Not that you cannot save scum with Ironman, it's just more difficult: you have to manually copy your Ironman save to different folder etc. If you really want there are ways to circumvent everything in PDX games, since they're are not online services. Still, I enjoy videos of people who show how to get achievements, since you can learn a lot about a given game. Unfortunately, many achievements in PDX games are just dependent on luck, which often takes multiple tries and is unrelated to your actual skills in the game.
I just hope that by removing lucky nations there's still a way to play historically. Ck3 and Imperator Rome are utter messes when trying to keep things even semi accurate to the historical timeline
this is certainly wishful thinking; but i would enjoy if paradox took inspiration from the historical invasions mod in CK3, in that you can enable or disable buffs and core CBs for nations whom historically established themselves at one point
Ya. Exactly. Let people get their achievements however they want. They are completely meaningless and serve more as goals for you to play in this sandbox that they provide.
You can, yes, but it's a bit of a pain so will reduce the amount of people who saves in in iron man compared to the normal saves. All else being equal, people do things that are more difficult less often than they do things that are easier. Same energy as saying "why is murder illegal? People do it anyway. It undermines the law when people can just stab one another." Just because something can be done doesn't mean that it will, or more accurately doesn't mean that it will be done in large numbers if it is even moderately difficult to do.
@@Malforian I hope so. If even one of the features from my full comment is implemented, I'd be thrilled, since I think it would give us a LOT more reasons to justify our wars other than "blob grow bigger :)"
I really hope they let us earn achievements with mods, but with Iron Man enabled. I don't see any reason why they would block it, if someone wants to 'cheat' their way with achievements, they can already do it anyway. So, I'm hoping it will be allowed with mods and Iron Man.
No. The achievements are for playing iron man with the game Paradox made. If you want mods its fine. But you dont get achievements. Why would you want to cheat to get them? Its not like you miss out on not having them.
@@RK-cj4oc Did you even read what I've said? I hate to break it to you, but you can literally give yourself any achievement you want. + They are already doing it in CK3/V3 where you can get achievements with mods. There are zero reasons to gatekeep achievements. But, I'm fine with locking it behind Ironman, as long as they still let us earn it while playing with mods. Stop with this weird elitism and just let people enjoy the game. it's not that serious.
The idea of controlling naval choke points is really interesting. Tinto will have to tread a fine line however, and come up with a mechanic that allows control of narrow and historically regulated areas. While this may not be how the mechanic functions, I would keep in mind we should only be able to take complete control and block a straight a chain could theoretically be raised over. This would rule out the Straights of Gibraltar since they are far too wide, deep, and chaotic to put a chain across. And sure later on the entire Spanish navy could try to block the straight if they wanted. I'll hold the Brit's tea....
I'm afraid Eu4 might get the Vic2 treatment, at least to some degree. You know, how Vic3 is a completely alien game rather than a proper succesor. I don't like EU5 taking lots of inspiration from Imperator. After all, the latter is a failed game, and its comeback is not as huge a youtubers make it seem. I hope I'm wrong and EU5 turns out to be an amazing game, but I'm scared.
Paradox is one of those companies know that any product they push you need to wait until a fair bit after before purchasing to see if it is worth it. The best release they had recently was CKIII, which if anything is only at best a side-grade to CKII.

fake news, you don't have to put it in a different folder, same one is fine
Why tf would anyone care if you savescum? Its Singleplayer
1337? The Palaiologoi enthusiasts will be ecstatic
at least it makes playing as successful byzantine more realistic because the usual byzantium campaign in EU4 is beyond wishful thinking

I just wish Lucky Nation was optional
You can save scum in Ironman anyway. All you have to do is alt+f4 or end task in task manager. Kind of defeats the purpose of requiring Ironman
I've never done that ever....ever...nope

i mean, it's kinda diff from just being able to open the console and cheat or use a mod to unlock em all
No idea what you’re talking about. My game crashes a lot tho
I wrote the first comment about water control. It's very frustrated because it cuts off 90% of the comment and so there's almost no context
Yeah I think he just doesn't want to give away too much already

The more features they use from Imperator the better. It is the best game mechanic wise.

@@RK-cj4ocYou’re wrong in both CK3 and Vic 3 you can earn achievements with mods installed
Who cares lol I just want a good game.
You can play with Ironman compatible mods, but these are almost exclusively only graphic and audio mods

0:46 I think the K is the Kiel Canal, not the Kriegsmarine
I guessed the kriegsmarine but you may be right
Estate Factions to change laws ?
The VIC3 system that replaced mana was not that bad. I hope they use that more instead of mana in EU5
Make culture groups make sense again + remove 50% of all buttons + get rid of mission trees…

loved eu3 and eu4. But I have lost all faith in PI.
I really hope they don't take mechanics from Vic 3 or Imperator. Those game are just painful to play.
As an Imperator Rome owner, I doubt I'll be buying this. Very clearly Johans ego pushing for a second chance that'll result in a vey boring game.

Imperator Rome became a very good game post-Johan. His approach to game design is just outdated.
