For funsies, I wanna see who reads my description. If you do, please comment "chiquita!"

There's a difference between liking a character and justifying/defending their actions. You can enjoy a character and still recognize they are an awful person.
The problem I’ve seen online is that a bunch of people defend Val.
I've never seen anyone defend Valentino, they usually just ship him with Vox or have him doting on Velvette.
@fanaticalistic I saw erotic fanart of Velvette and Valentino having "stuff in bed" and I'm still traumatized
It's ok to like a character if you can defend their actions
A great example is Megatron, he’s committed so many war crimes including prisoner torture, experimentation, biological warfare, psychological abuse or terrorism, and most of all GENOCIDE! All those far worse than what Valentino has done even when he’s in hell, and yet people still love Megatron and nobody bats and eye, so yes you can like a character without justifying their actions.
As a survivor I personally found him really cool. His wings especially.
He is a very well-written villain, I give him that. I hope we see him together with asmodeus sometime, the contrast between the personifications of two aspects of lust is quite interesting.
Val is not my favorite character. But I can see why people like him. He's and interesting character and I want to see his past. Dull villains make for bad shows.
He's nobody's favorite character but he's still entertaining
Val (to me) is a love to hate character, one prediction i have for season two is that Charlie will be freeing Angel Dust from Val's contract.
I would like to think people old enough to watch UA-cam are old enough to separate fiction from reality.
Your voice reminds me of sadness from pixar's inside out
really her voice reminds of the lady who played lazy Susan from gravity falls if she was tired or hungover not in a bad
@@khaliyahjefferson832 oh now that you mentioned it I can't get it out my head lol
@@beaudennis51 yeah it's so funny
The actor in the John Wayne movie the cowboys the guy who kills John Wayne still to this day gets hate mail it gets s*** on because he killed John Wayne in a movie
wait there was a movie on John Wayne Gacy
As so many have said (but apparently we need to say it again) liking a villain’s design, execution, and role in the story is NOT the same as condoning the things they’ve done. Also, what really annoys me is how many people will attack others for liking Val and then go on about how perfect Alastor is. Double standards tick me off.
People will Stan a mass murdering sadist cannibal because he’s asexual and nice to women but a sexual abuser is too much 😒
Thank you! I'm a fan of both characters, and I hate this hypocrisy! Just because you like a character doesn't mean you 100% morally aline with them. We all know he's a bad person. That's the point of his character. Personally, I just like the funny mothman cause he has a cool design and nice voice! Let me live, people!
Also, I feel the hate Val fans get is slightly attributed to people's love of Angel Dust. Not blaming fans of Angel Dust, the writing of his character, or any of that. But it is a factor. It's also the community meme of "I can excuse a canabalistic serial killer, but I draw the line at sexual abusers." "You can excuse a cannibalistic serial killer?"
I agree as someone who has Alastor as my 3rd favorite character. I go back and forth between Vox and Val as my 5th favorite. Anyway I don’t like hypocrisy either.
Val and Alastor are both horrible people who do horrible things (mind you different levels but still) and regardless you can like a villain but not condone what they do
a well written villain... is a well written villain
To my knowledge no one has ever harassed Mark Hamill over The Joker and he voiced the character across Batman animated media for nearly half his life. Stop it.
I was gonna say “Joker didn’t sexually assault anyone.” Then I remembered he voiced Joker in The Killing Joke
@dabatman5187 depends on how you view Joker's abuse over Harley since I never read all of his comics so I wouldn't be surprised that at some points thoroughout the years he probably did sexually abuse Harley at a random comic story
@dabatman5187 While Alan Moore has stated that the Joker didn't r word Barbara I think what he did to her AND Commissionor Gordon should be considered a form of assault
The reason Val acts so differently in Episode 2 to 4 I thought was fairly simple. We're seeing him through the eyes of different people, and he reacts a bit differently with them. With Velvette and Vox, they see him more as a friend who just likes to throw temper tantrums, so the general reaction is more annoyance than anything. With Angel however, he's terrified of Val. Heck when Charlie accidentally started the fire, he was more scared of the moth man than the fire that was surrounding him. Basically to his friends, he's a manbaby that they can get along with. With his victims, they see him as a terrifying threat.
The amount of people that try to moralize liking a villain character blows my mind. It isn’t that serious. Honestly even problematic ships aren’t a big deal
man the other two Vee's are just as horrible but people only attack you for liking Val it's so stupid
vox is an enabler who gives zero fucks about the employees and Velvette makes her employees uncomfortably wince and is likely very harsh with them making their self esteem low too
Rainbott had a take like Vox needing to distance himself from Val like he's just a lil' baby and while he is a
victim of Val too considering Val breaks his screen over stupid stuff a lot apparently that doesn't not make him horrible morally
Something i keep in mind when consuming media is this:
The biggest sin for a fictional character is not being a bad person, but being a boring person. If you're not entertaining in my entertainment, you serve no purpose.
Amen!
Fair, boredom is real, crimes are fictional
👏
Weird that people who think it’s wrong to like Valentino don’t have a problem with people who like characters who commit genocide (Thanos, Vader, etc).
Right and the worst part Thanos is abuseer too not sexual but still abuse he literally rip his step daughter apart just because he was mad at Gamora for a stone not only abusing nebula physical but Gamora Mentally
Also those who bash on Valentino, a major abuser, and worship Alastor, a cannibalistic serial killer.
The primary difference between the two is how they are presented in the story, with Valentino being a clear villain from the get go and Alastor being an ambiguously moral character since we don’t know his intentions.
i think its more like “i could run into a valentino irl”
i don’t think we’re going to meet a giant purple guy who has stones that can white out billions of people or someone who can kill you with their mind
@@geenhaaien Even then, Joker is popular. It’s possible to run into someone like him irl.
@@MegaSoulHero if you mean the heath ledger joker, sure but even then a lot of people see assault and SA as worse than murder
The whole hypocrisy of people who hate Valentino but shout "YAS QUEEN" at Velvette actually infuriates me.
One is a rapist
The other creates rapists
Yet one is the worst thing that should die in a fire and the second is a baddie boss babe and a queen
Most characters in the show are absolutely horrid people like Angel Dust was a mobster in his life and mobsters do some heinous shit like murder, extortion, torture, exploitation, assault and more so let's not act like he just accidentally stepped on his dog's tail and was condemned to burn in hell for that.
What is the point your trying to make against Velvette though she's still more entertaining and a way better person compared to Valentino
@@HugeRMCFanBoY-bx3odHis point is she's NOT any better than Val because she produces the potions that are used to SA people. It's hypocritical to see it otherwise.
I add to that: What makes you think she's a better person? I've been around guys like Val, gotten into fights with most of them. If you're going to hang around them in a friendly relationship you have to be as bad if not worse or they'll run you over. Make no mistake, Velvette is just as evil as him.
@angrytheclown801 Fair but I still think she's slightly better than Val
@@HugeRMCFanBoY-bx3odand why is that?
@Potato_Tomato-od2lz
One could argue that she does what she does for her own safety, as a way to protect herself from Val and others.
But I disagree with that interpretation. If it were mostly about survival, why help more than needed? Why make, or at least advertise, a date r*** drug? Why have a designer she fired work for Val? The answer is that she's just as evil, just a different kind of evil.
I don't have a problem with Valentino fans, they usually dont excuse his actions, just annoyance at other people repeatedly telling them, "They're a rapist" as though we all don't already know this. They mainly just have him interact with the Vees or the background assistants that aren't Angel Dust. I've even seen SwapAUs with their assistants Travis, Papermint, and Melissa as overlords and them as the assistant.
One of my favourite characters is Dio Brando who is a
murder
dead beat dad
constantly abuses his followers/the women he sleeps with
abused Johnathan Joestar, successfully murdered him and stole his body
abuses & murders animals
killed both his biological father & his adoptive one
used Pucci to help him achieve heaven and that is only the tip of the iceberg
Wait, people are actually getting triggered by people who like Valentino? What's wrong with liking a vile villain with a cool design? That's part of fiction. You can enjoy a good bad guy from the outside.
I know right? even if I hate valentino,I don't see anything wrong with people liking him,we like viallians,we hate villains,we even love and hate them at the same time,so I don't see why people are being so rude over this, that's like saying I'm not allowed to like anti-cosmo from fairly odd parents cause he's evil :( we're allowed to like villains if we like them
Are these the same fans who sexualize the asexual and probably sex repulsed Alastor?
Because, for some reason, the median age of this show's fandom is 13.
The reason is Joel Perez he's a sweetheart and I love him
My policy is that you can like the character and hate their actions. Likable characters can be awful, and awful characters can be likable. If you approve of their actions or like real people who do these actions, then that is wrong.
I mean, Valentino is in hell for a reason. He did die.
Yeah, it really does seem some people forget these people are in LITERAL HELL. They are all terrible people, and the "bad guys" of the show are supposed to be EVEN WORSE.
I can't believe you have to tell people NOT to harass a voice actor, and that it's okay to cosplay as anyone you want to. What is this world coming to huh? I love....LOVE Sephiroth but that doesn't mean I support destruction of the world, etc. Great video, Kitty! Please do one on Angel now.
Internet killed nothing as hard as it killed phonebooks and the notion of "common sense".
Hell, in the Remake games? Sephiroth is... um... honestly, REALLY creepy with Cloud.
Like, he legit is like an abusive, manipulative stalker or something in the way he acts with Cloud.
But... yeah, I like Sephiroth too. He's an absolute badass in pretty much every way. Fighting style, design, JP VA, etc.
But... yeah... it's honestly a bit hypocritical how these people will FLAME you for liking Valentino. But they are fine with like, us liking Sephiroth. Or the Joker, or Dio, or other technically horrible people.
But... people can't separate art from reality these days....
Despite the fact that Valentino is cruel, malicious, & abusive towards Angel Dust I still dig his overall character design.
Also the English VA Joel Perez is also a cool man & he has my full respect 🫡
Ok- so I find it extremely ironic that so many people act like liking Val makes someone a bad person when Frank N’ Furter is one of the most iconic characters of all time😭
Liking Val is a crime but characters like Eric Cartman are allowed....I hate fandom politics
@@Saltedroastedcaramel My ex best friend said he kinned Eric Cartman. He then proceeded to stalk my social media after I learned he used me to get close to my brother. I should've seen the red flag tbh.
@@drowsy7921 Kinning is also an issue. You shouldn't kin a character. At all. Being too overly attached to a character is bad.
Yep. While Frank is not as bad as Val, he's still manipulative and can be very invasive. I love Frank-N-Furter and Rocky Horror as a whole but I can acknowledge its flaws and understand why people wouldn't like it.
GREAT KITTY MONK HAZBIN HOTEL IT OK 👌 LIKE VALENTINO VIDEO ESSAY
I see nothing wrong or inconsistent in Valentino's behavior in ep 2 and ep 4. It depends on in front which individuals does he behave. In front of his victims like angel, he's threatening and scary. In front of his equal overlords, he doesn't behave a threatening villain with scary tone, because why would he, he is not trying to scare them. Vees work with each other, treat each other as equals, despite the fact that Vox is the leader, other Vees do not obey him, but simply work WITH him, not FOR him. I have a felling that vees like a villain family who cares each other. They're all abusive in their own way to employees, they're irredeemable evil, vox hypnotizes people, gived his lowest earners to valentino, so he can shoot them, so he can calm him down, velvette sells love potion, seems that she has no problem with it, remember that asmodeus, the sin of lust himself, is disgust by the sale of love potion. But still they care about each over. Alastor is irredeemable and abusive too, vivziepop and amir talai stated that redemption is not for him. He treats husk horribly like a pet, he was a serial killer, he enjoys of killing or suffering of others. He's straight up evil. It's ok to like valentino. But what i will say that Adam doesn't deserve be one to be hated by a famdom. He's funny, entertaining, and to be fair he's more redeemable than alastor, if he knew the truth that everything is not simple and the world isn't black and white. I am waiting for him to return as a sinners, as a parallel to kuzko to become lama.
I love him because he's such a jerk.
and the hot design
EXCELLENT WORK. KITTY MONK
Valentino's not just a character, Valentino is a feeling
What would happen if someone took out an Overlord like Val...would all the souls they own be set free?
I think so. His "employees" sell their souls directly to him not the company. So once he dies the contract should be void since there is noone to serve anymore
@@user-pi3hd2bt3f I only ask because I have this idea of someone taking out Valentino Princess Bride style.
To anybody who can guess what my idea is, you get a cookie
Shit. Maybe if someone killed Val, the soul contracts are now owned by the killer or a close associate of Val? Have fun with the angst.
@@Dip-Star-1489we know that Alastor took Husk souls since he bet everything and Alastor most likely took Husk souls since he owned Husk
It's ok I like characters usually villains that people would consider problematic
I love Valentino, but shipping him with anything other than an Angelic spear to the back is nothing short but criminal.
I prefer shipping him with a holy bullet, preferably one shot by Angel.
Id say Vox and Val is a good pair
@@Potato_Tomato-od2lz ok two ships
@@Jordan-mi2xp tbh there are also guns made from angelic steel.
@@BirdsDoExist12700 ok three ship
i love him. he's absurdly powerful but acts like a petulant manchild most of the time, there's something almost endearing to how much of a dumpster fire he is. he's a cartoon, he's not a real person, angel dust isn't a real person either. they are little animated bug men and nobody in real life is getting hurt
i hope we get some backstory for the vees in season two, i feel like valentino has to have some darkness in his past to have ended up how he did. i just wanna know WHY he's like that and just...more about him and the other vees in general
EDIT: also his design is just really nice, figured that was worth mentioning. even with his dorky bald head he's still handsome and cool-looking
you're right, we want to know more about the Vees, considering they will be the antagonists of S2, a backstory would be sick
but overall i just wish Katie Killjoy and Tom Trench have more screentime, focused ep on them and their own song
Hazbin Hotel has to be the adult show adults with non developed frontal lobe watch, geez a big part of the fandom is SO INMATURE and literally give twitter more reasons to hate the show for no reason, is so infuriating when ppl can't separate fiction from reality, fans dictate that liking Valentino is worse than liking Alastor... ??? HONEY, A CANNIBAL IS NOT BETTER THAN A PIMP AND VICEVERSA???? + Both of them are literally abusive torwards the souls they own and probably were terrible when alive so why is liking one ok but liking the other is not??? I don't get it
I really don’t get the hate. He’s in hell, he’s a bad person as is everyone else not born there. Angel isn’t a good person either. And people love other bad characters too like the joker for one. The joker who has killed people of all ages and s a ed people of different ages as well. He’s not a good person yet people looooove him. I don’t get that hate in the slightest. Also his design is cool af! He’s super tall with those beautiful wings and the sizes differences between the vees is something I appreciate velvet tiny yet arguably has the most control between the dynamics.
People forget the fact that Valentino is genuinely a really entertaining character he's still likeable
Is not okay to buy a mug of Valentino because he is a abuser but is okay to buy one of Alastor which is a serial killer and cannibal.
Are this people high-_-?
Um Alastor wasn't a r*pist though
Is not okay to buy neither of them because it is a 20 DOLLAR MUG
also take it easy it's just a cartoon
@Angrycat-pg5iv but he's a murderer abuser and cannibal which is just as bad
"Vivziepop has has created a breeding ground for rape defenders" is one of the worst takes I've ever seen on Twitter.
she literally hired someone with a rape fetish to work on the storyboards for her show
You can like Valentino. It’s sort of like enjoying Lion King’s Scar or The Little Mermaid’s Ursula. They aren’t real people, they are meant to be villains, and in the case of Valentino, his crimes aren’t exactly the worst LITERAL HELL has to offer. As long as the viewers are able to recognize the villain’s actions aren’t okay and don’t repeat it in real life, enjoy the character.
You forgot about the homelander as well. Personally, i loved characters who are kind and sweet characters, but i also love pure evil characters. Most pure evil villains are the best. Best theme best design best at everything. Hell, don't tell me we don't like the song from Maroon 5 animals. There are a lot of songs are sad or disturbing but we like it. You know why? The beat
You can like him but you’ll never make me work for him.
I remember Nostalgia Critic talking about why we like bad characters, because we see that they can do all this bad stuff and we kinda wish we could do it but can’t cuz we have to much of a conscience
Which video is that?
Okay like its fine to like him but lord most people I seen liking him were also woobifing him. Not to mention attacking others for saying they dislike him.
I mean if the corn has a good plot and yeah there's a few of them out there but yeah just saying 😅😅😅
Val is a terrible person but I think it’s not ok to harass Val cosplayers at all especially when it’s seen as ok to cosplay as people like joker Vader or palpatine who are 1000x worse than Val in my opinion.
Valentino has what I like to call the Umbridge effect. A villain is technically not as dangerous as another villain but because the evil they do is more realistic, familiar and/or personal they're hated more by the audience. For example Palpatine is basically the series Hitler and Devil stand-in but Tarkin is seen as more chilling by many and has less of a "love to hate" factor because he's a more realistic fascist
I mean it handles the situation very seriously and doesn’t glorify the situation in any way. As hard as Masquerade is to watch it’s my favorite episode. Great action in the penultimate scene, some Chaggie cuteness sprinkled, and jokes that always have me busting out laughing, but then you have the strongest parts of the episode like the scene in Angel’s dressing room 💔😭 That scene never gets any easier to watch and I’m always sobbing. Poison is also my favorite song from the show. As tragic as it is the song is just absolutely 🔥 and is amazing to listen to IMO. The visuals in the episode leave absolutely nothing to the imagination and show very clearly the pain and suffering Angel deals with during filming.
Yep that's the opposite when it comes to the series narrative
Fun fact my favorite joke in the entire show is Valentino: "Angel what is the f***** hold up" Angel: "Coming!" Valentino: "Not off camera your not!" maybe I'm immature but I love that joke
@@HugeRMCFanBoY-bx3od THAT’S MY FAVORITE JOKE TOO!😂
My top 5 jokes from that episode
1. Val: Angel, what is the fucking holdup!?!
Angel: I’m… coming!
Val: Not off-camera, you’re not!
2. The way Loser, Baby ends abruptly by getting cutting off by the shark gangster demons bursting out of the bar, “There he is! They’re fuckin’ singin’!?! Get ‘em!”
3. *Charlie sobbing uncontrollably after Angel forgives her*
Angel: Eh, I think this is yours. *hands Charlie off to Vaggie*
4. Vaggie: Maybe you could command a little more authority.
Charlie: *whiny voice* But that’s soooooo meeeeeean!
5. Just Angel’s angry reactions at the beginning of Loser, Baby
“Wait, what?”
“Hey!”
*flips Husk off* “Thanks, asshole.”
“This supposed to make me feel better!?!”
@@HugeRMCFanBoY-bx3odit made me laugh too
You can like the way a pimp looks but not the way they act
all it comes down to is that murder/killing is about as sanitized as possible nowadays, like even good guys/heroes are regularly beheading and putting people into graves like it's nothing. It's why Batman still gets so much shit for his no-killing rule. It's why Alastor can be a cannibal serial killer slave owner and still be a holler to watch. Fuck, Vaggie was complicit in genocide for awhile, but she still gets redemption.
I'm not complaining about this by the way, I know there are plenty of good reasons to murder someone(and make it look cool/entertaining) but sexual assault is way more personal and ugly so to speak.
Hell, you mentioned Chucky, but what about Freddy Kruger, a literal child murderer and abuser! How many people have cosplayed him over the years?
I wonder if the same people who hate on people for liking Val as a character excuse characters like Angel or Spike from Buffy. Or Damon from The Vampire Diaries.
If I’m not mistaken all of these characters have committed SA (even if wasn’t against the main character)
The mark of writing a villain who the audience can love to hate is one that is hard to write and easy to miss - and with valentino, vivzie pop really hit that mark bullseye. He's charismatic, well-designed yet has so many well-placed aspects to hate - the kind of guy where you want a doll of him to strangle it for hurting angel. Its very OK to love him as a character but hate him as a person - and that seems to be the well-executed intent behind the character.
I love Valentino. Hes stupid, adorable, and looks so cool.
I hate Valentino with every fiber of my being because I understand Angel more than Id like to admit from experience.
I see Val as an interesting character because when he interacts with Vox (ie, his equal, not someone he has power over) he is a lot of fun. He is a brat, he is dramatic and he can slo be quite charming and smooth like the way he taunts Vox with Al, and I am willing to bet he is like that with Velvel as well. *But* the moment he is close to Angel the scene's tone completely shifts. Now I want this moth man dead or at the very least as far away from Angel as humanly possible and I think that is the fun part about a villain like that, whose power seems rather unimpressive at least of what we had seen so far- and is rather focused on one character. One character they devaste entirely and hold entire control over.
In my eyes the only reason people see the other characters differently then Val despite all the terrible things they done is because of his lack of a personality
I think a lot of people just think it's the way he treats Angel.... But that's only because they dont see the bigger picture on why we like the other villains but not Valentino
I mean. Vox is cunning, somewhat reasonable and generally pathetic (in a good Way), Velvettes sassy, and people love sassy Characters, Adam is just a lovable asshole and Lute the greatest yang to his yin, calm and collected, and Alastor well. He's just funny, and dose have some great moments with the other characters (even if he's trying he has other motivations)
What does Val have? Val is literally just the abusive partner. He has nothing outside of that.
What if Vox is a just a creepy stalker that watches Alastors every move?
What is Velvette tries to help Val all the time, trying to get his employees in check with her love potions?
What if Adam and Lute just wants to kill everyone in Hell without any of Adams assholery charm?
What if Alastor just constantly tries to kill the hotel residents and cannibalize on them?
Would we really like them as much as we do now?
What if Val had more personality outside of being a abusive creep?
Would people like him more?
I don't think Val is a bad character though, I generally think he's just an amazing villain. And his one note personity just makes him eve more threatening
17:02 I mean to be fair I struggle with volume 24/7
TBH, if people didn't know Val had such a deep impact on Angel Dust mentally, they probably would like Val. His demeanor and attitude can rival the most popular villains. But his actions of Assault are ones that are universally agreed upon as disgusting. I no way condone his actions or support what he does. But his personality and mannerisms outside of Angel are very interesting and provide some depth. I love him a lot but still... Fuck Him with his own pistols.
The reason I like valentino is because he reminds me of MY abuser. The way he talks, acts, comments, stuff like that. Im not in the entirely same situation of Angel, but yknow... HAHAHHHAAH.
Im no longer in contact with him and I'm good now. But at times I'll catch myself missing him.. but come on. We all know I just miss the positives. RAH.
Same thing with Homelander, I realize he's a horrible, heinous excuse of a human being but then again the guy who plays him is way to good at it
And that kinda makes it funny in a way
Val and vox is kind of like Andrew Tate and elon nusk of pride ring
19:49 "villains who either have sad backstories that make them remorseful or hilarious or got redeemed later"
proceeds to show a picture that includes black hat
[ idk i just thought this was funny when talking about villains who are just evil for the sake of being evil when black hat is like- the token example of that. ]
I missed it? God damn it! I must have set my alarm for the wrong time zone. I feel neutral about Val.
You know I wasn't expecting Val to go as far as he does. I thought he was a possessive manchild, not an cold hearted abuser.
He's funny and he's a gay pimp, it's not hard to entertain me
If it's not okay to like Val, then it's not okay to like Griffith. Griffith is 10x worse than Val but people still like him because he's well written.
here's a funny thing. Do you know that invader zim is worse than valentino or adam. He tried to genocide humanity, just because he wants, even Tallests points that he should conguer earth and enslave humans, not destroy, but he says "yeah, but I like destroying things". He's stealed children's organs without facing consequences of his horrible actions. And also the way he abuses poor dib and his childhood with time travel and piggies, it's worse than valentino sexualy abuses no innocent, grown sinners.
Vel is a piece of crap but I like his style and he is a funny character sometimes
Vel? or Val?
Velvette lowkey didnt get enough scenes to be "unlikeable"
Sorry I meant val
@saikai80 Velvette is way too entertaining to be considered unlikable same goes for Valentino Vox and Adam
@@HugeRMCFanBoY-bx3od yeah. i honestly dont really hate any character in the show, personally. i just have some favorites.
Who up exterminating their demons rn?
I do not see the issue having to be this bad. people cosplay Dio Brando and there's hardly an issue about it. Then again these are the same type of people who are demonizing those who liked Sparkle in Honkai Star Rail and were the same way with anyone who dared be attracted to Aventurine in 2.0
Thanks for the video! Sure I hate Valentino as much as any reasonable person does but that’s what makes him a great villain! And I assure you I am not any better cuz I like Adam and Alistor as favorites, who are no better than Valentino, so I can’t judge on that aspect as well. Also I prefer Vox X Valentino or StaticMoth as my guilty pleasure ship cuz they are both toxic and deserve each other.
So, pre-watch comment:
I don't like Valentino. I like what he represents, that being an absolute monster who has leverage, both societal and personal, that he can use against the main cast, but aside from that, he's not really that interesting of a character.
He doesn't really have a personality beyond "Scumbag". Vox is an immature tech mogul obsessed with taking down people he feels slighted him (I know, I could have just called him a tech mogul, the rest is implied), and Velvette is a highly-intelligent self-obsessed "rhymes with witch", but Valentino... he's just a walking "Punch Me" sign, which is a problem when the S1 finale implied that all the Vs are going to have a bigger role in S2.
This loops in to a bigger issue I have with the Vs, that being that while they might all be powerful demons with influence over the setting and a direct means of control over one of the main cast members, they just don't feel like a serious threat. I feel like if they were to become a problem to the cast, only plot contrivances could keep that problem from getting solved in a matter of in-universe minutes, especially if any of the more powerful members of the main cast got involved.
I know we're just one season in. I know they're probably going to give us a reason to actually take the Vs seriously at some point early in the next season. I just can't really help but think "You know, all Angel Dust would have to do to get rid of Valentino now that the cast has what they got in the last couple episodes is tell Charlie what he's doing."
I normally don’t click on videos that aren’t a show I watch but ima give this one a try cause I need more content
I am eager to see what you have to say concerning this cloth consuming pest
I'm a victim of grooming and I don't understand the people yelling about how liking Val is an insult to sa/rape/grooming victims. By that logic, liking Cartman is an insult to murder victims and liking Dr. Rockso is an insult to csa victims.
But yet I never see the amount of backlash towards fans of those characters that I do towards fans of Val. Like there is a whole fandom surrounding Walter White even though he has done lots of things on the same level or worse than Valentino.
It's so funny that a character like Freddy Krueger became a cutesy icon, popular among all ages despite being a child murderer in R rated horror movies.
For whatever reason though, Valentino crosses the line?
I like his style but I hate him as an person because one he’s toxic act and abusive behavior okay basically like the joker which am like jeez man what is you’re issue man damn, I hope Val gets what he deserves!
Bro I fucking love him. He has w rizz his design is great and he his voice is just awesome. Him being an asshole makes him far better
The fact that I saw someone compare liking Valentino to liking *_TED BUNDY_* really tells you everything about the Valentino Hatedom (trademark pending).
3:08 her being an feminists dosent have to do anything with the Video cause its male on male abuse. Why is she telling us?
Could you make a lucifer video please?
I know that Valentino is a hated character for obvious reasons, but that doesn't mean you don't get to like him. You can still love a character like Val despite his actions that he did. Plus he has a great design and a great voice by Joel Perez! The way he treats Angel Dust sucks, but if anyone does like Valentino as a character, I'm not gonna judge them.
Even if she is the princess of hell if charlie was just able to just take angel whenever she wants the contracts would be kinda worthless in my opinion if that makes sense also niffty going after val is kinda in character if you think about it since he is an insect 😂😂 and we all know how niffty feels about bugs 😂😂
Most actors who only play bad guys are sweethearts, James Woods being the obvious exception.
I say it's no different then liking frieza from DragonBall or suguru geto from jujitsu kaisen or aizen from bleach
Here's the thing about villains for me, I simply like them on principle. Ever since I was a little dude, I have been fascinated with villains and monsters and the general term of "bad guys". Often for me they end up being more interesting than the heroes we're supposed to be routing for, whether it's they way the look, dress, talk whatever. But that's because their fictional. Their not real. I've love villains who are abhorrent people, but would I say I'd defend their actions? Absolutely not! If half of the villains I love were real, I'd think they were abhorrent people and probably hate them. In the case of Valentino, I would never defend his actions for a second, but that doesn't mean I don't like him as a villain. Who knows, maybe this was all intentional on Vivzipop's part and this was all really good writing. Who knows.
(chiquita) why is everyone saying "oh,vals such a bad person" "oh this" "oh that" like, **its hell** deal with it. not everything is fluffy rainbows in that show. So there has to be atleast one hellish person there omg, people overreact abt him so much.hes honestly underatted
I think the hate with valenteino has mainly to do with those two things:
1. Sexual abuse is looked more down at then murder because it's generaly worse than it. Reminder both are absolute bad but the thing with murder is that the victim just stop living but sexual abuse the victim continues on living with a trauma that could effect them their entire life and possibly lead to suicide.
2. We live at a era where people generaly are more sensetive and can not take controversial things so lightly and blow up when such horrible character is mentioned. And sure you can argue i'm wrong but reminder that in older movies stereotypes, anti LGBT and racism was more common than today.
The controversy with liking Valentino reminds me of a similar controversy with liking Mori from Bungou Stray Dogs.
In the show, Mori is a mob boss and a pedophile. You never see him take advantage of children or be innapropriate its just implied in the show. He is a very well written character yet you cannot say that without someone hearing you are condoning pedophilia.
Sadly, the issue is wordwide. Not long ago, a french creator named Octo Lady did a similar video, with interview of cosplayer explaining their issue with the community, feeling threatened.
I like Valentino like I like Dennis from It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia, and the more I think about it, the more I realize how close of a comparison that is.
Are you gonna do a winx club video?
it's always so funny to me seeing these people hating on valentino fans while they are simping for alastor.
so a cannibalistic murderer is totally fine and sexy, but a rapist is where they draw the line
the hypocrisy is outrageous
I like Val. But i also hate him at the same time for how he treats everyone around him. I mean, he has some good personality and charisma. If I were Angel, I would 100% have believed his sweet talk and totally overlooked what a piece of sh*t he really is. That is, I would definitely fall into his contract trap. Valentino is terrible. But he knows how to use words to manipulate people. It's fascinating. That's why i like him.
He's a well written villain. A well written character is SUPPOSED to be liked. You know? We like Angel/Husk/Charlie for the same reason: they are well written. They resonate with us on emotional level.
Plus! Alastor is kinda as bad if not worse than Valentino. But Al is fandom's favorite. Is it wrong to like a pimp, while everyone is simping for a literal serial k*ller? Nope, i don't think so.
Plus. Every one is IN HELL. Every person there is TERRIBLE. No matter who you choose, except for Charlie and Vaggie, because they arebnot sinners, they will all be just awful from moral point of view. You get me? It's okay to like a character and not agree with what they're doing.
Would you mind elaborating on why it is okay to like Val as a fictional character, but it is not okay to ship him with another fictional character, Angel?
To put it briefly: blah blah, muh pro ship is bad because of muh romanticizing/glorifying abusive relationships
@@Saltedroastedcaramel I am sorry, but I did not ask for your opinion, nor is abbreviated explanations really what I am looking for.
@@Jo-Heike Well, i doubt Kitty Monk would be responding, and my abbreviated explanation may not be the what you're looking for but it's what you're going to get regardless.
I mean, you can. Nobody is stopping you, if you really want to do that. The issue lies in the fact that Valentino is his abuser, so shipping them somewhat implies you are into that. Which. If thats the image you want to blast onto the internet, be my guest. Just don't be shocked when people criticize you for it.
@@UnfictionEnthusiast I am not asking for permission for anything, I want to understand KittyMonk's stance, as she in one breath condemns shipping them and in the other says it's okay to like him.
Although, I will say I disagree with kink shaming in any form, which sounds like your explanation for why you shouldn't ship them.
I'm fine with people loving Valentino but I agree please do not ship him with Angel Dust. It's not a "cute" ship... it's an abusive relationship. Chiquita I think we're on the same page with this, cosplay as whoever you want, as long as you're not using that as an excuse to act like Valentino you do you boo!
People like fucked-up dysfunctional ships. It's not hurting real people and if it's that upsetting filter the tags.
Agree with all of this
To me is not really the character itself ( which i still don't like ) is mostly the fans
People that harass Valentino and Alastor fans seem to forget that Angel casually committed territorial genocide and brushed it off as not a big deal in the pilot. (Don’t come at me saying the pilot isn’t canon it is literally referenced by the character’s in the main season)
If you think about it everyone has blood on their hands except Charlie and a hard maybe on Niffty
Husky: Former Overlord so he owned souls of people and only became better after taking a dose of his own poison
Sir Pentious: He probably killed people or at the very least caused damage to places
Angel: Even though he can't care less for territory dispute and becoming a Overlord he helped Cherry several times and I am pretty sure there were casualties
Alastor: The whole pilot plus Husk
Vaggie: She slew several demons from what seemed millennia, and since Adam's own words said she was the best exterminator besides Lute it means she killed just as much demons as her before falling
Something that annoys me lately is when people bring him up in the context of “Why does everyone hate villains now? They do evil things because they are the villian!” No-your grouping aLLlOoooT of villains together there. I’ve got no problem with liking Val as a villian NOW because he’s got a character and can be identified by his design and VAs jokes and performance. I had an issue with the merch of him BEFORE the show came out because before then we all knew him as Angels abuser. He had no jokes, and it felt like the merch was just of Angels worst fear. But it’s dif now- he’s still terrible but people can actually find villlanous jokes and traits to like. (Again-NOT 100% NOT saying he’s a good guy now hell no! He’s just-he went from being known as Harvey Weinstein and more to a fun villian 1/2 the time and the other 1/2 with weinstine attributes and terrible actions) you know? I can like some parts of him now rather than despise all of him if u wish. Or just hate him if u want! Both work!
I kinda did notice that my accent turns more swedish when I'm upset
LOOOL i find it so funny that We made the same video, with the same title!
I like him as a character but if I saw Val suffering I wouldn't help him
@6:01 LMAO!🤣I'm sorry, but you said "Why is there a HOLE discussion?" when talking about Angel Dust.😂
Because of that scene with Nifty (and her obsession with offing bugs) i kind of want her to play some role in Valentino's downfall. Like i whatever happens Angel Dust has to be the one to bring him down but i really hope Nifty gets a few hits in too...for her collection. 😂😂😂
