@@Real_Reviews Hey, it was something new to you, I was only a kid of 14 years old when dad put a chain saw in my hand and I said "Show me so that I don't make a mistake and really hurt myself!!" ... dad was an amazing man, though he just said to me "You'll learn!" ... well, that's exactly NOT what to say to anyone, never mind an all too young of a fella first time ever holding a chain saw! Okay, that was now very long 45 years ago and I've fallen thousands of trees over the decades and never have sustained an injury other than when I had stepped over a log and over extended my leg and slightly had torn a ligament, now that was painful and slow to heal! BUT, yeah, I've had a few very close calls, though with more experience and watching some great youtube videos, I've learned a lot and as well really attempt to practice skill and safety! I've been using electric chainsaws for a few decades, love them, though I need to bump up to a larger bar and have the Oregon CS1500 18-inch on order as of today, am looking forward to flying through all the birch and poplar wood I have here!
You have my respect for learning a new skill and handling the problem yourself instead of paying someone. Your lack of experience is no detriment. No one knows how to do everything. It's a willingness to learn that matters.
I appreciate that. I actually just needed the one tree down that died due to the storm. The tree cutters were price gouging so I decided to take matters into my own hands. It was my 1st time using a chainsaw and my 1st time cutting down a tree. That thing weighed over 200 lbs and was right next to the house. I knew it was a risk but learned just enough to get it done without incident.
@Real_Reviews Good! And now not only do you have the job done, you have a chain saw for your money that you wouldn't have had if you had just given that money to someone else.
Thanks for the review. I just bought this unit and its 2x heavier than the old craftsman I had. Im a weekend warrior , and I've been lax with safety, so some posters points are admittedly valid. This old house has a good video on how to properly use a chainsaw. One thing that surprised me was the density of that palm. Onward to cutting some white pines that fell in the last snow. Again..thanks for the video.
Hi, and thank you for watching and for taking the time to leave a review. I know I am not the best with a chainsaw, and yes, that palm was crazy. But the tree guys wanted to charge me up to $800 to do what I did in the video. So I got that monster down and hauled away and came out without a scratch for just the price of the chainsaw, so I was happy. It was kinda fun, though.
Just bought this model but haven't used it yet. Also bought chainsaw helmet with visor and ear-muffs and I will be wearing safety boots. Safety first people especially for beginners like this guy! Buy your safety gear next time you use a chainsaw. Cannot afford to be complacent with what is the most dangerous power tool you can buy.
Yes, he is a cool bird and even has his own channel. You can take a look if you like. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. youtube.com/@BuddyTheBudgie001
Brother, you're lucky you didn't get your head knocked off when you pushed the tree over. And you shouldn't be sawing like you're using a hand saw because you'll eventually knock the chain off and you'll wear yourself out. You used the notch pretty good though and i can tell you did SOME research. I'm glad you and your Camara person survived.
You don’t need to work the saw back in forth in a sawing motion. It’s a chain saw, not a manual saw. You actually cut slower by doing that. Let the saw do the work.
@danielpadgett2831 I am definitely no pro, and that was the 1st time I ever used a chainsaw. If you would like to submit a video, I would be happy to edit and post it. I welcome any viewers who would like to send in their videos for the opportunity to have them featured on the channel. Let me know. Thanks 😊
Decent saw except!!!! The chain stops immediately when you take your finger off the trigger. NOT like gas that lets you withdraw saw from branch!! Chain has come off 6 times! Ill need a new sawing technique. Pia!!!
This saw definitely served its purpose, at least for my situation. I did not have any issues with the chain coming off. It just got clogged with debris several times. The good news was that it was easy to clean, and the self sharpening feature was really cool. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
@@zajcblaz Remember this is the 1st time I ever used a chainsaw and the palm tree was rottted and drenched inside. That made it really tough since the damp wood made the chainsaw constantly clog, plus the stench of the rotting wood was unbearable. But I got it done and saved myself $800 that companies wanted to charge me to do what I did. So it may have been painful for you to watch but it felt great to spend my $800 elsewhere.
Don't buy this saw. It has major oil flow problems, requiring endlessly cleaning sawdust out of the oil feed hole in the bar. It's hopeless, idiotic design. Motor gets hot and melts the plastic housing where it passed through to the chain cog. Great stuff....
@@sirensynapse5603 Probably not good for large jobs where a gas powered chainsaw would be needed. But for cutting of smaller dry trees it seemed to work quite well. Yes you are correct about the oil as there did seem to be some issue there, especially when it got hot the oil just evaporates.
He told you he this was his first time using a chainsaw. Not need to act like he's pretending to be a pro. He may not be experienced, but he was honest the whole time.
@Real_Reviews I'm no expert either. If I was I wouldn't be looking at electric chain saws. Seeing someone with a similar skill level to me is more useful than seeing an expert.
Please watch a video or two of how to use a chainsaw before you lose a foot
Lol. That made my day. Thanks for the comment. I think I am done with chainsaws for a while. :-)
Rofl I used a chainsaw for over 50 yrs there no joke. He cuts a small but good enuf size tree right next to his house?
why he has to swing back and forth like a wood saw :D

For a corded chainsaw that thing cuts like a beast
Yes it is. I was surprised.
Good video but please read the instructions on how to really use it efficiently. The spikes are on the front of the saw for a good reason.
Thank you for watching and for your comment. I will look into it.
Came to see if you followed 5he new saw steps in the manual.
Came to see how you properly tensioner the chain.
The oil that it comes with is not enough. From the video it looks like you ran it dry and overheated it. That's why @ 10:20 it was struggling.
@Bizarius1 Oh yeah, as it runs hard and heats up, that oil seems to evaporate. I almost did not realize in time. But now I know.

3rd post love the italian chainsaw move.
What's the timestamp of what you are referring to?
What kind of oil do you use
You just need chainsaw oil. It actually comes with its first bottle. I did need to fill it once to get that whole tree done.
I think the reason it clogged is the tree looks really moist fiber wood.
The tree was actually killed by a storm and had rotted inside. That really made it tough to cut and took too long to finish.
We’re you able to find this in store or have to go online?
Hi and thanks for watching. Here is a link to the product.

I was so determine to buy this chainsaw... after I see this video I don't think that I'll buy it anymore. Sorry
For small jobs and dry trees, it's good, but for larger projects, you probably want to get a good gas-powered model.
You really need to have somebody teach you how to property operate a chainsaw before you use one
