All asian parents want their kids to have a stable job… like be a doctor, lawyer or engineer. Glad to know that even tho content creating is not considered conventional profession,ur dad still supports u.
Content creation is fine if you first get your degree and Masters from leading university or engineering certificates, doctor , lawyer exams etc completed first to fall back on.
It’s never too late to go to uni/TAFE. If you feel like it, you can absolutely attend uni when you’re in your 30s 40s 50s to learn new skills, or to boost your self confidence. Maybe pick up a course that’ll help with your current channel, or even learn something totally different to have another backup plan in life. TBH your aura is great and I’m sure it’ll help with work that requires you to interact with people. How about joining the real estate world? Doing it part time might be good too. Don’t worry about society’s perception of you. If you want to work at woolies/coles, just do it. It’s not shameful earning an honest wage. You’ll never know you might even meet your next opportunity while working at woolies/coles. I also appreciate your dad’s advice about finding a hero to look up to, and to be optimistic especially when we hit a bump in life. Many successful and rich people are facing stress and mental health problems too. Thank you for sharing this vulnerable side. Also prefer uncut videos, feels more genuine. Jamie, you’re probably not aware of this, but for someone like your dad, for that generation born 1950s, 1960s, the fact that he speaks English so well, is so knowledgeable, he was definitely part of the intellectual elite of china during that era. You should be proud.

Maybe ask your Dad’s lifetime. A father losing a son through divorce because of the law can be very difficult. How did he keep going day by day. He’s so humbled after so many years away from you and still embrace you.

LOL There are alot of HKG & CHINA celebrities childrens in the entertaintment industry now, But there isn't any pan asian look like you yet, so you have alot of potenntial there.I have not seen a Director and son kindof combination in the industry. I am sure your dad can link you up as a assistant director in China. Learn the ropes for a couple of years,you still can continue to do your social media at the same time. Do some professional singing training and polish up your mandarin singing then go and try 中国好声音.
