  • The 101st week in this "Ⓗ series", in which we're following the #construction of a new 12-story hospital that will occupy an entire city block in San Francisco. This is a one-week construction #timelapse at 900x, with 35 highlights/closeups at various speeds scattered throughout, compressing the week of May 31 to June 4, 2016 into about 38 minutes. Non-working days and nights are omitted.
This week's activities are dominated by two major things: curtain wall glass panel installation and the continuation of the installation of the new construction #elevator. Mixed in are a few other construction activities, as well as a few incidentals observed on the street, including the mystery of the scissors. And of course, as always, #towercrane views. This is a short week because Monday was a U.S. holiday, and thus this week starts out on Tuesday. Even with that, though, there is no shortage of highlights this week. Each week, I wonder when that time will come when the highlights will start dwindling because there won't be much going on outside to see, but so far we don't appear to have reached that turning point yet.
I'm using the same music for all of these weekly time-lapses, because there's too many of them and they're too long to license different music for each one. There's no dialogue or other audio in these weekly time-lapses, just music, so you are welcome to turn down the volume and provide your own accompaniment music.
For this week's episode, subscriber Martha Dunkley recommends "Back to Back - Jazzy Vocal House":

It looks kinda weird to me how they staggered the glass on the third row (whichever floor that is). I was thinking the lines would be consistent all the way up.

Me too it seems that these windows are not properly laid.

Yeah, I was surprised when I saw it, too. Oh no! They're going to have to take that down and do it all over, lol. But, actually, it appears that was an intentional aesthetic design choice. You can see it in this design artwork of what the building is supposed to look like: vng.cpmc2020.org/sites/vng.dev77.net/files/gallery/gra%202013%201016%20sg_sfhospital_view%20L%20-%20watercolor%20filter2_0.jpg

Thank you for your reply and the link. Indeed, this disharmony in the windows is intentional and I must say that it will look great at the end of the project. Did you know there will be a helipad?

I don't know for sure, but I don't think there will be any helipad. You can see some of the plans at this link, I don't see anything that could be a helipad. www.sf-planning.org/ftp/files/publications_reports/cpmc/CPMC_CathedralHill_Plans_Revised.pdf

Looks like they took down the live cameras. I normally check them a few times a week but the link doesn't work anymore
