  • DIY Auto Repair and Maintenance UA-cam Video. Ignition Coil Test made simple. Using any common, typical multimeter to read resistance in ohms available for $10-25. Maintenance Repair Manual (Haynes), and AutoZone supplied Test Instructions available online used as a guide. How to video and does show a brief tutorial at the beginning of how to use the multimeter for this test. The test is done with the engine off. Tools needed include Multimeter, 5/16inch Nut Driver (or medium/large size straight blade screwdriver), Small/Medium Size Straight Blade Screwdriver, and a Marker/Sharpie. This video should help all those that need or want to find out more about how to test the Electronic Ignition Coils in Automobiles at all skill levels. This is a simple way to test the ignition coils and the test can be made in a short time 30 minutes to 1 hour if you want to "take your time".
