The data published by the Election Commission of India showed that the BJP got around 50% of the total money donated through Electoral Bonds. But the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been conclave-hopping, defending his party and presenting numbers that are not accurate. Shah also claimed that in proportion to the number of seats BJP has in Parliament, the amount they got is less than the India bloc. He added that with the Electoral Bonds scheme struck down, black money will now be flooded in political funding in India. In this week’s episode of Let Me Explain, Pooja Prasanna examines all these statements and looks at how much of the total known political funding in India-including Electoral Bonds, trusts and direct donations-BJP got.
We also break down how much opposition parties like Congress, TMC, DMK and YSRCP got through bonds and other forms of funding.

If Opposition have boycotted this type of money(funding) in the first day itself like Communist parties and went to the court, so that BJP would have embarrassed badly and lost face in front of people in the midst of 2024 Election.
Other than Communist party no party have right to claim Victory.

Please always don't antagonise one party. Speak on issue basis. This case is clear cut corruption from every party who received even a penny from bonds. Those party didn't even release thier donor list before Supreme court judgement.
If you always speak against one party(for sake of opposing it) without considering a issue how can you claim yourself a unbiased.
Name those all parties which are culprits in this case.
Otherwise people think, if every party is involved in this case there is no case of opposing ruling party in this issue and it will have no traction among the public.

She is playing with words. The statement of Amit shah relates to “bonds” only. The data that was shared by SBI to Supreme Court. Those bonds were of 6k core only.

Why should this money goto parties. Creates bonds where money goes to PM or CM funds so that it will be at least monitored in system.

Electoral bond scheme doesn't curb black money but does exactly the opposite.
See, along with electoral bonds, the govt also amended a clause the Companies Act 2013, which puts a limit on the political donations of a any company. Earlier a company could donate a maximum of 7.5% of its average net profits over the last 3 years. Now this cap has been removed. So, with the anonimity provided by the electoral bonds, it is easier to donate any amount of black money through the shell companies via round-tripping.
And this has been proved in the electoral bonds data from sbi. Most of the donations came from newly set-up shell companies which hardly have any net profits. SC should direct inquiry into all such donations.
In these hard times where press the foundations of democracy has succumbed to ruling party with the baggage they carry. It is consoling for hearts broken and gives some hope that organizations like you’ll and journalists like Pooja only choose to bring truth to the general public’s. Take a bow team!

BJP getting more share of ELECTORAL BOND may be justified,as they dug deep with ED IT CBI etc. No doubt, more strain and pains mean more money!
1. It can be simply justified with half the seats in Loksabha and a near majority for a combined session in the parliament.
2. High revenue states like Gujrat (since 2017), Maharashtra (2017 to 2019 and 2022 to present) Karnataka (2017 to the recently concluded elections) are under BJP rule.
3. Largest number of seats are enjoyed by UP (BJP ruled since 2017 till date), Rajastan (2017 to 2018/19 and current government), and West Bengal (largest share of Lok Savha seats).

I was about to subscribe to premium but then you compared number seats with vote share. It should have been compared with total number of seats across states and its share by parties. Suddenly it felt you have your own agenda. I will watch more videos and then decide if I should go for premium subscription.
None of this should matter it should be per seat contested, and there is a wide gulf between the two main parties which suggests a widening gulf of power, that should matter more. And bonds are just 5% of donation, other 95% is still via cash.
