Thanks to everyone that attended the live premier and interacted with me! I wanted to say a couple things that I figured I'd pin here. Firstly, since I stop at the introduction of Popy, I decided to hold off on going into them this time since they produced half a dozen Godzilla toys, including what would be called "Shogun Warriors" in the West... and would have taken me another couple of days to get that edited, haha! But look forward to hearing all about Popy and Bandai in PART 2 since they are related! Finally, if you haven't seen my interview with Marusan's CEO, definitely check that out for even more detailed history of the early days of kaiju toys! ua-cam.com/video/XdcapcefjUM/v-deo.html
Awesome video! In the current scene of high dollar ultra-realistic figures intermeshed with high dollar designer sofubi, vintage stuff often gets over-looked.
Dude! That was a lot of fun! Bite sized toy history might be a fun feature to come back to in the future. Thanks again for another great video, and I loved the footage at the end of Godzilla just taking a stroll through town. Good for him, he works hard and deserves a break now and then.
Great video. I'm relatively new to collecting Japanese toys (started in 2015 with Ultraman) but i really like these videos that show off their rich history! Also that Godzilla shot at the end was awesome!
All stuff I knew from various sources, but fantastic to have it all in one place. You came very close to revealing the fact that GI Joe is both its own grandpa, as well as the grandpa of the Transformers, but your digression was already longwinded and you got back on track quickly.
Great and informative video, can't wait for the next part! Over time sofubi is looking cooler and cooler, at first I wasn't a fan but now I think it's neat.
Thanks for sharing man ! I mean Godzilla / Henshin Cyborg and Microman in one video…. 🤯 What else can a collector need? … ok ok maybe only Dragon Ball / Spiderman / Kamen Rider / Ultraman / He Man / Akira / Saint Seiya / Mazinger Z and Macross … 🤓
I did actually do a rough history of Dragon Ball keshi, sort of... in a junkbag video.. but mostly uncut. I will link it just incase you hadn't seen it yet! ua-cam.com/video/RVKNvxxji5M/v-deo.html

Living in Adelaide south Australia we had little to no products when I grew up....loved the thrill of seeing stuff I knew I'd never find at KMart.
DUDE I LOVED THIS VIDEO! I'M SUBSCRIBING ASAP!
Thanks a ton Geekdom!! Long time watcher of your channel! Cheers from Tokyo dude 🙌

This is probably one of your best videos so far! I'd love to have one of those glow in the dark giant-sized Godzillas.

Awesome video! In the current scene of high dollar ultra-realistic figures intermeshed with high dollar designer sofubi, vintage stuff often gets over-looked.

Thanks Dave! I opted for a pre-produced video this time around 😅 Glad you liked it! Hopefully part two will come before the end of the month!

I bought the new Super7 8" shogun Godzilla today in dark green. I'd like to get that 1960's sofubi figure.
The original japanese version of the film was also released in Poland. Although called Godzilla
Great and informative video, can't wait for the next part! Over time sofubi is looking cooler and cooler, at first I wasn't a fan but now I think it's neat.

😂😂😂
When is part 2 coming out?
We were gifted a Godzilla plastic toy that shot marbles one Christmas in the 60s. Do you know anything about this? It was a dangerous toy..
Y is it that most Japanese toy commercials seem to be like they were produced on acid????
I’m here for the farts.
Part 2 when?
whenever i have time to compile all the info and shoot / edit... and am in the mood... hopefully sometime soon 🙏
PArt 2?
History of keshi?? Or perhaps dragon ball toys

👍🏽😎👍🏽
Put your script on top of the camera and use that as your eyeline
This is the only scripted video I’ve ever done. You can see why 😝 (also, in my defense, I thought the sunglasses covered by eyes better)
