In my humble opinion his hands are not alright- looks like maybe an overuse injury commonly known as trigger finger. Inflammation and stiffening of the tendons that enable smooth controlled finger movements can cause the joint to become stuck in a flexed or bent position. You can see (in other videos on here that capture the big screen images during the outro solo of this song) his index finger on his fretting hand appears to be stuck in flexion at the distal 2 joints. Probably would be painful if JF were to feel pain, but he doesn’t travel that line…

In one of the earlier shows you saw him doing that, but just not properly timed, as if the scream just didn't fit in the transition to the solo.
Glad we got The Heavy Wing though to compensate all of that!
