Hey dudes! Hope you enjoy "Buff History" as we've been wanting to do this one for a long time. As this is kind of a trial run it doesn't have as many skits and enactments like we'd wish (we imagine it similar to our older series "Anatomy of a Buff Dude") but if you like the episode let us know as we'd love to do some more. Also, we're wrapping up our SUPERHERO PLAN with the goal of getting it out late November. Look for it then. STAY BUFF!! -Hudson & Brandon

The Norwegian viking warrior who served the badass norwegian king Harald Hardraade (Hardråde=hard ruler) the last viking to attempt to invade England in 1066. Yeah cant remember his name bit as the viking army had to retreat due to scattered forces, a small wooden bridge was all that stood between them and the anglo-saxons. So yes, this great warrior single handedly defenden the bridge to save his country men long enough to retreat. Legend says that after a long time trying to defeat him and cross the bridge a anglo-saxon (english) had to take a spear, climb under the bridge and kill him from underneath.
Totally badass and brave. Yeah he was according to the story a very strong man.
To find the story and maybe the name, try search for Snorre Sturrlasson. An icelandic saga writer who wrote about the kings of Norway (because Iceland and Norway share same ancestry and used to be one country)

Gym or gymnasium is actually derived from the Greek word γυμνάσιο ( yi-mna-si-o ) and this word comes from the word the verb γυμνάζομαι ( yi-mna-zo-mai ) and this is derived from the phrase ασκούμαι γυμνός ( a-skou-me yi-mnos ) which translates literally to : to exercise naked . Makes total sense actually . Just take a look at the clothes at that age . Can't imagine them being practical while running , jumping , wrestling etc . So , no it was not a body positivity thing . Just practicality in sports and the fashion sense of the times .
Also , about the sex part , at least Greeks were open about it ( unlike most other civilizations ). And actually most who engaged in same sex activities were bi . In other words , just like the modern day , we like to fuck a lot and really well . Just ask people who were single ( or not ) tourists in the Greek isles . Due to Christian customs though most of us are straight nowadays.
And , about the Athenian part .... Your beloved Spartans did it way more . And actually , Spartans famously did it in a master at arms/combat teacher to pupil fashion . Guess how old was the pupil ... ( I'll give you a hint , you are celebrating pedos ) . At least atheneans were adults ( for the most part at least . There was something more attractive to be seen in a more developed body and mind of an adult ) .
