3 bags of tea!! Your patient with the brushing and dressing part.
Loved the beginning where you are trying to sleep! lol
The sweet reality of my mornings:)
Love how your vlog has evolved with time! You found your groove. :D The kids have grown so much!
That music is pretty loud. Us city folks really love that view too. Thanks for that.
I just went back to this very first video that u guys made after I watched your recent videos then I was just laughing to death.. ilove it! Bri was just so shy. Hahaha
Haha the tea bit cracked me up, I'm trying to quit coffee atm so I can feel ya. Binge watching your videos, these are really well made, specially for someone so new to vlogging.
Yea, I have to admit I did buy one (small) bag of coffee since this video and still drink some at work but have cut back a lot at home.
Wanted to catch the beginning.. Nice first! Two hour commute? One hour each way? Three days a week? I am a nurse as well..3 minute commute ...praying your vlog will continue to grow and provide income to minimize outside work. Also praying your livestock endeavors will be self sustainable and eventually provide profit. I love your patience with the children.
holaaaa from Madrid Spain. Beautiful images, nice family, and amazing project...
Wow! Thanks for checking out our video. I would love to know how you found it?
+ART and BRI I found out your video by watching the other family vlogger Justin Rhodes and u guys are a wonderful family
I started watching your channel the day Justin and Rebekah introduced you on their channel. I watched all the videos you had posted until then - I think it was about 30 of 'em, and I've watched every video since then.
My how time flies and things evolve! All the children have grown so much, and the farm has been transformed by 18 months of hard work. Wow. The shot of the pasture where the garden and orchard now stand just made me smile.
Awww, Oreo, sweet boy, seeing you again brought tears to my eyes.
Great life you guys have there! Other commenters mentioned music. What music? Maybe I should play the video again 😂
One year anniversary! May you have many more with u tube. Used to have 1-2 hour commute when I was working as an RN agency in Philadelphia hospitals, know what it's like Art. Twelve hour shifts are long and never get a real break as I was working critical care and ER. Don't know how I made it home sometimes but I did. Amazing what we are capable of.
OMG, you have a 2 hour commute! I totally respect you for that. I hope they pay you well or there is no way it is worth it. Take care and learning from you all on how to do Vlogging. I am a stuffy Pharmacist who has spent a lot of her years messing with goats. I grew up in a Dairy area of Michigan and it took me 3 years after getting goats to decide if I wanted to put the time and effort into building and proving my herd of Nigerian Dwarf Goats (Also a BS in Dairy Cattle from MSU).
Once I made up my mind and bought a milking machine, We have gone to the top production Nigerian Dwarf Goats. But now I am a bit bored. Will be honest. Once you make a number one or two or three, the darling's sons are +B or ++B, then what. I have like 8 SGCH does (Superior Genetics Champions) who I have taken them to the top and they have nothing more to prove to anyone. I could keep them forever, but have so many young does and bucks who are improvements over these beautiful Champions. I have been selling off the Champions to select homes so I can concentrate on their daughters and grand daughters. Bucks will move on to other farms to improve their stock. I hope to bring insight on this sad thing I produced. My Champions becoming obsolete... Breaks my heart but If one wants to move forward, that is where one must go. Just be picky who gets your DIVA's. Sorry for the off subject... Thanks for helping me figure out how to VLOG.
Just found this wow 3 tea bags you may aswell of kept to coffee
Hi Art and Bri new subbie here looking forward to watching your family vlogs.
i need my coffee, tea wont cut it, lol. i didnt start drinking it until i was 40 yrs old. try hot cocoa, you might like better than tea. (for the buzz) i love hearing the birds in your special spot, that was so pretty. wow that zucchini would be great stuffed!
❤
LOL... 3 bags.. WOW!!!! Just made my day...
We love your family!
I started watching with the kidsfrom the beginning. We have missed your videos and hope you're all well. Hoping it helps while you aren't making new content.
Watching from 2018! Stumbled to your vlog the other day, and I can't stop watching
ann star Same here.Nw em addicted to them
Admiralty Island Jewel i love them!
love the vlog's don't much care for the loud filler music in between
We are improving at picking music and volume :) Thanks for the input. :)
theca mitchell agree
I think the music is a nice touch that adds alot to the videos
I actually like the music selection. I love Appalachian folk music. I think you make good decisions. I often find the pieces you use and save them to my own collection.
Love the videos.... and just to let you know your meant to put one teabag into the cup and just let it brew away in the hot water before removing it or leaving it in but three teabags in the one cup never a good idea 😂😂 and if you can get the oul lynes teabags Irish brand there the best 👍👍
I'd be happy to walk you through making tea properly,..if you havent worked it out yet, lol, it's been a few years since this post....btw I'm a coffeeholic from South Africa, just been catching your vlogs a short while now, but youtube did me a solid and chucked your first video up front n centre..bonus!
Starting a binge watching of y'all journey. Good luck doing it full time because y'all definitely deserve it. 🙂❤
3 tea bags !!!! Of course it's strong. One is enough. Trust me I'm Irish
Arthur, This is awesome!!!!! Cant wait to see more videos!! Is this area in Asheville? Cant wait to live in the mountains again!!
Thanks for watching!
OMG 3 tea bags…. You need some ‘Proper strong’ Yorkshire Tea 😊
The tea bag clip is hilarious!!! Did you go back to coffee eventually? I love tea, but don't think I can give up my morning cup o joe.
I love watching your video. your kids are too cute.
Very cool. Can't wait to see more
Thank you! We are having a ton of fun making videos !
Gr8 first vlog! Look forward to more :-)
Thank you!
Little Bohemian children... precious :0)
I love you pronunciation of Twinings (Twin as in twin babies, not twin as in garden twine) :)
Just a little tip (from an English/Canadian girl - you really don't need 3 teabags, unless you like it ultra strong, of course. English teabags are much stronger, for some reason, than in the US)
Great first Vlog though, really enjoyed it.
art great job stay calm with joy lol. my little ones do that
Been skipping around, but thought I’d come back and start at square one ...
Great first video!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 how many tea bags. The longer you keep one bag in the stronger the tea. Builders tea we call it. 3 mins 👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Welcome to vlogging . I found you through The Beautiful Life.
Thank you for watching. Please check out our other videos!
So sweet! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻😃
Looking back. Who would have thunk. Look how far you have all come in just over a year.
So true.
You sure have come along way in a year.
I think I'm going to start homesteading, just so I can go barefooted. So darn comfortable for sure
Just beautiful ❤.
Such patient parents!
lol... the 3 teabags
Yeah, I drink that in the morning. It has a lot of caffeine. You were probably buzzing around the house all day, since you had 3 !
Wow, your land looks wonderful! I hope you don't mind me asking, but how many acres do you own? It looks pretty large, allowing you to grow a lot of your own food, your children to run around as they please, getting in touch with nature and not having to worry about neighbours being too loud, or even rowdy!
4-5 acres open depending on what you count and quite a bit of woods behind.
Awesome first 👍
Hey Art and Bri, Did y'all ever go to Crosspointe or Redeemer church in Arden?
Love her.
Concerned about Bri in the hospital with twins. So I'm watching old videos.
Beautiful views
beautiful family!
lose the music. Wecan do without it. Otherwise Pretty good for just begining. Keep at it fella
when choosing your guys' home stead, did you guys have any must haves? Or anything specifically that you were looking to have on your land to help with your home stead?
Water. Space to play. No meth houses next door. Space for large garden. Plenty of light (not north facing). Pasture enough for some animals. Barns. Good question.
Great video log! I've only watched a few so far, but it would be great to have some context. My family would love to make the jump like you guys. Some questions... if you're willing to answer. Where is your homestead? (looks like East Coast ~Appalachia), where'd you live before, what's your work/homestead/daycare time split look like? We're in Virginia and have been passively thinking about doing something like this while we build skills in suburbia (blech).
We are in western NC. We only moved an hour to get out in the country. I work three shifts as an RN, full time hours, with one day for rest (for everyone), we share the responsibility of kids / home chores the remaining three days. Honestly right now youtube is taking 4-6 hours 6 days per week (really), largely in editing time. This does slow down what we can do as far as homesteading work but we look at it is as an investment. We enjoy making and sharing videos but we started down this road, and are willing to put in the hours, because we view it as a business that will enable us to focus full time on homesteading at an unknown point in the future.
We are happy to answer your questions! Our homestead is outside of Asheville in the mountains of NC. We lived in Asheville before and we both grew up there. Our families both live in that area still. Art works full time as an RN and before we started vlogging he worked a lot more than full time. We are hoping that eventually vlogging will be a way that we can bring in a second income and that income will start us on the path of more intensively farming and truly raising our own food. We homeschool 4 days per week and vlog 6. I (BRI) usually shoot and edit 3 of the videos and Art typically does 3. As far as day care, our kids are with us all day, helping us and coming along if they can. Otherwise, we split up and one of us does homestead/house stuff and the other watches the kids. In the future as we add more animals and more gardens, we will bring the kids to do the work with us, as long as it is safe for them. It is the only way we see that we can have a homestead. Plus, they will learn valuable skills from a young age. Let me know if you have any more question! - BRI -
Asheville - cool. I've heard it's a great place to live. We are planning on stopping there when we visit friends in SC next month. I work as an engineer in the DC area as there are lots of those sorts of jobs around here. We would love to get away from the sprawl though. It eats at your soul.
So far we've been constraining our search to one of the more rural counties in northern VA, but land is pretty pricey here (10-20k/acre), so it's been hard to bootstrap the dream.
killerhz where are you guys living. We were in the same boat in Vienna VA area 3 years ago and found a great place in Middletown MD. Instagram @harmonyhillfarmfamily. Check us out and come out and visit!
Cool. We're in Centreville atm, but planning to make the move. Been toying w/ Fauquier, but it's not much more affordable. Might head down south to Albermarle.
Wonderful beautiful family!!! I agree the music isn’t at all good. Keep up the good work otherwise!! Mike
three teabags haha I drink that brand and that seems a little strong...... bet it did what it needed to! lol
It’s pronounced “Twine-ings” & my mum & sisters like it too. I’m always making it for them because I’m a morning person & they need caffeine & an hour to become human 😂. Edit: 2 hours round trip or 2 hours each way? I need to know how impressed & sympathetic I need to be ❤️
Like like like like like 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I'm not sure if you're still doing the tea thing, but check out Adagio. I love their teas!
We are back on coffee, but are still drinking tea too! Thanks for the tip!
What type/brand of editing program do you use to make your vlog?
Adobe Premier Pro
That would be one strong cup of tea
Very cool ...
