Being an extremely sensitive person I give and help others because I have so much empathy. What does Buddha say about doing so much for so many people because it brings me pure joy. My challenge is that I do not know how to do this act of kindness for myself. I feel selfish writing this comment. My mission is and has always been to help others and I have become depleted, burnt out and very sick. I understand that sometimes people can go too far to help others because they never want them to experience the pain that they have experienced. I believe that I have lost myself in the service of others and I never feel any expectation in return however how do I find the right balance? Maybe it will help when you think of yourself like how you think about the others when you give them your help. You're nothing less than others. Care for yourself like you would for some you care deeply about. That for me was a life changer. Because when you are able to give so much care to others you can do the same for yourself. It's within you, you have to change your perspective and see that you are worthy of the same amount of love too. 💗

Social media and its influence is so powerful, but majority of everyone's news feed propagates 'self' development, self-growth, self self self... and although that is important we're really headed for a selfish world. Its time we start considering the genuine wellbeing of mankind... not in a manner that depletes us but what's the harm in being generous in our actions, especially cause it costs us nothing.
