    I cannot express how much I love this new direction this band is taking. Ever since I learned Phil was no longer in the band after them dropping one of my favorite albums of all time with one of my favorite tracks of all time (Starseeker) which was the only album they have released, I was worried what would happen to this band because they are so underrated and then the situation happened with the new vocalist they got after Phil, which didn’t pan out, but with this newest vocalist they have been dropping absolute heat and Floya with Phil and Marv have been dropping so many bangers too, so I think it worked out just fine!

    And I cannot overestimate how fucking sick their bassist was in this track, one of my favorite tracks instrumentation wise this year hands down, sick riffing by that dude!

    Somehow, this gave me Linkin Park vibes, mixed with Starset, mixed with a pinch of Spiritbox? I could be entirely wrong.

      "TheGaijinRaijin" Almost every Metalcore band that was formed after 2010-15 was likely inspired by those artists you mentioned

    I wouldn't call this metalcore, but it was a very well done song. I'll check out more from them

    • @RthereNEusernames
      @RthereNEusernames Рік тому +5

      What would you call it? It's basically a progressive metal/core track.

    • @LasTortugasAzules
      @LasTortugasAzules Рік тому

      @@RthereNEusernames djent or prog, mostly. There really isn't anything in this song that really has a strong metalcore sound. I can hear the influence, but imo it's more heavy, proggy rock than anything. I don't dislike the band or anything, but there isn't much to pick out that would define it as a metalcore song

    • @METALBIRB
      @METALBIRB  Рік тому +3

      @@LasTortugasAzulesglad you like it man but I would say for sure this falls into progressive metalcore! Breakdown is the main piece that defines it as metalcore, also the clean chorus and breakdown in the 2nd verse is a metalcore formula. I respect that it can be hard to define this song also some people argue djent isn’t a real genre so there’s that too but imo music that blends genres or hard to define are the most memorable imo

    • @LasTortugasAzules
      @LasTortugasAzules Рік тому

      @@METALBIRB I can definitely agree there's a metalcore influence there, and maybe most of their songs fit better into that category. For me, I just thought it was more metalcore-adjacent than being an all out metalcore song. The double kick pattern matching the rhythm guitar's chuggy riffs is definitely a feature of metalcore, as is a breakdown. I guess I just felt more like I was listening to a rock song with some metalcore influence
      But genre disagreements rarely have a right or wrong answer 😁. The important thing is that the song was good enough to make me want to hear more

    • @RthereNEusernames
      @RthereNEusernames Рік тому

      @@LasTortugasAzules That's fair. I wouldn't call it metalcore necessarily either, but like djent and prog, there are elements from all of them in this track I think!
      Check out their debut album. Really amazing album. Different vocalist though. Cheers brother.

    Hard to describe what makes them different. Kinda artistry among the artists (no offence to others)…if Like Leonardo da Vinci just entered the room. U get the feeling I mean it's just they are owning the riffs, the harmonics the bridges wtf^^
