- Mercedes Moné, the former Sasha Banks, is looking forward in her career but also reflecting about the past. Everyone is expecting Moné to debut for AEW next Wednesday on March 13 at Big Business.
While speaking on The Kick Rocks podcast, Mercedes opened up about her departure from WWE in 2022, a topic she has kept relatively quiet about since leaving the company.
I also discuss the controversy surrounding Bianca Belair and some "fans" expressing their dissatisfaction with her being featured on the cover of WWE 2k24.

Im proud of Mercedes. She deserved to make a difference by becoming who she chose to be whether people like it or not, she’s called the Legit boss for a reason, cause her and Trinity fatu had the right to walk out knowing wwe Vince and John Laurinaitise treated them like dirt jobbers and representing themselves elsewhere. That’s called putting your foot down like how AJ lee had exposed the women’s division perfectly or how Becky Lynch was like stone cold Steve Austin and had went on a anti-hero run as the man gimmick since 2018 due to issues with management and Charlotte flair treating her like she’s an underdog.
Mercedes is most definitely one of, if not the, greatest women’s wrestler of all time. Yes, she had the accolades in WWE, but what it ultimately comes down to is respect. The booking for the tag titles was absolutely terrible, and I would bet my bottom dollar that John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon said some horrible, nasty things to both of them during that meeting that led to their walkout. At the end of the day, you have to ask yourself what is more important. Is it your pride, or is it your job? As black women you have to work ten times harder to gain an ounce of respect in any industry. I’m glad they stood up for themselves, they are making a huge difference for women everywhere.
I think Mercedes did the right thing. She saw the writing on the wall the moment Vince booked her & Naomi to be jobbers. Now that she's no longer in WWE, she can what Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre did. That's reinvent herself. She can go to AEW & spend a good few years there to add star power to the Women's division because they are going to need. More importantly, make herself the focal point of that division. Then when she's in her late 30s, she can attempt to go back to WWE as Sasha Banks where they will value her a lot more than when McMahon was still in charge.
I am so proud of Mercedes for standing up for standing up for herself and for everything she believe in all she wanted is to be a big name and now she's going to aew trying to make a name for herself and elevate the women's division Tony Kahn gave her everything she asks for plus they got Jennifer Piper man who did most of her story lines in Mercedes is going to have created freedom and more to do and all she had to do is leave
I hope Sasha Banks or Mercedes Mone whatever her name draw more than 2 millions views on AEW

I think some people probably find her character on TV annoying or boring. While some might be showing bias because of her skin color, I don't assume that unless it is obvious (which it probably is for some of the comments).

She didnt reveal anything we didnt already know. We know she felt she was disrespected over how they were booking her and Naomi as the tag champs. But I wanted details, what was said ect. Oh well, she waited this long to really say nothing new, Vince is gone, so she has no reason to be afraid of anything, oh well.
We have no right to that information as fans. That is her personal business, just because she is a celebrity doesn’t mean we are entitled to anything. In any case, this is Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis we are talking about. It more than likely boils down to blatant racism, sexism, and horrible booking.

Compared to Charlie who can't hold a candle to Sasha ...yea they kneecapped her. It's really obvious. Nobody is saying she was on a jobbers lever. Gotta say I don’t agree with your take on this one personally Alyx, Sasha has a pedigree that is unmatched by 90% of women’s wrestlers in Wwe. To say they didn’t value her isnt something I’d agree with. In my humble opinion there’s women on the roster that would have killed to be in her spot at that time. Yes she is arguably the best women’s wrestler ever but to leave the Wwe as someone with the pedigree she had while also being a reigning champion at that is unacceptable in my eyes. Then when the Wwe is beginning to rival the popularity and creative success as it had in the attitude era, she asks for a contract with the amenities that only the very top women’s superstars have like a Becky or charlotte even after being gone for 2 and a half years while those women carried the division on their backs.
Question, would you rehire a former top worker in your company even after leaving high and dry? Would you give them a top salary? Higher pay and amenities than the people that have been there carrying your company?
Wwe is at the top of its game right now, if you were the owner of the company, you have to ask yourself “is she really worth everything she wants when we’re doing perfectly fine without her?” Looking at it now, they really don’t need Mercedes.

I think Bianca is super over-rated and really can not stand her on screen character.... but I can not deny the fact that she is over and does great in WWE so she deserves the to be on the cover of the game if WWE see's fit, and for people to use race as a reason for her not "belonging" on that cover is pretty crappy and antequated thinking.
id be more sympathetic to her walking out like that if she wasnt also the advertised main event for that show. she 100% deserved what happened to her on commentary, especially since their walkout screwed over 8? other women that night too. cause the main event was supposed to be one of those tag team gauntlet matches wasnt it?

@@rasslinreads5666 when was the last time someone advertised in the main event do that to a major promotion? was that steve austin and lesnar match supposed to be the main event or just an advertised match? pretty sure people were calling toni unprofessional too but ill be honest i wasn’t watching at the time and i sure as shit wasnt following any rumours or what the general community was saying. did solomonster do an rspw rewind on the steve austin walkout? cause im sure people were saying it then too, but that was also 22 years ago and everyone turned out fine from it. i definitely see people still complaining about austin playing politics
