Imagine being 300 years old, but with the looks, energy and health of a 25 year old! Imagine all the wisdom, experience and knowledge you would have. It is so sad that brilliant people only get a short few decades in good health. How would the world be if Einstein still lived?

There are around 70,000,000 boomers in America alone. We don't have enough care facilities on the planet for Americans alone so we have no choice but to cure aging to not only to address the current aging population but for our aging populations 100 or 250 years from now as well. We need to adopt the mindset of fighting for our future.

All of those boomers don't need skilled nursing care . Most people either just drop dead or become actively sick needing hospital care, and then die. Society doesn't HAVE to have nursing homes for every old person (lots of young people there too for various reasons) , they can live with family you know.

AI advancements play a huge role in accelerating biotech research.

But I agree with you. I’m half-way through medical school right now but I really want to get involved in this research. I want to see a world where death is a choice, not an inevitability.

Personally I think a lot of it comes down to attitude. My great grandad was born in 1893 and died at 100 years old when I was 23. Grandma was 99 and only died a couple of years ago. Great uncle was 102 and a full blown war hero and only recently died. Errr yeah, I’m 53 and my gf is 30 years younger than me. Personally, I don’t feel particularly old and other than the fact that I’m bald as a badger and have been for decades I don’t even look my age. To be clear I’m not bragging about anything here (With the possible exception of the gf lol) but what I will say about all my rellies that cracked a tonne is that they were always active, mentally and physically, they all had a certain twinkle in their eyes and a wicked sense of humour they loved taking chances and they barely ever got sick. Dunno. There was always just something about them. Just hope they passed it onto me lol…

200 years ago, 40% of neonates did not make it until the their first birthday. Smallpox killed more people in the 19th century than all the wars did in the 20th century. Vaccines eradicated diseases that ravaged entire populations. Average life expectancy has more than doubled over the last few hundred years. I will agree that the current state of medicine needs improvement. I’m a second year medical student right now, but I really want to focus on this area of research. Playing whack a mole once the body starts to fail is a losing strategy. But if we could work towards stopping the body from getting to that point in the first place, well… I hold out hope that death is something we can one day solve, biologically at least. The next step would be fixing all the other issues facing society.

      . . . we will be changed/transformed into GMO´s ! It´s even written down in the bible:
-> The Mystery of the Transformation of the Saints:
"Behold, I tell you a mystery: we shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed, suddenly, in a moment, at the time of the last trumpet. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall rise incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this corruptible will put on incorruption and this mortal will put on immortality, then the word that is written will be fulfilled: Death is swallowed up in victory! Death, where is your sting? Death, where is your victory? But the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!" (1 Cor. 15:51-57)

It would likely be in the form of treatment that you undergo every 10 years. You hit 35, reverse it back to 25. Wait 10 years and do it again. It would sadly never be a one off treatment, but a regime we would learn to periodically incorporate into our lives.
