@Josh Edmonds I like how you think you're making a good point, but in reality that adds absolutely nothing. He did nothing that indicated any suspicion of abuse of power, or any other high crime. He was simply getting stonewalled by congress due to his proposals, and partisanship. Statements like that lessen the significance of impeachment. You cannot impeach someone due to vastly different political stances. There must be reasonable evidence in order for impeachment to even be a question.

This is what I've been saying for so long. In the end it comes down to a spiritual matter! I'm not religious or even spiritual, but I understand the world and its possessions can never fulfill you! The chasing of dreams and desires are due to a lack of selflove. The more you love yourself, the more you love your brother. The more you love yourself, the more you are satisfied with little. The price of desire is too high! Now the world is paying the price. All together. For a long time we have been chasing materialistic wealth and status. Look at Facebook. Billions showing their fake happy lives and showing what they have and what they have achieved. But inside it's empty. Like Mr Cornel West says, the soul has not been nurtured. Only the ego.
And here's what's clear to me. FORCING anti racism is the worst thing you can do! Pandering is the worst thing you can do. The people will be even more divided. People will pretend to be non racist but inside the aversion is still there. It has not been cleared naturally. Only UNDERSTANDING will remove all the hate and violence. This will take time. And it has to happen peacefully and calmly. Everyone must participate doing whatever they can to help this shift come about.
Like Mr West said. Sharing is also crucial. But that's been known since the beginning of time. Sharing would have solved so many problems. Again something religious. Share what you have and you will get it back. It seems the core of religion and spirituality is true, but it has been tainted and buried under human corruption and hypocrisy and so the message is harder to receive.
Mr West is an intelligent man, but more importantly, he speaks from the heart!

I thank him so much for all of his works and teaching on some of these issues for years, with great dedication. For the last few months I have been viewing a lot of our speakers from the past that have been having these conversations for years about all of the injustices that we have faced and elected officials were as performative as they are today. Its a new dawn and a new day, with change on the horizon because all of the systems have to fall and be rebuilt from the roots. The flip flopping can be entertaining sometimes but it's mostly sad to watch as they try to hold on to their selfish ideas of power, all in an effort to feel like they made it, in a broken world that leaves them tone deaf; lacking compassion as a prerequisite.

How is the country a failure when it works for the people it was built for?
This country was not founded for black people. Black people weren’t even considered people when the country was founded.
Black people were reluctantly included after slavery, and not even fully included. It wasn’t until the late 60s after black people fought to be included.
Then government did whatever it could to pervert due process.
Due process. The constitutional right not to be killed in the streets, even if you are a criminal. And government doesn’t even want to abide by that. Still.

I doubt that most college students could ramble so coherently. And Cornel West is NOT a liberal. I think he would probably agree with the distinction I am making. Socialism is NOT a category within liberalism, despite some areas of overlap. Many Americans are deceived about this for some reason.
I think that his diagnosis is far better than any treatment which he may have in mind. Capitalism has overwhelming power. The best we can do is to make it more tolerable for those who do not have much. The following applies under any system:

It's a very hypocritical country. It's always pointing fingers and starting wars. It's the only country that actually used nukes. It is indeed full of racists. It's extremely divided by politics. It seems one half hates the other half and both wish the other would disappear. That said, it's not the only country.
