R.I.P. Tim. Your wonderful sense of humour will be sorely missed. I grew up on The Goodies in the 70's and my daughter also grew up loving their zany humour in the 90's. Thank you for all the aching laugh muscles. Keep the angels and those cheeky flying Christmas Fairies laughing.
Can't help but laugh at this. Loved the Goodies then still love them now. Bought the DVD's and got my son into them too. RIP Tim, thanks for all the laughs you legend ❤️
For fuck's sake. Thanks for bringing me down. Can we just enjoy the funny video without a reminder that everybody we love will die ? It's the same with every Robin Williams clip. "RIP Robin".
I remember watching The Goodies when I was 7 or 8, so, must have been ‘71-‘73 approx. It seemed much funnier to me at that age than it does now. Still, fun to see it again after almost 50 years!
Me and my dad were laughing when watching this. It's sad to hear that Tim Brooke Taylor has passed away last year because he made us smile and laugh over years when watching the Goodies, rest in peace Tim.
I like how they paid homage to the famous Wooden Horse escape from World War II, though it might be lost on some people. It would be even more funny if they had the escapees emerging from the vault and then try to stop the Nazi guy chasing them.
As an eighteen year old from Colombia, I must say our generation definitely has a pretty surreal and complex sense of humour. Concepts, ideas and communication seem to have been simpler in the past. I remember, barely thirteen years ago how different life was without smartphones and instant access to any information. At least you had to turn on your PC to search for something. It's so damn different nowadays. Perhaps some folks who watched this show in its primetime might understand, even better than myself. Life, concepts and communication have become so complex, this is hardly funny anymore.
Would it hurt the BBC to possibly make Goodies episodes available? Especially in honour of the mighty Tim Brooke Taylor. Come on Beebs, you know you want to
Didn’t know Tim had died until I googled him just now . Sorry to hear that . Big part of my childhood . Better days when u could have a laugh and a joke .
The guy died laughing - literally - during the Ecky Thump episode. To her credit, his widow thanked the Goodies for making his last moments so enjoyable.
@ReggieMcHale Lol it's a fantastic clip isn't it! The Springboard makes me laugh SO much! But unfortunately I don't believe it's from any particular episode, but rather just a one off sketch the goodies did at some point. I may be wrong though!
You'll find this scene in the episode 'A Collection of Goodies', comprising several short films originally made for Engelbert Humperdinck's german tv show, stitched together by a 'tax avoidance' storyline. Available on Network's 12-dvd set.
@daro2096 See my comment in reply to @ReggieMcHale below. They are definitely wearing the same tracksuits as in 'Winter Olympics'. Commonwealth Games is in black and white, so hard to be sure, but could also be same costumes.
Could you upload the singing dogs and the michael aspel clips from "Kitten Kong" and the echo clip from "The Goodies and The Beanstalk", please. If so could you name the video "3 Hilarious Goodies moments", thankyou.
This was and still is one of my favourite shows growing up it had me in stitches every time I watched it. You gotta watch full episodes and be into that sort of humour I guess
@Suzyo Pumio Back then we had something called a sense of humor. Today you have political correctness. Have fun with it because today you have the personality of a cat dying of terminal flatulence.
You Americans had invented this 50 years before. It's Slapstick, as produced by Mac Sennet. Visual gags and silliness, but it was from a different era. The Goodies perfected it in the 70s, and we in the UK laughed a lot. Python, was a different vibe, later in the evening, and more weirdly subversive. But both incorporated social satire. You need to see the studio parts of these shows.
Way back when, I had a coworker who gave shining accolades to The Goodies. He insisted I watch an episode. I finally complied. I never even cracked a smile. I just ran a UA-cam search hoping to find a Goodie clip just to see if I had gotten it wrong those years ago. Nope, I don't think so.
Ha...like todays so called comedy is funny. I'd have more of a laugh listening to a cat dying of terminal flatulence. This is The Goodies...this is how having a laugh should be done.
Stop looking for sympathy. You only have a social worker to stop you bullying people and stalking the Worth family. You are just so jealous of your brother in law Trevor because he knew Harry and was friends but Harry thought you was a nasty bully.

One of Buxton's finest has sadly departed. RIP Tim Brooke Taylor. You made us laugh for decades. One Love

Rest in peace Tim Brooke-Taylor. Thanks for the laughs!
Back in the 70s kids this was really funny . And it's still really funny now . 👍

Man what a good show. I was just a kid in Quebec, Canada. I loved that show as kid.
Best version of the Indian Rope Trick ever!
Coming back here after hearing that Tim Brooke-Taylor has sadly passed away. :(
Bro me to wtf
I can't stop laughing with the horse scene
The sound of that spring!

Best show. I used to watch it as a kid. Wish i could watch the whole lot again.
You can, it's all available now in a box set.
RIP Tim Brooke-Taylor ☹️
TBT, his union jack waistcoat, and land of hope and glory are forever tied together in my mind. God bless Tim, Bill and Graham.

Maybe gymnasiums were a new trend then, and so even basic things about them were funny?
Miss the old days where "You Laugh You Die" challenge was actually the real deal
Would it hurt the BBC to possibly make Goodies episodes available? Especially in honour of the mighty Tim Brooke Taylor. Come on Beebs, you know you want to
It probably doesn't have enough racial equality in it or some such guff.
The special effects impress me more than most high budget movies nowadays.

ahah, love this video! just wondering, do you know what episode this scene is from please? thanks! :D

They did he had a heart attack watching the Ecky Thump episode

3:03 in particular is a very modern, random type of humour that we still see heaps today
Rip Tim brooke Taylor.
I don't think people nowadays understand how funny this was to us kids back in the 70's.
lol that bit when the natzi comes out of the box thats priceless
James Moore it pays homage to the famous wooden horse escape in WW2. It may also be an allusion to the Colditz series, which was on at the time.
i never knew that thanks for telling me
Infographics sent me here :)

I laughed so hard watching this episode thinking that someone died watching it that I almost died myself, I cried omg
@@avallach2061 It was actually the Ecky Thump episode that someone died laughing while watching - but this is just as funny 🤣
There are worse ways to die.
What was the name of the episode?
The Goodies was absolutely hilarious when I was 7 years old. But now it isn't.
They should put the goodies back on the TV let younger people watch proper comedy 😂
Dont worry about the youngies , let us oldies see them again ;) .
@@mikldude9376 Younger people have different tastes in comedy if they have any at all.
@The Prof bruh I’m 15 and I find the goodies hilarious
It would be nice to the BBC rerun the goodies, but the pc brigade and sick trolls would be upset
@@transporttimeagain3632 PC has ruined everything.
Along with Eddie Large, we have lost two of Britain's finest comedians.

A sad day for comedy.

I didn't know Klaus Schwab was in the box at 2:50 LOL!
Nostalgia :(
I person really died from this.😯
Tim is legend comedy. RIP.
Somebody literally fucking died of laughter while watching this.
Let that sink in.
Yes, yes, we know. And it was the Ecky Thump episode.
@Spruds ok dont worry, but thanks! :)
Looks like Gmod in real life, interesting
When the BBC was funny .... it hasn't been for a long time now.
2:43 Hallo??
Of its time.. but I still like it!
I wonder what the budget was for the Goodies' shows. All these stunts and props must have cost a packet.
My favorite part was the seen with the rope
Mason's Mocs,😂 freal!!!
As I read this the scene with the rope came!
A man really died laughing at this episode? LAME, even judging by its era. Monty Python was already delivering awesome comedy back then.
lester chua As I understand it wasn’t this one but Kung Fu Kapers, the one with Ecky-Thump, which is rather funny.
I agree with lester. Its utter crap. How these guys made a living from this crap I will never know.
