I’m 70 know but at 18 I was a sawyer running a crew of 3 older gentlemen. The screw dog was on the mill I ran, which was a LANE. All manual mill and by the time I left the sawmill I was in the best shape of my life. Great video, thanks for bringing back the memories.
That is a nice setup. I would not wear out that expensive tractor when a diesel power unit could be found for a few thousand dollars. The right power unit would have more HP too. I have owned a similar mill for over 30 years and always ran it on a stationary engine using the tractor for handling logs and lumber.
