RIP Bob. I am so glad you do what you do to help. Bob maybe did not make it, but what Bob had at the end was love. Real people who cared. If everyone in the world was like you two the world would be a better place. God Bless.
This was very sad. Bob was such a sweet being and your efforts eased his passing. I am so greatful I am one of your patrons and can do my best to help out. You are a wonderful person.
Thank you for giving Old Bob some good last days with a real live family of his own. Your loving and caring ways proves beyond a doubt that your chosen profession as a Vet. was a good one! God Bless dear girl and God Bless dear Old Bob!
That was sad but good to know that he was loved and not alone when he passed!! This is why I love watching your videos and following you here and on Instagram, your kindness and big heart makes it a joy to watch your channel ❤️🙌🏻🍻😇
you are a true caring human and an awesome vet that have shared your love, passion and concern's for animal's of all types. this story deeply touched my heart, as I have 3 dogs and lost one from old age. you're a wonderful soul. thanks for sharing
No problems thank you for watching, it was a sad story and I did consider not sharing it, but it is reality and I wanted everyone to love Bob as much as we did ❤️🐾⛵️
my wife and i watched up here in michigan with cheddy between us and were deeply touched by your continuing kindness and empathy. we watch you because it is refreshing to see such kind acts, positive attitude and joy of life that you give yourself and all the animals you care for. be well!
Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I enjoy your videos and really, really respect you for your work with animals and the local people. I am shortly starting a 2 year sailing program investigating the pollution of the pacific ocean. I hope to set sail in then next 3 months. davidbotha.chile@gmail.com
I think you a are a wonderfull person for sailing this boat and especially trying to help the dog! You are an inspiration to humanity. If you are getting (too) lonely by the way, as you mentioned early in this video, just let me know. I will go sailing with you any day. Wishing you lots of succesfull rescue missions, fair winds and save sailing, from Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Thanks Robin, luckily I have a lot of friends keeping me company, and at this stage not planning to sail alone until I’ve got a few more sea miles under my belt! Stay Chuffed ❤️🐾⛵️
new here but not to boating good to see ya spreading love...Dogs got to love them. Miss mine but I know life will give me one more some day...Always a stray or a pup in need.
Dr Sheddy, You are incredible. For the last 5 years i have specialized in providing a home to dogs that for whatever reason are "unadoptable". I get A LOT of flak from people who don't understand what effect my dogs' history has had on their disposition (Social skills). My dogs have never been allowed to harm anyone in any way. Prior to 2013 i had my own private dog hospice for 12 years, mostly populated by dogs which had belonged to homeless people who became overwhelmed by the pain and expense involved in dealing with end of life issues... I have a great relationship with Many vets from that experience, two of which have since "succumbed" to the pain which comes with the job. I can tell from the crack in your voice that you feel the same way that all vets i've known feel. You cannot just sit by and let any innocent living thing suffer without trying to do all that's possible to help alleviate that suffering. You provided Bob with the most important thing possible: You took away the fear. When i was caring for those terminally ill dogs, i was lucky enough to experience the favor returned in kind: They showed me that i could get through an unbelieveably painful experience and survive, and even thrive, after my own pain subsided. Sorry to be so personal, i am just extremely impressed, and thankful that there are people like you.
Wow thanks Marty, I didn’t realize how involved you were with dog rescue. And yes so many veterinarians don’t even realize the toll the profession can have, compassion fatigue can be deadly. I have found many ways to help myself deal with that side of it and really appreciate you writing and being ‘real’ ❤️🐾⛵️
I love subcut fluids - in a hospital setting I will always give IV but after working with wildlife in the field and doing some research the subcut are just as good and often better tolerated by animals who are not so used to being restrained. And poor old bob didn’t want to sit in one spot for eight hours receiving his IV so it was quicker and easier doing a few days this way for him, and it definitely perked him up, just not quite enough though
The offer still stands well done girl just having half the passion that you possess someone would be very happy but you go all out and your definitely one in a million x
When our new intern arrive, we will start working on the mugs project and see how we can integrate the fund raising with what you have currently in place. So much to do for animals and so little resources. In our part of the world,we entangled in a battle with the CorporateS about Imaverol, dip for "ringworm". Seems ego and money is more important to some then to help animals.
I love what you're trying to do, it concerns me that you are a combination of fearless and alone on this journey... I wish you would reach out to more people and network so you have some other people. After this episode, I also think it's not a bad idea to rescue a dog to be your traveling buddy. :-)
Haha I consider animal adoption on a daily basis... but then also know the difficulties. Don’t worry I am far from alone, I have Nike and Maria on speed dial (from white spot) not too mention many friends who come on board and live nearby. Even mums in town at the moment!
Sad episode but compulsive watching.Really interesting. Need you to come and give my dog a check up,she an Australian Kelpie here in Spain but is insisting on an Oz vet!
Im sorry about the dog, Ive had all sorts of friends and relatives pass but for the most part I dont get as upset as when a dog goes Still you put up a brave fight, and thats all we can do. I dont have anything much else to offer except, stay with the love .... quick fixes for leaky hatches, gaffer tape
Good call on the gaffer tape, what’s that saying if it moves tape it and if it doesn’t WD40 it? Yes old bobs passing was sad, I was somewhat prepared but when Nastya called in tears it still broke my heart a little. Thank you ❤️🐾⛵️
For 10 days Bob was cared for, loved, and experienced good human beings before moving on to the Big Dog Park. You do good work.
Thank you so much!

Poor old pup! At least he passed loved, and without pain.
Exactly, I think there is a lot to be said for that ❤️🐾⛵️

Vet Tails' Sailing Chuffed sometimes i used plasmalyte, sometimes just saline, sub-q fluids always helped.
I love subcut fluids - in a hospital setting I will always give IV but after working with wildlife in the field and doing some research the subcut are just as good and often better tolerated by animals who are not so used to being restrained. I really love your videos. Especially this episode. Having three rescue dogs I can relate. Safe travels.
Thank you so much 🐾

Lovely Bob. 💝 where'd Joel? Haven't seen him in a bit
God bless you
Joel’s in the states visiting some friends and family, it had been some time since he has been back. Yes bob is a real sweety
