- Here is my humble review of the Cuisinart Digital Gooseneck Kettle. I've wanted a gooseneck kettle for quite some time, so this is a wonderful addition to my coffee station. It heats up fast, hold temperature really well, and provides a nice consistent and controllable pour. I'm definitely super satisfied with this kettle eh.

I bought one because of this video. And I came back to watch the video to figure out how to switch it into Celcius. (You can't.) Thanks so much!!
I came here for this too
Thanks for the review! I purchased this kettle based on this video, and I am loving it so far. There is zero plastic in the boiling chamber which is what I was looking for! The " up to temperature" beep is kind of loud, so if you are using this when others may be sleeping that might be an issue, but I can turn it on and go do something else and not forget about the kettle being on. Filling up to the minimum line with refrigerator cold water it took me 3.5 minutes to get to boiling temp.
Just made myself another cup of coffee with is about 10 minutes ago 😆
Individual degrees would be nice as well as a celsius option like just about every other kettle on the market out there at this price point. Thanks for the review, fellow Canadian.
Yay, finally a recommended pour over kettle. As well, I can't fit these smaller kettles on my old style spiral element electric stove, as those elements are too large at 6 inch dia and would be an awful waste of energy. So, the dedicated heating base is perfect!
This was super helpful, thank you. I've been trying to find out more about this kettle and have been hesitant about spending the $$ on a Stagg. I also like that you kept it brief and it wasn't a 15 minute overture!
Did you go with the Stagg or Cuisinart in the end? I'm having the same debate!
@@noemil2352 I went with the Cuisinart! In the end I couldn’t justify the Stagg $$ especially after finding people on Reddit unhappy with their Stagg’s breaking. If this thing breaks, it won’t hurt as much. I’m super happy with it so far, I was using a cheap ceramic gooseneck before and ceramic is f*&king heavy. In addition to being way lighter, the pour is way more precise since the spout isn’t as wide. My boyfriend was here the first time I used it and I yelled for many minutes about how great it was as I was using it. It was like night and day from the old one. Two things I could criticize I guess if needed: sometimes I find it finicky to turn on, can’t explain it. It’s the same button for on and off and it seems more responsive when turning off but this hasn’t affected my enjoyment. The other knock (and this is so damn subjective) is dust shows really easily on the surface of the kettle. Again doesn’t affect my enjoyment but I know there are people who would really gripe about this
@@pricecheckplease oh wow thanks for letting me know. Dust is exactly what I really hate, but I guess I can just remove it every so often. Can you change F degrees to C degrees like the Stagg or that isn't a thing?
@@noemil2352 no unfortunately you’re stuck with Fahrenheit, that was almost the dealbreaker with my decision making but I’ve been ok with it, I googled the conversions when I’ve made temperature adjustments, which is pretty rare (like for the odd tea I might make, I’ll adjust it, others wise I keep it at 205)
@@pricecheckplease Ok thanks a lot!
I've been looking at the Stagg and then just came across this one. I have a different Cuisenart now, but wanted a gooseneck for my daily pourover. The biggest selling point this one has for me right now is the Audible beep when the water has reached the desired temperature. I'm used to that and I absolutely know I'd forget I was making the water without it. A big oversight on the Fellow to me. Though I've seen from reviews that the beeps annoy some, it will match my current model.
The Fellow is also quite a bit smaller than the Cuisnart GK-1
Thanks a LOT for this very honest and complet review!
Thanks for the review! My kettle just died and so I'm looking for a new one and this model didn't have many reviews yet. I'm disappointed that it only stays warm for 30 minutes, resets if the kettle is off the base for 2 minutes, doesn't have C, and can't mute beeps. My old, cheap kettle that lasted 5+ years could keep warm for 60min, didn't reset if the kettle was off, had F/C, and didn't beep (which is good and bad, but I'd prefer no beeps than non-muteable beeps).
Totally agree with all your points! I do wish you could mute the "where is my kettle!!" Beeps from not putting it back on the stand.
Do you still like it?
Hello my fellow Canadian!! Another great review! Love this kettle, wishing you tons of subs ❤️🇨🇦❤️ "The great Beanyond"🤣🤣
Nice review! 1 year later and still there isn’t much about this product. I just ordered mine, hope it will last.
How are you liking it? Would you recommend?
nice review! i ordered this kettle and cant wait
Great informative review. Thank you.
Wish you would of showed how turn on and adjust temp and the overall co trols.
I just bough one of these on sale at Canadian Tire, but think I am going to return it. The main issue I have with the Kettle is that when it is set to boil (212 F), and when keep-warm is selected, it just keeps boiling and boiling and boiling. Very annoying and potentially dangerous (?). Sometimes it works as it should, but mainly it doesn't (90% of the time). If I set the temp to 205 or below it works as it should. Also, I think the keep-warm feature should be turned off by default. Most of us don't need our water kept at a certain temp. I don't like that I have to remember to push the keep-warm button to turn that feature off. I should be able to set a function so that this is turned off by default. Also, as others have mentioned, the temp can't be set in 1 degree increments (silly) and no function is available for selecting C or F. So my conclusion is that they cheaped-out on some basic functionality that probably cost pennies, but the glitch of the run-on kettle at 212 F is a deal-breaker for me. Too bad, the price is right, the kettle looks good and it pours well.
I could see that. I rarely ever boil my water so I don't worry too much about it. When I do have it set to boil the main thing I have an issue with is that it will try to heat up the water even if there's only a tad bit at the bottom, that doesn't seem safe to me. That being said, I've gotten used to turning it off if I don't want it to hold the temp. Sometimes that feature's nice though in case the misses wants to make herself a cup of tea or something after she sees mine 😂
It looks like it has a relatively solid lid but the beeps are pretty jarring and annoying. The issue I have with the hario other than the slow boil time is the lid is just a little thin piece of metal and rattles around and also you can really easily burn yourself if you put your hand anywhere near the vent holes. I've used a regular non-gooseneck before and don't really see much advantage to it unless you do pour overs regularly - makes zero difference for aeropress, french press, etc.
I enjoy feeling fancy while making my coffee 😂. The beeps seem fine to me. I do get annoyed by the "you haven't put the kettle back on the stand!" Beeps though.
@@thehumblecanadian431 I ended up getting one and love it. My only gripe is I wish the base was a little more compact and thinner, but the beeps are actually not bad (it only beeps when it's reached temp).
@@bfourney Nice! Yeah It's not super compact, but It did look more compact than the other ones I was looking at so I'm happy with it :)
Hi from a fellow Canadian! Thanks for the review, eh? :)
Can you tell me the camera gear you’re using and lighting? LOVE this look you got going on.
Not having Celsius is kind of a deal breaker. I want to know my temperature at a glance.
How's the flow rate? Some ante up to the Stagg not just for the looks but for the control that comes with a steady, slow flow rate. Which may be important for non-expert pour overs via v60. Thanks.
Great vid eh bud!
You need to show you face in the your videos. I can see you have luscious long red hair that the rest of of world needs to enjoy! :) Great reviews too!
Thanks! I like being a man of mystery. 😂 Appreciate you dropping by the channel! ☺️
Does it have automatic shutoff?
Fantastic rewiew
Glad you liked it!
Is there any plastic/silicon part inside the kettle?
Not that I can see. There is a small temperature pin at the bottom. But it looks like just metal to me.
Thank you very much. 👍🏻
@@thehumblecanadian431 Forgot to ask. Does it have auto shut-off...when it reaches desired temp?
@@k1001257 Yep! It shuts off when it gets to temp and can hold that temp for 30mins. After that it will auto turn off.
@@thehumblecanadian431 Great! Gonna order one. Thank you!
That beep is loud as hell. Would wake up the entire family early in the morning.
I don't like the beep. Pretty much treat it like the Microwave and turn it off before it goes crazy 😂
Nice!☕
I think I've got a coffee problem...or is it a solution. hmm
Do you know, if I could changed Fahrenheit to Celsius??
Does this gooseneck kettle have a retractable cord?
No, but the bottom of the base has space to hide the extra cord.
Just bought one, mine leaks steam directly above the handle burning me (with the arrows aligned), it sucks
Oh wow, that doesn't seem good. Maybe it's too full or there's a crack? Sounds like you may need to get a replacement. Sorry to hear it.
dear lord those beeps sound like a smoke alarm
I really like this kettle, but does anyone have any good cleaning tips for it? Made the mistake of wiping it with a paper towel about a day into owning it and there have been paper fibers stuck on the textured surface ever since...
Oh boy I've done this exact same thing 😂. Now I just rinse it in the sink and dry it with a cloth towel.
OK---HOW IS IT DOING
Still using it every day actually!
Would not say base is “sexy” rather it is very “ sleek”
I will check it out the Stagg and Barista are overpriced for sure
He gave it an eh 😂
