    Romania and Bulgaria... went to see a few games in Sofia last year, CSKA v Slavia Sofia and Lokomotiv Sofia v Tsarsko Selo. Poor quality football, the stadiums are incredibly poor state, and the latter team went out of business at the end of the season. Sad the state of football in both these countries....

      While in Bulgaria stadiums look terrible in Romania actually they have plenty of modern stadium build in the last 10-15 years. And they plan to build more. Before we had a team but shitty stadiums and now we have no football but we have modern stadiums 🤣

    As a Bulgarian, I would say Romanian football is on the upswing. Good stadiums have been built, more are gonna be built. Romania's legend Hagi has built a great academy and is trying to improve football in the country. Meanwhile Bulgaria's legend Stoichkov wastes his time with advertisements to fund his influencer daughter and supports crooks like CSKA-Sofia (which is Litex Lovech). Romania's national team has performed better and qualified for Euros, even beating Switzerland. Meanwhile the Bulgarian national team is the saddest thing ever, they are losing to teams like Lithuania and even barely beat Tanzania. But most of all, there is more money for football in Romania now, look at how the government built the new Steaua Stadium. Arena Nationala also looks good. Meanwhile take a look at our national stadium and you'll puke. Bulgarian football is I would say worse and in a much dire situation.

    • @he_football
      @he_football  27 днів тому

      It seems like Romania is doimg better, true. Their qualifying group was pretty easy though, but props to them for winning the group nonetheless. I also made a video on Bulgaria and their troubles and at the end I said that I think Bulgaria has a better chance of massively improving. They are now at rock bottom and if someone like Berbatov would be elected and sweeping reforms would be enacted along with losing all the corrupt owners a big reset could occur. Romania meanwhile still has massive corruption issues that are now papered over by this Euros qualification. If you are Bulgarian I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Bulgaria video

    • @viktorpanayotov5653
      @viktorpanayotov5653 26 днів тому

      @@he_football Sure, no problem, I'll give it a watch. But one thing I can comment on right away is that Berbatov lost the elections for president of our football union. He lost them to Georgi Ivanov, who most people dislike and make fun of because he never even finished high-school properly and is on friendly terms with the former president Borislav Mihaylov (who people despise). In-fact a lot of people think Mihaylov is still running things in the shadows. I have a feeling that is the case too. I don't know how fair the elections were, but Berbatov himself admitted that he saw nothing wrong with them and no attempts at corruption. So take that as you will.
      I will give an in-depth answer after I watch the other video. But my initial answer based off what I already know, is that I don't see any big improvement happening in Bulgarian football in the next 5 to 10 years. I don't know the behind the scenes stuff in Romania that well, but from what I do know and what I see on the surface, there is much more hope there. I already mentioned what Hagi is trying to do but I also see justice being done with the Steaua case and little by little Becalli is getting what he deserves. It definitely seems the law is being followed and applied a lot more in Romania, at least when it comes to football. In Bulgarian football, the law is sadly a joke.

    Great video, lets just hope we can qualify for euro 2024, right now were 1st place and I don't mind Switzerland overtaking us as long as we can qualify, but I swear if Israel overtakes us and we fail to qualify, that will be the last straw for myself and many supporters of the national team. Switzerland has one extra game in hand and that is against Israel, and Israel has 2 extra games in hand which are Kosovo away and Switzerland at home. The November window will be the final exam to determine if we deserve our place at the tournament in Germany next summer. We play Israel and that will be their 3rd game in a span of just 6 days, so hopefully we can take advantage and qualify. I would consider failure to qualify to the euros the official death of Romanian football as our qualifying group is the easiest one by far compared to other ones. In addition to that there are zero Romanian clubs qualified for the European group stage competitions, not even the conference league. The Faroe Islands, Iceland and Bosnia have at least one club in the group stages of the conference league which tells you a lot about how weak the Romanian "Super Liga" has become. (What an ironic name for the first tier division)

    • @he_football
      @he_football  8 місяців тому +1

      Romania will probably qualify because the group is VERY easy, but as you said the league doesn't produce any good players because it's not competitive at all

      @@he_football He could also tell information such as that Romania in the 1994 World Cup was after an uninspired exit from the goal by goalkeeper Florin Prunea at a cross that allowed Sweden to equalize, that Romania's golden generation was due to the project that was an academy like Juts Foitanie were mostly trained when they were juniors, most of the players from the Romanian team from that period and that it was registered in League 2 in Romania, but that during the rest of the week they were trained at the academies they were part of and that 3 champions from the last 15 disbanded, and 2 others were disbanded but reformed and promoted back to the first division.

    All off-fields considered (they are certainly important), how was there such a drop-off in the quality of players? I don't watch matches because I am in Brazil - always supporting Romania - but some of the international results since 2016 (or so) make me sad. I read the names and I don't know anyone. I can remember the name of each player from 1990 and 1994. Players from the bench were pretty good. I still wonder.🟨🟩

    • @he_football
      @he_football  7 місяців тому +1

      I think because of the lack of investment good players slipped away and became doctors, it specialist clerks etc etc. You could have the next O Fenomeno in the country but if the scouts don't spot him or he becomes a pharmacist, it's all for nothing

    • @adrianstere
      @adrianstere 2 місяці тому

      The reason is because the generation from 1994 was created actually in communism regime when Romania was have investments from state (academies, doctors, specialists, special child mangers etc.)
      In that period late 70s’ and late 90s’ they win UCL (Steaua Bucharest against Barcelona in 86) they have played another UCL final (Steaua vs Milan 89) Dinamo Bucharest played a UCL semifinal against Liverpool, Craiova was playing a semifinal in UEFA cup against Benfica etc.
      This show that was 1-2 generation of players that have been created long before by investment and professionals managers from bottom to the top. After the fall of communism (like in all Romania pretty much) the governments cut all the investments, they close down the academies, and in time the old managers that use to grow up this kids in academies they die as well leaving nothing behind them.
      Now even in Hagi academy there are not any professionals there that actually know how to create a good player. That’s why his academy players cannot compete in top 5 championships in Europe. They go there, they stay on the bench for couple months and they come back to Romania in maximum 2 years.
      The only solution for Romania will be to start invest again in academies but because there are no professionals anymore they will now to take as well mangers from France (France have one of the best academies in the world now) so they will teach them the proper way how to run this academies.
      Because talent is plenty, Romanians have a talent inclination for football generally, but without proper management is not matter.
      But in Romania at the moment there no interest from government for any investment in any sport. Romania has completely collapsed in term of sport not only football. Gymnastics, tennis etc. used to be top level in Romania in communist period now is just a joke.
