  • Hole was drilled in last video. • Mastercam - Lathe Dril...
    Now it is boring time.
First of all, what needs to be bored here? We drilled the Ø1.000" hole through in the last video. For this video, we are assuming the size and surface finish left by the drill are within the tolerance required by the part drawing. Therefore, the boring operations will not engage with the Ø1.000".
If you do need to cut the Ø1.000" with a boring bar, leave a comment below and I can show you how that would be programmed on the same workpiece.

With MasterCAM you are always 95% there but you are totally stuck, so you turn on UA-cam, and in my case, you see you have to turn on stock recognition. Obviously! (in retrospect) Thanks for this and the other useful points you make here.

Hi Robin. Sorry for the delay in response. I thank you very much for your kind feedback. If there is anything else I could assist with, please let me know. I feel as though my videos could all use an update, but I would prefer to have the audience decide what could use better explanation.

Is there a simple way to start your turning on the id where your clearance drill leaves off? By starting to bore at x0. The bottom of the bar crashes on the opposite side it’s supposed to cut.
