Loved learning to snowboard in Bialka, really great for beginners, from my experience. The spa in the center is also amazing and a great relaxing addition after a full day on the slops. Not sure if it's the same this season, but when we went in March 2023, the pistes were open till 9PM. Thank you for this review, it is very well made 🥳
@shagarac "... a full day on the slops"? that's very unfair on the local Polish ales, tbh (even if Robbie wasn't too keen on it); had many a full day on the slops in N. America myself though - when the weather had turned nasty 😊
We've been to zakopane and bialka twice and I think you've summarised it quite well. I think as a beginner I suffered from the lack of long green runs. Positives are the cheapness of food and accommodation and the thermal.baths are amazing. You can get a ski pass which includes the baths!
Always great to see Robbies ski content! It would be awesome to see some more challenging runs again but nice to see the lesser known resorts getting so some love. That button lift was a bit long for a snowboard, my legs are aching just thinking about it 😂
I'm off to the Alps in March and Austria in April, so you'll get some more challenging stuff very soon! Yeah, button lifts are no the snowboarder's friend!
so grateful for all your skiing/travel content Robbie - you inspired me to book 6 weeks in Central America in the summer! terrifying, but so excited and all thanks to you!
@@RobbieKnox Mexico and Costa Rica are the places I'm most excited for! Also heading to Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Belize. A jam-packed few weeks and feeling slightly nervous about doing it by myself, but life is all about stories and I'm hoping to come away with a fair few!
I went in springtime one year, dis not ski, but bought snowguns from the local producer of those, Supersnow (the orange ones). The same family owns both the skiresort and the snowgun producer.
Robbie, the traditional Polish mulled beer is actually great, but what they give you in bars where there are a lot of tourist is in fact rubbish - just cheapest bier with spices kept in high temperature, with a little bit of sugar sometimes, sometimes not. I bought it once and never more - it has nothing to do with the traditional one ;) I can send you a recipe :)
Great video Robbie. I followed your lead and did Bulgaria last year, it’s La Plagne this year, but next year I fancy Polska. Did you say it’s best to fly into Krakow for closest airport?
Looking for a snowboard holiday with my 11 year old just after Xmas in time for new year. Do you know if this is a good place to visit then? I was looking at Bankso in Romania also but worried about lack of snow
That wasn't the proper mulled beer. Should have plenty of spices, a bit of raspberry juice and a version for connoisseurs - with a raw yolk mixed in. Have to try it next time along the steak tartare ;-)
@@RobbieKnox To be honest it looked awful, just your regular pint of lager that's been put on a stove. Traditionally it should have some syrup, honey or melted sugar in it, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, freshly cut ginger and some citrus fruit in it; and going full old-Polish with it would be adding stirred egg yolk in there to make it thick. It is an amazing comfort drink for the winter when done right.
Do you have your own equipment or do you rent? us Yanks who go often prefer to lug around our own stuff but not sure if the transportation options there are conducive to carrying your own skis/boards.
@@RobbieKnox Robbie, thank you ever so much for your reply - it's heart-warming to discover that the original poster of the video (ie, you) takes time-out to read (and reply) to the comments. But you do come across as a warm, genuine, unpretentious person in your vids, so I shouldn't be too surprised. You really are my type of bloke, and you won't get a higher accolade than that from me.
You checked Zakopane and forgot to visit Kasprowy Wierch... big no no.... if you wish to have good ski time, you must check Kasprowy😎 probably better than alps 😊
You were in Zakopane and didnt try the most beautifull place for ski Kasprowy mountain :( You would be astonished by it, believe me. Bialka is nothing and Kasprowy is like Alps.
@@RobbieKnox I'm not gonna lie that looks exactly like the 0/10 hot beer (or rather MULLED BEER) I ever saw. But it doesn't mean that mulled beer by itself is as bad, but that one was, because it looked like that was only a heated liquid and that's it 😂 Proper mulled beer should besides being hot have a lot of spices (cloves, ginger, cinnamon etc), a little bit of honey, some orange juice, orange slice, and of course should be served in some proper big chunky mug, not in regular beer glass 😂
@@RobbieKnox Hey, did you prefer Zakopane or Bialka Tatrzanska? Do you think it's a good place for complete beginners (first time ski / snowboard) or is it better to go to Alps and learn there? Thank you!
Love a Robbie Knox ski video. I wish there was one every month from UA-cam's greatest ski resort reviewer. 😀
I wish there was too. Got at least two more this ski season though!
I absolutely love Zakopane and southern Poland 🇵🇱 I went for what was supposed to be 4 days and stayed for almost 2 months 😅
It was so good. Can’t wait to go back!

Yes, I imagine the spa would be great. We went to a different thermal baths near Zakopane and it was amazing!
If there's anyone out there I'd like to influence my spending decisions on holidays it's Robbie Knox!
Hope it helps your adventure planning!
Love the ski vids Robbie. Can't explain how jealous I am of all the skiing/travelling you've been doing!
Thanks! Yeah, I’m so lucky to have been able to do this.

Also ski hire and lessons were ridiculously cheap.
I went to the thermal baths near Zakopane. It was the most relaxed I’ve ever been.
They are great, and really really clean!
Love this! Heading here for half term next week with the kids for our first ski holiday, this has been SO helpful - thank you!
Oh you'll have a great time! Hope you enjoy it.
I’d love to have a mate like Robbie. He’s absolutely golden.
Aw, thanks pal!
There isn’t many UA-cam videos that I’m actually laughing out loud at but yours are truly hilarious
You’re very kind, thank you!
This has made me extremely excited for my ski holiday next week
Oooo, where are you off to?
Wagrain in Austria

Can’t get enough of Robbie ski videos 🥰
Hooray!
Living through you, as always, Robbie! This looks immense! X
Thanks Camilla you legend!
I think I've already tried mulled beer after I left a couple cans of Carling in my tent at reading festival.
😂 You’re open to other cultures.
Love these resort reviews. Keep them coming!
Thanks! I shall!
Absolutely love the skiresort reviews, thats why i subscribed!
This takes me back. And hot beer is where it’s at! You didn’t try hard enough 😂😂😂. Great video!
I think I might have just had a bad example of it. Someone told me they have spices, etc in it, but this was just a hot pint!
@@RobbieKnox you're partially right. The one with spices and the rest is called grzaniec. It's a warm mulled wine.

Hey Robbie, LOVE the ski content. Would it be possible to pop in the description the date of your visit? Time in the season etc Cheers!
Great shout - it was end of January!
I need Robbie to go crazy and fly to NZ for a ski video, I think he would thrive in the south island
I would love that so much!
Interesting one! You should check out Szczyrk which nowadays is actually largest Polish result.
Hot beer only with raspberry juice. Come again and check:)
You should visit Åre in Sweden! Just for comparison to the other destinations you been to.
🙏😎
Another great watch. What are you filming with please?
That’s was an old GoPro. I’ve just ordered a new GoPro, so hopefully the quality will improve this season!
Great video Robbie. I followed your lead and did Bulgaria last year, it’s La Plagne this year, but next year I fancy Polska. Did you say it’s best to fly into Krakow for closest airport?
Yeah, we flew back from Krakow. Flew into Poprad but that was because our trip was starting in Slovakia.
It would be cool if you done a video skiing in alaska
God I’d love to do that!
Thanks!
Wow! I’ve never had one of those before. Thanks, you rule!
you still missed ski runs in tatra high mountains, like aKsprowy Wierch. so you have an excuse to revisit Zakopane in the future :)
Definitely! I shall return!

I think my hot beer days are very much over!
According to my Polish family you missed the huge Kasprowy Wierch which is the highest peak there. Are you sure you're an advanced skier?😁😁
Yeah, I’d have loved to have skied there but we had a mixed ability group and I wasn’t sure everyone would have been comfortable there.
@@RobbieKnox all good, great video!
I can't stop laughing at your reaction when trying the hot Polish beer
It might be an acquired taste, but I certainly haven't acquired it!

I would absolutely love to do that.

how did you find this ski resort compared to the experience you had in Borovets?
Borovets definitely had more variety and a bit more to the town. If I was going for a week I’d pick Borovets personally.

Scotland next please!
I really want to - just trying to time it with decent snowfall so I can do it justice.

It’s far from the best of ski resorts in Poland. You should check Szczyrk Mountain Resort. 13 slopes of 34km
I’ve heard that’s good. I want to go!
