- For all of you that are looking to make some serious power in a G-Body; here is a DIY video for shortening a Ford 9" housing and attaching all the bracketry to make it bolt up to your stock G-body suspension.
Probably the best video I seen so far
Thank you for he Proverbs verses - turns out I needed to hear that far more than I needed to research my diff. 👍
I agree. Bless you.
Brian you got some mad skills there my man who made a great video I really appreciate it going to share this with my son.
We had to do this to my 12 Bolt Chevelle axle to make it legal for NHRA Stock, in my 84 Cutlass. It had to be stock length, with stock mounting points, and from the GM family.
Excellent job Brian. Superb video tutorial! I have a 70's truck 9" and need to fab it for my 75 Chevelle Laguna S3. This is a street only dry sump 632 so need something a bit sturdier than the 8.5" 10 bolt.
sounds like a sweet machine ! Good luck with your build.
Nice work, you make it look easy. I’d like to see a video of you building the jig. 👍🏻
I liked to see how straight the axel housing was under a normal weight load before he straightened up an axel designed by mechanical engineers
Amen brother. It is nice to see some one with the same faith and hot rods in mind this day in time that is willing to put the word of our Lord out there. thank you very much for the video.
Awesome video fella.
A gbody 7.5 jig now thats a great idea, I got to watch this again.
Very neat fabrication
Useful video. Thanks
I just did this on my race truck Chevy stepside Short bed looking good bud keep good this is how hot rods work bud👈👌🤝👍

Brain nice job on the video, I was impressed with your jig. How long did it take you to build? I guess I will be building a jig just like yours.
think if you use the original axle with its mountings out of the car you want to build the 9 inch for it shouldnt take too long to weld together , it prolly take longer to make the brackets that fit the mountings on the diff then it does to weld them to the jig in the right angles , you just need to start from the middle outward and then adapt the cradle for the bigger tube diameter of the 9 inch afterward so the mountings stay at the same distance from the axle center
the jig is a nice idea , not sure if it pays to make one if you just make a single 9 inch diff
Brian what size tubing do you use for your uppers? thank you
2" outside dia. 1.835" inside dia. its just cheap tubing commonly used for cattle corral panels. I press stock bushings into it.
Looks good, that sure makes it look easy. Have you ever added longer lower control arm mounts or raised the upper control arm mounts? Or added pinion angle when welding up the mounts?
the upper ears are higher than stock automatically because the housing itself is taller. I welded pieces on my lower brackets to give more adjustment on the rearend thats in my own car. I got them from UMI. Adjust the pinion angle with adjustable upper control arms.
you prolly could add mounts on the jig for uppr controll arm mounts , prolly only would need to do the different diff ange if hes building diffs for say a rockcrawer or an extremely lowered car on huge wheels though
AMEN my bro 🙏🏻
Nice video, where you located? I have two housings I'd like to do for my 81 boo
Message me your pricing? Please,God bless
Do you not think that the engineers made that axel housing to be straight under a normal load.
i guess it was supposed to be straight when they built it, Maybe it bent over time from carrying heavy loads, bumps and potholes, or it pulled out of square as it was built from the heat of welding.
Can it be done for a 92 Camaro
use your orignal rearend to build a jig, then use your jig to transfer all mounting points to a Ford 9" housing.
Good job brother, keep telling people about Jesus he’s coming soon and I’m glad, I’m tired of this evil world.
Can you please tell me the tube measurements for both sides. Just bought a empty rear end.
that would be a sure fire way to get the wrong axles. You measure what you have.
I just want to cut.my housing for now.
if you want to weld the ends to them too you most likely end up with the housing out of line and wear the bearings out way too fast , you need the centersection to measure everything off off
I just sent to cut my housing for now.
nice work, wanna make me one? lol
You got one for sell?
Oh jeez, just use a black n decker grinder with cutoff wheel.
Wrap a ford vehicle around that ford diff and you’ll have something. I’m just joking from a ford guy, I’m from weyburn saskatchewan looking to narrow a diff on my 1947 Chev powered Willy’s Jeep. The factory axles don’t seem to stand up and I know a ford would. And I have a few at the farm.
Do you sell them for g body's
I have one available right now.
brian taylor email me at rttguy@aol.com
brian taylor how much you get for them please email me back

Dude I have a merc. Dirt track car with a ford 9in that has Chevy tubes in it and I need a hand lol
I made it past 12 minutes but couldn't take the Valley Girl up-speak one minute longer.
Back ground noise
"I love god" I'm done at that statement
not going to listen to a single word of someone that believes in nonsense
This was brutal to watch...
Not a fan of this straightening method.

YOU DONT LIKE / APPRECIATE YOUR EYES HUH.............
Keep your religion to yourself guy.
His channel he can say what he likes if it upsets you don't watch and leave comments to yourself
Thanks for your opinions on God. Anyone with a hot rod should definitely spew their beliefs on God and all other personal ideas. Could you please tell us about your sexual preferences? Are you gay? Are you straight? Please, more talk about God. At first I was interested in Hot rods, rear ends and such. But now you’ve saved me. Thank you so much. Now I’m going to open my rear end and see if God is up there
